It seems too many people who have never been to China think they are an expert on this country, I can't fathom it!? Feel very fortunate to have learned this lesson at a young age... do you have any similar experiences?
As a Chinese, I hope you can come to Xinjiang to travel very much. See for ourselves if the Communist Party is oppressing and enslaving the Uighur people as the Western media claims. The Uighur people would never imagine that they are living a happy life, but some say they are being imprisoned in concentration camps.
Yep... was told not to go to China for work by family before I left the UK... I was given all the reasons you could think of - and I am a black woman, so that made all the reasons given worse. My experience was far from anything they all expected! I had a very positive experience and absolutely love China.
Our friend in England, a loyal supporter, sent you an email on 8 January at 10:40 UK Time (18:40 Beijing Time). Thank you poem: Thank you for all you do for the communities; You make life better for people around you; Your continual acts of kindness brighten each day; What you do for people will glow in their memories.
Before I came to Switzerland, people said it's the best and welfare country in the world, but I found it wasn't ture for me. I more prefer living in China for its vibrant city life and marvious food.
I agree with you. My Father was in one of the first tourist tours of China in the 70s when it started opening up. He then visited again in the 80s and 2000s. He kept saying to me, you have to visit China. However, it was not until I visited China, I realized how brainwashed I was. It was nothing like I was led to believe during my education and also the media portrayed. I love China and and want to go back when we can start travelling again. Travelling is the greatest education in the world. Seeing is believing :) Love your Channel :)
Traveling experience is better than reading thousands books sometimes! I should say you have great experience than most of western people, and thank you for sharing that! Good luck with your family in China. China may not be the best country to live in, but it must be the most successful developing country in the world!
@@Ana71st Sadly, he passed away 8 weeks ago, however, Dad did live a wonderful life, and yes, was able to tell us some amazing stories. He was aged 92, close to 93. Now he travels in his next life :)
The more I learn about China, the more I realise there is still so much I don't know. I'm here to learn about China, try to understand this country, and expose myself to different lifestyles and opinions. Living abroad, especially in a country like China, which is so different to what we as Westerners are used to in our home countries, is a massive learning curve and also a great chance for personal development. After ten years here, I feel I've only just scratched the surface. At the same time, being away from home makes you appreciate where you come from more for various reasons, so I think that before I left Australia I didn't consider myself as a patriotic Aussie - but after living here, I now feel I am. Meanwhile, I've also grown to appreciate an entirely different culture and society - which is why I feel so strongly that we should all find a way to coexist peacefully. It is okay, and more than possible, to appreciate two ways of living, two countries, and two cultures at the same time. Different doesn't equal wrong, it is just different, and that is okay.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, I used to have no sense of belongings or even felt embarrassed of being Chinese... until 2003, I went to Beijing, learn about the history, the people, the culture and I was confused (because things are not the same as what I heard/thought)... on the last day, my sister and I went to see the flag raising in Tianamen Square... we both cried just watching the flag goes up, that's sense of belongings and I know... I found the root, I found my country... and I can tell you very proudly that I'm Chinese, not Hong Kong Chinese, not HongKonger... but, Only - Chinese !
It’s very touching to hear your story. I ran into a HK born Chinese Canadian on YT, who said his family had run away to Canada before 1997 take over, because they were afraid of CCP. And he was totally western minds full of that democracy and autocracy camp thing, I tried to explain how we feel about being a Chinese nowadays but why would I bother, he has his own value, just by told by people he would feel anything. I wish someday he can come to China and he said he’s afraid of poisonous food and milk of China, Oh gosh!
I am Tujia, one of the ethnic minority groups in China. My Mom is Miao and my dad is Tujia. My grandpa used to live in one of the poorest villages in Guizhou China, and he was the first generations to leave that village for city. I was born in a city in China and now I have been living in England for 5 years so far. Every time when I mentioned I am an ethnic minority Chinese they always asked me '"have you been to the concentration camps" "have your parents been forced to work" or "have you ever been tortured by CCP". I get really tired of answering this kind of questions, and I always tried to change their perception about China, but all ended up with "you have been brainwashed." So now I am trying to avoid any topics related to China. This is so sad.
You cannot change perception when all they hear about China is negative things from their media since the day they were born. If you are born in the west, you will think like them too. But it is also these perception that got China starting to get ahead of the west in many areas. People in the west believed that China is backwards and minorities are being suppressed and they lived with that false sense of superiority and continue to be complacent! Leave it, they will wake up one fine day, but that day will be too late for them to wake up.
Totally feel what you feel.. Most time when people ask me something about China I found they are not really interested in what's the truth about china but only looking for another reason to criticize. Now I was like, whatever, believe whatever you want to believe about China. At least its not going to hurt China but only hurt yourself eventually
I’m a non-Chinese Canadian and I’ve been to China several times and I can attest that you are 100% right that China is not the ‘bad place’ the western media and western politicians proclaim it is. The fact is that China is a country with hundreds of millions of intelligent people who are educated and industrious. The government of China is the CCP that rules the country with a unique governance system that works incredibly well for the 1.4 Billion Chinese citizens; the country is a mix of communism, socialism, and capitalism; and this mix works very well for China. No other country on planet earth is governed better than China, just look at their progress!!
First generation Chinese American, growing up was hard to embrace that but now I’m proudly to embrace being Chinese. I visited China 2 times, the last time was 2 years ago was supposed to go summer 2020 I am actually sad I can’t go for awhile.
As an Australian living in China, I still see comments made by people online, who really have absolutely no idea!! My mother worked here for 6 years before me, and although I never visited in that time, I was fairly well informed about life here. But there were still a whole lot of preconceived ideas I had, which it took actually being here to dispell. A great song by John Williamson, an Australian songwriter, has the line "Good news never made a paper sell", which sums things up beautifully. The only time we see China in the media in the west, it is the negative news, and whether the stories are accurate or not, some are, but many are not, it fails to show the great stories that far outweigh the negative!! It is a beautiful place, with beautiful people, and hopefully with channels like yours, and the videos I plan to start making soon, the outside perspective on China can become a fairer representation of what the country actually is!! Great work, only just found your channel, but I'm impressed with your work!! Keep it up!! 😄😄
As a Malaysia born chinese my grandparents are from China. When i was young through western education graduate from university of winnipeg at a younger age i was really ashame to be a chinese from all the negative things i read from western media. After me n family visited China few years back, i really understand how u feel. My siblings n parents love China so much they visited almost all major cities of china over the years, it became our family 1st choice of vacation. This is a great country believe me cos my family n me basically visited most part of this world - USA, Canada, Europe ,Australia and most of Asian countries. Our only blank is south America just being to Mexico. Watch ur channel for a while, doing a great job not for promoting China but tell people the truth about this country.
Welcome home brother.don't forget we are descendants of the dragon and the only oldest civilization in the world that has not been interrupted for five thousand years
as chinese I have never felt ashamed of my country, in Malayisa the richest people most hard working people are Chinese, same in Thailand, Indonesia, Philipines, they should be shamed of this. I only pity those who feel ashamed of their origins
I am also from Malaysia my dad is Chinese my mom is Portuguese Chinese I feel so proud of chinese history since my dad told me stories so I have been fascinated with China ever since been to many cities just love it such a rich culture there the people are great as well thx for sharing
yup, I'm HK chinese lived in the UK for a long time grew up holding the same prejudice against my own country. So I really thank people like you and your Dad, Matt, Cyrus, Gwailo60 for showing what is like on the ground and debunking the propaganda the west that has been pushing for decades. Thank you for the positivity and wish you and your dad the best
If there is a chance, I sincerely hope that you can come to see cities in China. Not only Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou or your hometown Hong Kong. As a Chinese in Tokyo, I still feel proud that I am a Chinese. I hope everyone can eliminate the prejudice in their hearts and come to China at the right time! I believe you will fall in love here.
Thank you for what you do. I’m Chinese American and I grew up feeling ashamed of being Chinese because of all the racism I experienced. When I went to college, I experienced racism from other Asians against Chinese and that was really disappointing because it was the first time I ever experienced that. RUclipsrs like Serpentza and others fed into my insecurities and the comment sections on youtube would make me feel so bad because people really expressed so much hate for Chinese people. It really messed up my mental health and I felt really insecure and depressed about that. Then I discovered channels like yours and it helped me so much over come that. I realize that the western media has demonized China and videos like your give me courage to hope. If only people would stop judging and being so ignorant...use their brains to think a little harder than to just believe everything they hear on the news. Please don’t stop what you are doing, it’s so important we have some positive videos on China amid the massive amounts of negative videos. I just want to people to know that Chinese people are also human beings deserving of dignity and respect.
Spot on brother! For me that’s one of the main reasons I want to travel the world. My opinions about China were so wrong and probably are about other places I’ve never been to before.
look up the channel 'china in focus' and you’ll see how it is there. this channel was paid for the trip to china, so obviously they had the best treatment possible.
Remember China is a massive country, it's hard to judge a country without being able to speak the language and not travelling the entire country to get a broad view.
I’m a Chinese international student in UK, and my girlfriend is a British. She totally agree with ur options somethings about China since I showed ur videos to her! I’m so proud of being a Chinese, especially when u were introducing what is real China on ur video! Thank u so much!!
I am a Chinese in my whole life. I’ve been to America for many times (6 times 2019). For many of western people I met, I wanted to say to them: we don’t expect you to like China, just please don’t lie about China. or maybe don’t help spread lies when you don’t know China. Being a Chinese, I was too conservative to say. Chinese people tend to avoid face to face conflicts, you know that.
@the Oracle of Delphi Of course we don't like talking about that, cuz thats not true. The media only let u know what they want you to know. The best way to know the truth is to go to China and see it yourself
@the Oracle of Delphi then you shouldn't make assumptions about a place if you have never been there. Fact check before you speak, and don't let personal experiences make you prejudiced against an entire group. The Chinese are actually very friendly although there are few exceptions, just like how there are westerners talking so negatively about China but the non-Chinese around me are actually very nice
@the Oracle of Delphi What I actually meant was that don't assume how a group of people is like just because of your experience with some of them. I do agree personal experience is good, that's why I told you the best way to know about Xinjiang is to go there
Barrett, I’m a Chinese Singaporean. Watching your videos has changed dramatically my thought about China. Now I’m extremely positive about China. Thank you👍👍👍
You are kidding me? You are a Chinese Singaporean, and then you don't know anything about China? I remember that lee kuan yew always talked about China in front of you guys and so many Singaporean had invested china after opening up of China. So i believe that most of you knew about China, from your neighbors johor bahru.
@@aaronlee8251 Chill out... :) we don’t mean no harm, the reality is there is still quite a cultural gap between Chinese-Singaporeans and Chinese-Malaysians, mainly due to the fact that we Chinese-Singaporeans are better in English but most of us are pretty terrible in Chinese, so we mainly take in English content (which has a western mindset), while it is the direct opposite for you guys, your Chinese is so good that back in my secondary school days (十多年前), the Malaysians ALWAYS get No. 1 in Chinese, not the Mainland Chinese students, you guys read and write in traditional Chinese, so you guys mainly take in Chinese content on the internet (which has a eastern/chinese mindset)
@@aaronlee8251 Reason he do not know enough about China is simply because he mostly read or see whatever news there is in RUclips.... from American media, reporters. Their job is to critisize and condemn China, that's why his knowledge of China was not much, wondering why Singapore LKY was so close to China.
@@aaronlee8251 It is normal that people in south east asia especially, know nothing about China. Because United SHITS of america's propaganda has penetrated deep into those countries. They have so many propaganda machines. From selling their bible to selling their hollywood movies.
I first visited China in 2003 and it was nothing like I thought it would be. No Mao uniforms no dour miserable people but a vibrant country building and developing at an amazing rate. People who were genuinely happy and friendly, who went out of their way to help me. I can't wait to go back again.
When I was in San Diego, I have a white friend who love to go to the beach. I told him that in my country, Indonesia, there are several good beaches that he should go. He told me, US is the greatest country on earth, and have the best of everything. Why would I need to go outside US just to find worse beach than what we have here. From that moment I realize it is useless to give them a rose if we need to break their nose. American are overly proud about themselves. I rest my case.
Best way to describe him is this Idiom in Chinese: 井底之蛙 Jǐng Dǐ Zhī Wā Frog in the well. Many American thought that they are the best and the world should emulate their way.
As a Chinese living in Canada, I have faced some discrimination over the years. I long ago accepted my heritage, my nationality, and my history. I went to school in China while in primary school, therefore when my friends talk about Xinjiang I know it isn't true. China is actually a very advanced country in a primitive development stage. Many young people's minds are disinformed about China from the Western media.
Yup most of my classmates believe the media as well. They don't even try to consider if it is fake or not. Whenever I tell them it is not true nobody believes me.
@@icewingdragon3297 The American's manipulations tactics are beyond what we think they are. With the Western media forming an alliance. They back all of the Chinese affiliated medias in the corner. People these days rarely do any thorough research anymore. They only follow the national news or a popular news source. This causes an anti-China news popularity among the masses. Currently, the master mind behind this is unknown, but this strategy deserves to be called a smart move.
Thank you Barrett for what you are doing. I used to live in Hong Kong and the very sad thing is so many HK people being connected to their mother land, they don’t bother to visit and see what is really happening in China, instead they listen and believe the misleading information about China painted by the western world and they hate their own country and refuse to admit they are Chinese..that is a tragedy!!! Wish more foreigner like yourself in China can speak up... thank you again!
I also had thought China is all bad and dangerous for years and years because I grew up feeling so. I did randomly stumbled across your channel when I started questioning the narratives from the western media as I never hear anything good about China which of course can't be true. Your channel is a great find as it showed me loads of modern China as well as the network of great RUclipsrs who want to show the real China. I now realised my impression of China was so unbelievably wrong and want my peers to know too. Thank you for your great work Ollie and Lee!!
Same here. I remember being so scared getting a Chinese visa and entering the border for the first time. Then after travelling into China, travelling, doing business and making friends... And speaking to real people, Uyghurs, everyday people... You realise the narratives in the mainstream media are complete BS
Many Chinese from China do comment or criticize the Chinese government, but usually, they won’t just simply do it in front of you unless you are close with them, or unless they found that you are someone able to talk to. Because most of them understand that the political views of each person even in the same country also could be very different. And sometimes, you will find it very surprising that the Chinese even know more than you, they even know the background or the history of the president of other countries (even just some small countries) if they interested to know about. And also sometimes you will find it very surprising that, their understanding of politics and history of the world and China itself even stronger than any foreigners (I am a Malaysian Chinese, not Chinese from China). Yes, there are some amount of Chinese not agree with CCP, and it’s a normal phenomenon, but many of them still understand that communism is a current system that is more suitable for China. (If you understand the flow of Chinese history, it‘s always apart, then combine, apart combine, apart combine, and the current situation is combining for their country. Dynasty Qing is combine then after that civil war between Guomindang and CCP is apart, then now is combine, and Chinese alway suffered during the period of apart). Chinese actually are very clever, yes the management part of CCP is without freedom of speech, but they manipulate a capitalism like of economic system in certain region of China, or slowly the whole China, otherwise, CCP won’t be survived until today. Try to track the Chinese history, the civil war alway more extreme than many western countries nowadays from the history. Each civil war, involved many millions chinese died. So this is the political views of Chinese. They don’t judge or comments if they don’t know. Something I admire that, sometimes I criticised my government in front of my Chinese friends, usually they don’t comment but just listen, they don’t comment if they do not know it. But for sure, certain amount of CCP irrational fans will attacked some countries like US, Japan, Australia or others which ever brought troubles to them. But usually the comments not as harsh as westerners. Unless you really make them very harsh. And one thing that I realised recently (I am studying in Shanghai now), they did collect opinions or suggestion (via certain form or survey) from the students regards the school, the system, lecturers and etc. My Chinese friend worked in a government water department, they did collect the survey or opinions from their customers, if the survey show that there are many negative Feedbacks, then they will change or reform the policy based on the majority opinions. So I think this is the way they collect opinion and do reform, I think this is also another kind of freedom for them.
@sarah LL Maybe you are not close with them yet, or maybe they found that you don't have the same languages like them. If you can understand Mandarin, Cantonese, or even Hokkien, you will know their opinion. And currently, the comments from Hong Kee and Taiwanese (of course not all) are very harsh towards CCP, I believe this is because how the media brainwash them China CCP is a devil. I was surprised that some of them even only have the impression of the 80s period of China. Not everyone willing to travel to other places even their "own country". The time they will tell you what they think is after you have a long talk with them during eating and drinking, this is how Chinese deal and interact if you want to know what's their drinking. If a Chinese willing to have a meal or drink with you that's mean they started to include you in their circle...
The main reason China is so successful & combined today is due solely to her excellent leadership under the Communist Party. I lived in Taipei for almost a year (in those days) under KMT, it's a mess, a shithole. China, without CPC, would never have made so much progress today, especially lifting almost a billion people out of poverty, that is totally impressive, unprecedented because this has NEVER happened in any country in the world including democratic countries where people get to vote & look at them. Oh, look at the homeless in the USA. How can your leaders look away and do nothing? Any elected government anywhere in the world, who did nothing abt growing hunger & homelessness is totally heartless.
Good speech Oli. As a Chinese living in the UK, how I see it is that the stronger China is the more proud I am being a minority here. I rather have this than not. I believe any ethnic group in the Uk would feel the same about their motherland and hope it can rise soon.

My daughter is half German half Chinese. I teach her Chinese, I spend time with her in China, I tell her our tradition, I bought her Qipao. She should be proud to be both in the future.
Chinese traditional attire is actually Hanfu instead of Qipao. Qipao belongs to the Manchurian people which is the minority in northern China and cannot represent the majority Han Chinese.
@@manonxiong5113 it's skinny fit that you could show your body shape which makes you look sexy, but it is just not the original Chinese custome like Hanfu.
Barrett you are correct. China is truly amazing country to visit. I myself is 3rd generation Chinese born in South East Asia in an English based environment, can't speak Mandarin, yet upon visiting China (2015, 2016, 2017) I was amazed by their culture, landscape varieties, had many lovely meals there and would very much like to visit China again. China is one of the few countries in the world with continuous history/cultures going back up to 5000++ years ago. So rich.
Though I grew up in the States, I'm lucky that my family has been adamant about teaching me Chinese and Chinese culture. If it weren't for such a strong support system, I don't think I'd be as proud of my heritage as I am.

For the past 10 years I've lived in America and I've always felt like I can't accept the Asian side of me (especially being Chinese) because of all the misconceptions. Even my dad has a lot of misconceptions about China, and he's full Chinese. Now I realize that America is actually in the wrong and China isn't as bad as they say. Also, I hate when Americans bring up that Chinese individuals aren't allowed freedom of speech. AMERICA DOESNT ALLOW FREEDOM OF SPEECH. If you end up saying anything that doesn't align with the majority, your life is pretty much over. I'm actually looking to move to China after university, maybe even during university. Hopefully I never have to deal with ignorant Americans after that, but I know it'll still happen.
@the Oracle of Delphi I...You know that Asians can be Americans, right? The reason that I havent moved yet is because I'm still financially dependent on my parents, if thats what you are asking.

@@网络连接无响应 The News we see here has shown some very disturbing reports from China. For instance we are disappointed that CCP did not honour the agreements on Hong Kong. Because the CCP has been in power since 1949, they have made many mistakes and even crimes. Between 1959 to 1961, nearly 40 million people starved to death. The anti-rightist movement of 1957 and cultural Revolution hurt almost all Chinese elites and intellectuals. Also the Tiananmen protests in 1989 when the CCP, under the direct order of Deng, used its army to shoot the people. No matter what, this is unacceptable to Chinese people. It is the People's Liberation Army, right? It is the people's country. Yet we see corruption within the party and the growing gap between the rich and the poor. In the future, when China transitions to a democracy, all of these will be seen as a the major mistakes or the sins of the CCP.

I’m a Chinese, studied for 7 years in Russia, and now living in Canada. I have suffered a lot in Russian for being a Chinese because of the social media , Thanks for your videos, appreciate, subscribed.
I've been to China four or five times. I've had both good and bad experiences there, but I can't wait to go back. I just hope that the US-Sino trade war doesn't make it harder for me to go. My visa is still valid for two years, but who knows after that...
I agree with you totally that one just has to go and see with their own eyes. I had prejudice before I had interactions with mainland China. China is changing in the speed that you can’t imagine! I love the place and people in China 🇨🇳
Thank you for introducing China! I have been in Canada for 5 years. I really like the introduction of you and your father. It also allows more Westerners to understand the real China. Although China has many imperfect places, I have worked in government agencies for more than 20 years. The current Chinese government is much better than before. I hope that one of my children can return to work in China in the future. Thank you very much!
Your mind is really very positive that you could even affect someone who is a Chinese herself by only seeing your video and that her mind changed from negative to positive upon her own country. You had done a very good job. Your subscribers are reaching 200k. Wish you every success!
I'm chinese and I grew up in china for 7 years and came to UK for 10 years, before when the Western Media spoke bad of China, my attitude was mutual but during the pandemic my attitude has changed towards China. (Video like yours and my own experiences going to China in a long time). China is my country and I won't let people speak bad of it, like everyone that protects their countries. Im proud of being Chinese and proud of China. Thank you for your videos, good people will have good karma, thank you 👍
Great video, you have brought a very important point that rather than trusting information from mass media, you have to proof it by your own eyes and ears.
I am always proud of being a Chinese. From my life in Europe for more than 10 years, even more clearer picture drawing in my mind. 有容乃大, Chinese core value is to respect, based on which we welcome all the different cultures to join and to flourish altogether, peaceful and happy life together Thank you for all you have done for making people around the world to understand better China. Amazing videos!!
I now live in US. In researching for Ugur cotton I stumbled on your channel, it's funny, down to earth, your commentaries (and with your dad) made me laugh, and brought me to many places and things I never heard of too. I thought I have been to Chongqing, and I grew up in Shanghai, but your video showed me new things and places fascinated me. It's really heart warming to see people with conscience and courage to explore the different aspects of the world, and see the world from the different angles rid of politics but with a great touch of humanity. Good job! Looking forward to more, and your journeys to Xin Jiang one day!
This is my first time leaving a comment in your channel cuz I am so impressed~ I am from Hong Kong and I got similar experiences and thoughts as you, many people from HK (especially younger ones like me) do not want to recognise themselves as Chinese and their perceptions to China are affected by the western media continuously. I used to have bad perceptions towards China in the past, but after watching lots of videos about China’s development, my thoughts changed, I know that we should not judge people only by its appearance and now I am looking forward to visit mainland. Thank you for bringing us to different places in China (that I want to visit for long) during the COVID hard times, I hope your videos can change more people’s values and perceptions towards China!
From Beijing myself. 正宗北京人儿。The sound of bicycles and the bustling of the streets bring nostalgia. I used to walk these streets myself and enjoy this city that I grew up in. Thank you so much for making these videos and showing people what China is really like! I wish more people can see them!
I had not been in China from 2014 to 2019... and I was shocked in 2019 how much China has been developed. You are completely right. Don’t judge if you have not been there including overseas chinese. Btw, your walking and talking Video is great. I always thought people have script when they talk to the camera. You walked through some really nice streets and still have high quality Video
As a Chinese, I'm so glad to see the amazing thing you are doing. Nothing could be more convincing than this, especially compared with Chinese themselves trying to remove others' preconceptions. Sometimes I would just give up because it's difficult to change the minds of people who have never been here but are confident enough in their judgments.
Hi Barret, so glad to watch your videos talking about your own real experiences in China. I am living in Canada. When I chat with people, I notice that if the people have visited China for either tour or business, most of the case they are expressing the happiness and excitement. For those who have never been there, they are mostly influenced by the local media to have labelled impression. So, go there to make a real experiense, then you can have your own thoughts. Thumb up for your actions!
Thank you for making videos about China. I have learned a lot about today's China from China loving RUclipsrs like the Barrets. Although we are so near mainland China in Hong Kong, we don't get the full picture if we don't really visit today's China. You are indeed changing lives.
Can't agree more! Thank you so much for letting others people outside China know how's the life here. There're so much misunderstanding and therefore, so many rediculous comments under some videos on RUclips. Sometimes I want to tell them that some of their ideas are so wrong and are definitely misleaded by the mainstream media in western, but most of the time I just ignore those sounds. But what you guys did here is absolutely meaningful.
As a Chinese native living in North America, I like this channel because of (1) the British accent, (2) the familiar Chinese streets/people. I am also glad to see several cities through their videos that I haven't got a chance to visit yet.
Great Job Oli!! Love you and your dad's channel. There are some truly unique places and people you've encountered in China. And as I write this... I can't believe I actually feel better about the country that I once had only ill-will towards. Continue this work where you help shape new perspectives and create a 'massive' paradigm shift brother!
It seems too many people who have never been to China think they are an expert on this country, I can't fathom it!?

As a Chinese, I hope you can come to Xinjiang to travel very much. See for ourselves if the Communist Party is oppressing and enslaving the Uighur people as the Western media claims. The Uighur people would never imagine that they are living a happy life, but some say they are being imprisoned in concentration camps.
Yep... was told not to go to China for work by family before I left the UK... I was given all the reasons you could think of - and I am a black woman, so that made all the reasons given worse. My experience was far from anything they all expected! I had a very positive experience and absolutely love China.

Yes, I agreed with you. First, there must be a change of government in Australia. This LNP is following Donald Trump taking Australia down the toilet.

Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear your experience. But China always welcome someone like you back. So think about it.
That's what they want you to do
You cannot change perception when all they hear about China is negative things from their media since the day they were born.

She says later in the interview that this is how around 70% of the CCP cadres feel. Don't be caught on the wrong side of history, or it will completely fuck your prospects for the future.
Q. You said that after changing the constitution to abolish term limits, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would die a death without a burial. What do you mean by that?
Cia Xia: China is bound to go through political transformation, toward democracy, political freedom, rule of law and constitutionalism. This is the inevitable trend of modern human political civilisation. China will enter this stage sooner or later.

You walked through some really nice streets and still have high quality Video
thank you so much, I'm from hong kong, more and more of my friends are talking about your channel, we all like your channel, thank you again
I love CHINA ❤ ❤ ❤
I support you!!
Thank you
thank you!
Welcome to China and visit our country
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing the positivity and changing someone's life
感恩你们父子让更多的人了解中国🇨🇳!
I am 100% behind you. From a Brit, living in Hong Kong, who has seen the false narratives, half truths and manipulation first hand.
Thank you for doing this and clearing up about China. I'm an oversea Chinese and I'm proud of my heritage.
