That's exactly what I've been telling everyone. Why people criticize if I make knock-off LV bags, La Coste Tshirts, Crocs sandals? Why can't they just leave me alone? I'm the one who spent money on building the factory, buying the materialis, hiring labor, etc. Why can't they just compete fairly with my low prices?

@@BarrettYT Totally agree , that's why I never pay a dime for any song or movie. I used to buy those $1 DVD5 movies and $2 for DVD9 versions. I collected crates of them that filled an entire room until all my friends were telling me what a waste of money and room space. All my friends were just downloading Hollywood movies online for free. We truly have different cultures and political systems. With the advent of online video streaming, I still never pay a cent for Tencent video or iQiyi (China's version of Netflix and Amazon Prime)

Each time when you mentioned about learning from China. It makes me very happy for them & proud for our small nation, Singapore in the role our government played in engaging China & training its government officials in many fields. After paramount leader Deng Xiao Ping visited Singapore in 1978, China sent its public department officers to learn hands on our city planning from our Urban Redevelopment Authority, Land Transport Authority, National Environmental Agency & many other government agencies and inter-agencies coordination. Our founding PM Lee Kuan Yew told Deng that China will surpass Singapore in 30 years on from 1978 and that they should not simply copy from Singapore but adept what they learn about means / methods / policies that will best suit China’s domestic needs. Till Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s passing he had cultivated close rapport with all the 5 Presidents of China including current President Xi.

As a Chinese (Mainland Chinese) having life experience in China, Singapore, Europe and United States, I want to say one thing: there is a country played a very important role in China's modernization path -- Singapore. When Deng Xiaoping started the new open policy in late 1970s, he visited Singapore and meet several times with another great Chinese -- Lee. After that every year there are many Chinese officers go to Singapore to study public policy. Singapore is experienced in efficiently Managing a state (though it is small) with many Chinese, who are hard-working and easy to obey rules, with a Modernized system, partially learned from Westerners (At early time, most Singapore leaders had graduated from UK). Deng and Lee are both very great leaders, because they know what is the right thing to do. Lee was against Communist Party and revolutions , he arrested a lot of those leaders. Deng did not care too much about this as he saw a clean, beautiful and international Singapore. And at the same time Lee knew that Chinese Communist Party was not the enemy he had faced in South Asia, so he was very positive about cooperating with China though Singapore is close to US politically. Mainland Chinese sometimes thought Singaporeans are "traitors" of Chinese, but they had no idea about the complex of international relation and politics, so are some Singaporeans. Anyway, respect to them, and to all great Chinese over the world who are contributing to our community!

In China’s thousands of years of civilization. During those periods, the same mistakes were made. You don’t need to learn from any country if you think China is the greatest. We did not keep up with the industrial revolution in the world. So I am behind the world by a hundred years. Invaded and colonized by countries for decades. Now we deeply understand the importance of learning and openness. Because we don't want to have that kind of history anymore. @@maicholaa7482 I am not really sure whom you are talking about. Barretts and many independent reporters have been living for a long time and are still living in China. I myself had lived in China for sixteen years. Their descriptions about China reflects my experience in China, too. In contrast to their reports about China, I read a lot of lies about China made up by western Media in western countries. I personally feel so helpless and frustrated about that because I myself can't do anything against these lies about China. Therefore, I am very glad and thankful to Barretts and those people who report directly, independently and most of all, objectively from China about China. If they get money paid by RUclips for their objective work, that is what they rightfully deserve! In contrast to those so-called "independent" journalists (e.g. financed by American think-tank and CIA) who get paid dearly for intentionally making up malicious lies and thus spread hatred against China. If you are talking about me for being paid by RUclips, I have to disappoint you because I don't receive anything from RUclips. Should you have different experience in China than those of Barrett's, you are welcome to share with the world, as long as it's objective and true. We Chinese are not against negative reports about China, as long as it's objective and true. Those objective yet true negative reports about China even help China to improve itself! Serpenza once streamed a RUclips video about private illegal Chinese taxi drivers trying to scam foreigners in front of a train station. I myself was scammed once before by an illegal private taxi driver and paid much more than I should have. @Barrett - fascinating insights yet again, you guys have a pretty unique approach and it works so well and you keep on getting better, never stop what you're doing Barretts! The world needs to hear these positive real life stories / accounts coming out from China RIGHT NOW more than ever, before because Western mainstream media has decided it doesn't like China very much any more for whatever reason ( Simply jealous of how its becoming such a self-sustaining powerhouse in the world no doubt?!) So, keep on telling The Story of What China Is and indeed, what it's becoming... to broaden your horizon on China's deep and ancient origins ... one other thing, you could seriously consider doing is to meet up with someone like fellow British expat resident 'George Thompson', he's an ordinary British young guy living in China and basically takes a keen interest in the classic Chinese philosophy of Daoism (Taoism) - a philosophy that in fact has inspired alot of modern-day thinkers too such as Alan Watts etc. George came to live in China during the height of the worldwide pandemic, he's in the Wudang mountains and is equally as fascinating as you guys are, you should meet up for a chat with him, and learn something about the ancient Chinese culture of Taoism, it's fascinating stuff.... a meet-up between you guys and him would broaden your horizon on China, and his too... could only be a good thing!!
