On July 12, 2021, the Washington Post published an article with this headline: “Hundreds of Thais inoculated with Sinovac are infected as cases spike in Southeast Asia”. Another typical Western media sensationalism tainted with cognitive bias to frame China in a bad light. In truth, the data released by Thailand is a very good testimony of Sinovac’s efficacy of 99.9% for Thailand's frontliners who are being exposed everyday, 12-hrs a day, 7 days a week, to the deadly Cov-SARs-2. While the writer did not distort statistic that of out of 677,348 who had been inoculated, 618 were infected, and one nurse has died and another worker is in critical condition. But what is missing? Let's do a simple mathematics on this data - 618 out of 677,348 = 0.09%. In other words, more than 99.9% (100 - 0.09 = 99.91) did not get infected. One out of 677,348 died, that means the fatality rate is almost negligible. Even if you include the critical case, it would still be negligible. This is how the Western media works, by distorting statistics, and worst, fabricating falsehoods. That indeed is propaganda!

Cyrus, I think the “Shanghai Disney” analogy is apt. Headline writers can draw in more readers by sensationalism, or use of fear-inducing words. Shorthand for this is “clickbait” on the Internet. Anti-China content creators are very clever in doing so, and eliciting emotions, generating both hate and fear. It’s also an effective diversionary tactic if a political faction in a certain country wishes to have people look away from their own internal failures, creating a scapegoat. It’s a tried and true approach by countries that are weak or failing. Blame the “other” for their own problems. It’s counterproductive for that country, and ultimately dangerous. As you said in the video, we have to hope for more level heads and change from this confrontational path, which can lead to conflict, possibly with catastrophic results. What you and expat China vloggers are doing is pro-peace, and that should be good enough for anyone!

I talked to a new friend about traveling in China a few days ago, he stated he'd never go to China, his rationale is that he is afraid that Chinese govt will snatch him up and put him in the jail. My friend is a pilot captain at American Airlines. She flew to Australia in May, she texted us what happened in Australia once she landed: the police escorted them to the shuttle bus, then directly to the hotel. The police told them they must stayed in the hotel only until they flew back to the U. S in 12 hours later. They are not allowed to step outside their rooms . Otherwise, they ended up in the jail. That is in Australia! How come nobody said about it? In the western eyes, every thing that China did was wrong, evil. They hate to see good things about China.

After about 6 months here it suddenly dawned on me that the western media, all of it, is selling a false narrative about China. China now has the biggest middle-class globally. China is today the safest, most peaceful and harmonious country to live in. Because of the achievements of the Chinese government, it has the approval rating of over 95% of its citizens - compare that to western nations which are normally significantly below 50%. I'm Aussie. I appreciate your honesty and it seems to fit what I find when I research and my experiences with people more than other media channels. Especially when you go back and see the effort the Chinese and Russian folk went through to please the West, more particularly the Americans. Only to get their efforts dismissed and aggression focussed towards them for their effort. Seems being kind and passive makes them think they can walk all over them.

Australians behave in such a manner because of its Anglo-Saxon lineage. All along, a majority of the people fear the word "communism", and have been brainwashed since young. Communism is an ideology much like Democracy. It depends on how one perceives the ideology they believed in. However, people must respect and do not interfere each other's system. The world is changing, let alone the two ideologies - how Democracy been abused and how Communism improves the living standards of the Chinese citizens. As an ordinary Chinese who lives abroad for over ten years, I don't have any memories of western media reporting one single positive news about China. And I sadly observed how ordinary western people were manipulated by all those negative news about China. I don't blame them for that because I understand how difficult it is to stay neutral and objective while growing up with those news. I lived in China for 6 months, I was there to study and train and loved it. I would have been happy to stay much longer, I found the people, the culture and the country all very welcoming and interesting. Were there issues at times? Yes however I faced less issues than those I've witnessed visitors to my own country have faced. I find people are usually much more open minded than the media would have us believe. China is one of my favourite places that I've visited and would love to return one day. Unfortunately the MSM have removed the veil of objectivity to reveal they are just propaganda machines and sadly it has become so blatant. I'm a foreigner who's been living in China for 8 years already and I am proud to say I LOVE CHINA! People who do not bother to learn about China or to visit the country (after COVID) to experience it for themselves, and prefer to gullibly believe the anti-China media, are losing out on an amazing country with amazing people, an excellent standard of living and a thousands year old culture. Unlike some countries like the US, UK, France etc. China hasn't fought a war for over 40 years, the Chinese people have concentrated their efforts on bringing 100s of millions of people out of poverty and by doing so contributed tremendously to a growing world economy. This is a succinct explanation of how western media use framing bias and slant to influence public opinion.
On July 12, 2021, the Washington Post published an article with this headline: “Hundreds of Thais inoculated with Sinovac are infected as cases spike in Southeast Asia”.
Another typical Western media sensationalism tainted with cognitive bias to frame China in a bad light.
In truth, the data released by Thailand is a very good testimony of Sinovac’s efficacy of 99.9% for Thailand's frontliners who are being exposed everyday, 12-hrs a day, 7 days a week, to the deadly Cov-SARs-2.
While the writer did not distort statistic that of out of 677,348 who had been inoculated, 618 were infected, and one nurse has died and another worker is in critical condition.
But what is missing? Let's do a simple mathematics on this data -
618 out of 677,348 = 0.09%.
In other words, more than 99.9% (100 - 0.09 = 99.91) did not get infected. One out of 677,348 died, that means the fatality rate is almost negligible. Even if you include the critical case, it would still be negligible.
This is how the Western media works, by distorting statistics, and worst, fabricating falsehoods.

Anti-China content creators are very clever in doing so, and eliciting emotions, generating both hate and fear. It’s also an effective diversionary tactic if a political faction in a certain country wishes to have people look away from their own internal failures, creating a scapegoat. It’s a tried and true approach by countries that are weak or failing. Blame the “other” for their own problems. It’s counterproductive for that country, and ultimately dangerous. As you said in the video, we have to hope for more level heads and change from this confrontational path, which can lead to conflict, possibly with catastrophic results. I'm Aussie. I appreciate your honesty and it seems to fit what I find when I research and my experiences with people more than other media channels. Especially when you go back and see the effort the Chinese and Russian folk went through to please the West, more particularly the Americans. Australians behave in such a manner because of its Anglo-Saxon lineage. All along, a majority of the people fear the word "communism", and have been brainwashed since young. Communism is an ideology much like Democracy. It depends on how one perceives the ideology they believed in. However, people must respect and do not interfere each other's system. I lived in China for 6 months, I was there to study and train and loved it. I would have been happy to stay much longer, I found the people, the culture and the country all very welcoming and interesting. Were there issues at times? Yes however I faced less issues than those I've witnessed visitors to my own country have faced. I find people are usually much more open minded than the media would have us believe. China is one of my favourite places that I've visited and would love to return one day. Unfortunately the MSM have removed the veil of objectivity to reveal they are just propaganda machines and sadly it has become so blatant. I'm a foreigner who's been living in China for 8 years already and I am proud to say I LOVE CHINA! People who do not bother to learn about China or to visit the country (after COVID) to experience it for themselves, and prefer to gullibly believe the anti-China media, are losing out on an amazing country with amazing people, an excellent standard of living and a thousands year old culture. You will never know the truth about China until you experience it for yourself. And yes, we are all sick and tired of the anti-China narrative that anti-China media are putting out there.

He started tilting once he moved to Texas. Many people have noticed his change in stance on many issues, not only US China relations. Someone suggested that is because the people he is hanging out with. Joe isn't a smart guy, not in the sense of Cyrus, but he is willing to discuss it which is great. However, since his move to Texas, whomever he has been hanging out with is shaping his new perspective.
Appel, Joe Rogan has been a racist all of his life! He didn't all of a sudden becomes an anti-China racist recently. He's been that way for a very long time! I remember several years ago when Dana White called Bruce Lee "The father of MMA", racist Rogan couldn't help himself and took that opportunity to bash Bruce Lee by saying Bruce Lee wasn't a real martial artist and that Gene LeBell (A professional wrestler) was a real martial artist that taught Bruce Lee everything he knew! When you hear Rogan talks about Bruce Lee you get a deep sense of white superiority complex in his attitude. As if no Asians could ever be better than white people in anything! A racist like Joe Rogan is slick enough to not get himself into trouble by overtly spewing racist slurs against Asian people or other races that he doesn't like, but you can tell the racism in his heart is a lot more intense than what he outwardly shows. He is the kind of guy that could insult a racial minority by saying racist things with a big smile on his face and in a joking kind of way so that people would not notice the level of hate that he feels in his heart. But I can tell Rogan is the kind of guy that freely spews racist things about ethnic minorities in his own home and freely uses racial slurs as well when he is among close friends because I have met a lot of guys like him.

France etc. China hasn't fought a war for over 40 years, the Chinese people have concentrated their
efforts on bringing 100s of millions of people out of poverty and by doing so contributed tremendously
to a growing world economy. The US has over 600 military bases and installations around the world,
China has....... one (1). We all have to do our part by vlogging, making comments and simply talk
about this whenever and where ever we can. Let's not slide into another stupid and totally
unnecessary cold war. There is too much at stake for us, our kids (my son is half Chinese too),

I try to avoid any media that utilizes fear mongering. For a while I was watching a lot of fear based media thinking I was ok keeping the perspective that I was watching for entertainment (but intuitively straining anything that might be true). But on an unconscious level it was messing with me. When I stopped watching negative media coverage I felt so much better emotionally. Factual, unbiased coverage should definitely be standardized and I hope the Disinformation Governance Board addresses this.

As a Chinese who works and lives in Japan for a long time, I am also shocked that not only the western but also the Japanese and Korean media are like this, they can always put a negative spin on a very common event to report on China, after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, it was obvious that NHK, BBC, DW, CNN, etc. were overwhelmed with false reports, and every day we saw and heard so many false and negative reports that the Japanese people's goodwill towards China was at an all-time low. On the contrary, during this period China has been the biggest promoter of goodwill towards Japanese society, the beauty of the Japanese country and culture, which made Japan has become the most popular country for Chinese tourists abroad.
More and more it seems that this is a targeted and premeditated campaign against China by the Western politicals. So there is no such thing as truth or untruth. To say that China is bad is to be politically correct.
