- So on my DCP I was a Character Attendant and able to work with SO MANY amazing characters and also some that were... not so nice. I ranked them all from worst to best and here we are! Enjoy!

At first I was thinking "interesting how any of the characters would be rude" but then I remembered I had an experience with a rude character once. This was at Disneyland, Goofy's Kitchen to be exact. I was about 13 years old and I have long, frizzy brown hair. Goofy came to see us, and he started sticking forks, knives and spoons in my hair, forks and knives the most. I was one of those kids that had a hard time speaking up or telling people no so although I felt strange, I just let him do it and kind oof sat there awkwardly thinking, "well no character has ever done this before..." One of the character attendees noticed and called him aside to chat. He tried to make it so we couldn't hear, but he was def. saying that what Goofy was doing was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I do not remember if Goofy came back or not, I feel like he didn't.

Just watching this I can tell how passionate you are about what you did in the parks. I absolutely love that! I could only ever dream about working at WDW but just hearing about your experiences makes me emotional! My husband doesn’t understand my love for the parks and characters but watching other people who have that passion is so heartwarming!!
Referring to your husband here, my guess is most guys don’t really care for Disney all that much because their movies are full of songs and musicals are not really something that interest men.
I just got back today from my first trip ever to WDW and I cried on the bus to the airport. The magic there is like nothing in this world. Mickey and Minnie mean so much to me. As well as Goofy, Donald, Pooh, and his friends. I got to meet them all while there and even at 22, I can't begin to describe the joy I felt in giving all of them hugs. I wish I could have seen you there but I love watching these videos! Thanks so much for making this. 💛🌻

1). I have to ask, was the just Beast beast-growly, or was the Beast really unprofessional? If the latter, I feel like that should be reported. Did you talk to Belle about him?
2) Also that Captain at Crystal Palace sounds horrible. Anyone can have a bad day, but it sounds like she treated everyone bad every day. There shouldn’t be a place for that in Disney.
3) Did you ever work with Mad Hatter or Evil Queen? Those are two of my favorites!

My favorite character meet and greet location to visit as a guest is DEFINITELY Mickey's meet and greet at Town Square Theatre. I went to Magic Kingdom to celebrate a friend's birthday and I was really early, so I decided to go visit Mickey because the line was short. I just LOVE the details in the design of TST, and Mickey's magician costume. Plus, Mickey gives the BEST hugs!
I met you in town square theater and you were super sweet! 🙂 My friend and I had the most magical time with Mickey and Minnie and I could just tell you were having a good time right along with us! Thank you for being so great! ☺️

Ive been a wdw passholder for the past 10 yrs and have seen it all...good and bad. This was fun hearing your experiences with the characters. I have 4 autograph books full of signitures and enjoy meeting them while visiting the parks. Mary Poppins, Snow White and Tinkerbell are 3 of my fav face characters and Chip and Dale, Minnie and Marie are always fun. You sound like an amazing CM..very positive even in bad situations and a hard worker. I wish I had run into you while you were here. I just found your videos and im enjoying hearing your experience as a CM. Thank for all the hard work and pixie dust you spread to so many 😊

Snow White is my favorite princess but I never knew you could meet her at Magic Kingdom. Where is she located? I will treasure my last meet and greet with Mickey and Minney dressed in their birthday attire on MY birthday!

I usually watch people activity in Disneyland / Magic Kingdom for my research and I got this in my recommendation. From all the people sharing their experience, I think you have the best story-telling skill - And Shirt! I love Taylor Swift as well.

We just had a great experience last week at Crystal Palace. My kids are 3 and 5 and adore Pooh and friends. The experience was so great partially because of the character attendants (one in particular). I guess they were all actually enjoying themselves and it showed.
How do you feel about the new automated cameras with Mickey and Minnie at Townhall? Our pictures kind of sucked from it because the kids didn’t know why we were making them look at a wall. It’s such a pity because the characters were so sweet with the little ones but the pictures make it look like everyone was so awkward and uncomfortable. It caught none of the experience of when the kids walked into the room and got the big Mickey and Minnie welcome.
i hateeeee the automated cameras. I think it is a terrible idea and disney needs to get rid of them immediately lol. im glad you had a great trip though and experience at crystal palace!
I’m not sure if the beast was still rude back in April if you know what I’m saying but to me he was super rude when we ate at be our guest. We ate there because I am beauty and the beast obsessed and I wanted to meet the beast so bad. He completely ignored me and only interacted with my sister even tho I was trying to talk to him. He hugged my sister and when I asked he like brushed me off and wouldn’t give me one... it was awkward and I felt so bad after. Completely ruined the experience for me. Hope this isn’t common for everyone lol I’m sure it’s not. I love your videos Brooke!

I was an ICP so May - August 2019!!! I did work with Minnie a lot so I wouldn’t be surprised if she saw me :)
I was attractions on my cp and I think y'all are some of the most incredible cast members bc you guys have some of the worst guest interactions sometimes
Hi, can you talk about how the people playing the Disney Characters are like? How are they really like out of costume in your experience?
They're not allowed. It's called Character Integrity, meaning that any cast member working at Disney must remain separate from the character that they portray.
Not playing, they’re friends with that character. And she said she doesn’t go against character integrity and respects that, so I respect that too. Don’t ask questions like this, that is completely confidential information and also ruins the magic Disney sets out to create.

Funny you mention Dinoland Donald as one of your least favorites, because I had a rude interaction with him on my last trip. My brothers and I were in Dinoland after it rained, and all the characters were walking back out. We noticed Chip and Dale first, and once they came out, we stood nearby where they’d come from, just high fiving the characters as they walked out, waving to them, nothing too formal. When Donald came out, he wouldn’t acknowledge us. He seemed almost annoyed that we were there. His attendant almost apologetically told us to go meet him at his meet and greet spot.
I’d love to become a character attendant through the DCP, the only problem is that I’m Irish and I don’t live in America, do you have any advice?

@@PartOfBrookesWorld I really enjoy your stories they help others thinking about working with Disney characters and moments when you feel like being not where you are there but if you can interact with characters cool because interacting with people you like is a lot of fun oh yes and I miss the oppertunity to travel I'm looking for a new job wish me luck

I was an attendant on my second CP last fall and WOW watching this made me miss it so much!!! Brings back so many memories 😭❤️ I can totally relate with you about how much being an attendant meant to me, and also about how much I LOVED working with the mice in TST! (literally my fav place to work ever) 💙💙💙
After finding your channel just yesterday I'm slowly working through your videos right from the start at a rate of four a day but I couldn't resist jumping forward a year to quickly watch this one. You probably have already covered this question in an earlier video that I've not gotten to yet but I'll ask anyway. You said you worked with Mary Poppins so I was wondering, do the characters stay in character as long as they are dressed in the costumes (even backstage) so when you spent time with Mary Poppins for example, between appearances did you feel that you were you on a break with Mary Poppins or with just another castmember please? Also I heard a story once that behind the scenes the Princesses have an internal ranking order from most to least important and the actors get really upset if a lower ranking Princess steps on the toes of a higher ranking one, is this true or just a silly story?

the characters are always who they are, as for the princesses I heard so many rumours about the princess before i started working for disney and as far as I saw they are all friends and get along just fine!

I really feel bad for you Brooke about the things you had the worst shift experiences! I hope that you can get a better one, whenever you attend another DCP semester at Disney!
I really didn’t have that many bad experiences. No more than a regular customer service job. It is very unlikely that I will be able to do the CEP again
I went to Disney last summer. I hope to go again this summer when hopefully everything opens up again and Coronavirus goes away.

I’m sorry u feel this way, but I say right at the beginning that each experience is different for everyone. And fully respected character integrity in the process. I also said that it was a solid rumour that they would not be hiring character attendants and That I’m not a recruiter so I can’t tell for sure. I did the same thing with merchandise last year and still got my dream role this year, so I’m not too concerned
