It's so nice as a newly abroad student seeing you guys in my home city. You should try the new driver-less cars! (i dont know if thats how you say it lol) but yeah its called 萝卜快跑, you can get one and they are very cheap and convenient too! It would be fun to try!
I've been to China four times already and knew this. Yet, most of my co-workers, neighbors, and friends (in the USA) don't believe me that China is a great place to visit. They think my photos and videos are only of "what the Chinese want me to see". Does not matter that I keep telling them I was free to walk around these areas, unescorted. They further refuse to believe me when I say China overall has cleaner looking streets and public parks than what we currently have in America. All of a sudden... I find myself surrounded by "China experts" who make ignorant statements like "the Chinese are all starving and live in old run down deteriorating dirty looking cities". The other ignorant thing I often hear is "The poorest Americans live better than the average Chinese". They say this and yet has never visited China once. Thanks to folks like you who post these videos to try and balance out all of the lop sided negative propaganda fed to people in the West by the news media on a daily basis.
Most of Americans, like more than 60% never had a passport, never steps outside of America. Everything they know about the world is from their mainstream media propaganda, like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC….etc. Mark Twain once said, it is very hard to convince Americans with facts, but very easy to fool them with lies. So you have it, the intellectual capacity of the average Americans. Sad.
Right now in June 2024 there are at least a dozen MURCANS!/westerners trekking around China and uploading it to youtube: "Alan and Shannon" " Sun Kissed Bucket List" "Two Mad Explorers" ""Sammy and Tommy" "On Tour with Dridgers". Just do a search for Shanghai, Bejing, some Chinese city and you'll get plenty of returns of MURCAN/western visitors.
They image China is a dystopian society like what George Orwell depict in novel 1984. In fact it is themself brainwashed by western mainstream media propaganda.
Nice! I'm an American thats been living in China since 2018. I try to tell everyone on the internet, the China is not at all the way we were taught it was. It's honestly a great place. Within my first 3 years in China I was able to buy a new home, and a new car. My wife is Chinese and I honestly can't see us ever moving back to the US
@isaiahmcclure8894 cool, now imagine you are not a white skin foreginer but rather a rural migrant Chinese worker in an iPhone factory or worse yet, a black African in canton. Wonder if you would still feel the same way.

Be prepared for the trolls, there will be questions coming to you like "how much CCP pays you ?", "is the color of the sky under lens ", "are you under surveillance all the time". Just ignore those trolls, hope you have a very good time in China.
Be forewarned, every blogger who travels to China is frequently asked one question: how much money do you receive from the Chinese government? Although the questions were in English, the questioners were mainly from the Internet Army in Taiwan, China.
@@eileenshen1760 That's because it's false and complete nonsense. Note that he writes at the end "Taiwan, China". This guy is pro chinese gov't. Mostly, those who accuse vloggers of being paid in the comments are sinophobic westerners.
False. Real travel bloggers who just want to explore China rarely get hassled about being shills for the CCP. However, when "travel" bloggers bring up how unfair western media is toward China (it isn't, and westerners don't talk like that anyway) and or compares infrastructure in a way that makes China look great (travel bloggers would never do that) or bring up something political (again, travel bloggers don't do that) then they are shills and deserve everything coming their way. If if a blogger stays away from the PRC talking points and just shows China in all its glory, then everyone is good.
I have been to Beijing, and there are many historical sites and palaces from the last century in Beijing. Unlike the prosperity of Shanghai, Beijing is more of a political and cultural center. I also want to visit Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Chengdu. There are many scenery in China that are really great.
Friends from Britain, you are very welcome to travel to China. In the video, the countdown to the traffic light shows the change of traffic light in the video. In fact, big data's technology is used. When many cars stop at a certain traffic light one after another, he will know that this time has become a red light, combined with the previous vehicle parking time, it is easy to achieve how long the traffic light will change color in the future. It doesn't need to be connected to government surveillance or anything like that. So you don't have to think about it. In addition, you mentioned that there are very many cameras on the street. There is no doubt that this is true. There are many kinds of cameras. The first is traffic violation cameras, the second is road surveillance cameras, which mainly prevent thieves, and the third is big data comparison and face recognition. Naturally, it plays a monitoring role, but the number of these cameras is small, mainly concentrated in public areas. Personally, I think that in fact, many foreign friends are not completely Chinese, and foreign reports are not entirely correct. Once again, welcome to China. Have a nice trip in China. Thank you.
@@GeorgeWang-w9h You don't have to explain so much, RUclipsrs themselves use cameras in public, and they have no reason to criticize, not to mention that there are more cameras in London
@@GeorgeWang-w9h You are right. Foreign travelers who come to China have two misunderstandings. One is that there are cameras everywhere. In fact, most public cameras are used for traffic management and belong to the traffic police system. The second is that there are police everywhere. In fact, there are very few police patrolling the streets in Chinese cities. The ones you see in uniform are just auxiliary police or security guards. They have no law enforcement power.
I’m british and I went to Bejing for work 9 years ago and met a Chinese girl who I married and have a son with. Her dad works for the government in China (local mid level) which got me some amazing perks such as touring some government buildings which not many foreigners see. Met my wife on the metro she worked in one of the offices near me and she walked into me by accident. Spilt coffee all over my suit and she insisted she dry cleaned it for me. Picked it up at her apartment and went from there. Had no intention of meeting a Chinese woman so it’s amazing how life can take you one direction. Currently live near Basingstoke UK.
3:34 The cameras are for traffic use. Some are video sensors to control the traffic lights. Some are to capture illegal traffic behavors. The two guys mustn't know which city has the most density of cameras in the world. It's London.
That’s interesting to know we aren’t from London and didn’t know that, nothing negative about the cameras just observation which is different from home
I am Chinese, but I ‘m from the south of China. And I have never been to Beijing, cause China is so big. I think your video is very objective and real.Hope u have a nice trip!
It feels like you're not appreciating the city, but rather inspecting it. The way you're checking out each landmark, trying different transportation and food, all seems like you're conducting an audit. I think you should relax more and embrace the history and delicious food of Beijing with an open heart. It would make your trip much more enjoyable.
I am from Australia and find them to be annoying with their comments. Most of the high end shopping malls in China seem to display with English words only. In the local restaurants, of course it is only logically display the menu in Chinese only since their customers are mostly locals. It is the same as in Japan South Korea, Indonesia and most non-english speaking countries. They should relax and start enjoying the themselves there.
I have a rental house in China, 10$/day with 120 square meters, well transportation, communication, and public security. I have lived in China for 10 years. It's a really suitable place to live. I help my friends who are interested in China to quickly adapt to the local lifestyle.
The safety metro officers are helpful because it stops stampedes from occurring when there are a lot of people. Allows everyone to move freely in and out. We all saw the stampedes that happened on Korea a few years back that killed alot of students.
Btw, London has the MOST security cameras per capita in the WORLD, so I found it interesting that you two focused on the cameras in China. Personally, I love cameras since I don’t plan on committing a crime and the camera footage will keep me safe. Here in America, over and over again, we search video footage in order to solve a crime. In New York City, we are installing MORE cameras because of the rampant crime rates, no one blinks an eye about it. We don’t need to be overly sensitive to the cameras in China, we really are NOT that important for anyone looking at us. Don’t forget, there are over 1.4 billion people, who has the time to watch over everyone. Replaying footage after a crime has been committed is helpful, no different from what we do in the 🇺🇸
Hey, I never said it was negative thing to have cameras just pointing out something which I am not used to, as you say it can make it very safe. We felt extremely safe in China, more so than many other countries we’ve been to!
@@Joelfriend In a big city like Beijing, if you are robbed, the police will solve the case quickly. Cameras are very common in China. Many people who work away from home will install cameras at home so that they can see their homes remotely and talk to their elderly parents through the cameras.
My Irish friend visited China, had no knowledge of the language but had a spiffing good time. He said he relied on the kindness of strangers to get around...even with language barrier LOL. Super reasonable metro price, so he went everywhere in Chengdu 😄
China doesn’t only have Beijing and Shanghai, there are cities not advanced developed like them. You can travel to these small cities, but I believe the experience there will also attract you!
That warm in the "warm" tip has no direct English translation. Those two words,溫馨, means something like a feeling of warmness derived from thoughtfulness/care. A more colloquial translation would be "Gentle Reminder"
Fun fact: The most surveilled country in the world is Singapore, and the most surveiled city is London. You can search it yourself using GOOGLE and there will be data to prove it. But the Western media only criticizes China and says that Chinese people have no freedom. But Chinese women can still eat barbecue outside at 2 o'clock in the morning. This is impossible in London. The most important aspects of monitoring are traffic monitoring and safety monitoring. The main thing on the roads is traffic monitoring to deter drivers from driving fast.
The cameras on the roads in China are used to record speeding and running red lights, and the cameras on the streets are used to record if a thief has a dispute or criminal case, which can help the police solve it faster. Westerners always say that China has many cameras. If you don't commit a crime, who would care about those? And the camera can also provide you with safety, because bad people with cameras cannot do anything to you.😊😊
Another function of the camera is to automatically collect parking fees and fine illegal parking. Every time I see illegal parking on the roadside, my wife will complain: Why doesn't the government install a camera here?
For the noodle, that is ZhaJiangMian. The sauce is fried pork and bean sauce. You need to mix the sauce with the noodle. It is my favourite noodle dish.
Just came from your video on the plank wall. Thank you so much for these videos. They are so realistic and useful. I also really love your enthusiasm and the excitement you demonstrate when trying out things for the first time. As others have said, China is indeed an amazing country with such a tremendous mix of old and new. When I visited Shanghai around 2010 I was amazed at how beautiful and organized the country was. The people were amazingly friendly. My wife and I walked all over the city using their extensive subway system. The food was amazing. And at no time, nor at any time did it feel even slightly sketchy. It is true, like you mention, there are cameras everywhere and this might make people feel like "Big Brother" is watching. But the benefits are definitely worth it. The Chinese have learned a lot from us culturally. I think we could definitely learn a bit or two from them two. Yin and Yang. Thanks again for the great videos.
Thank you for the kind words!! it's been more than a decade since your last visit and there are great changes everywhere. come and visit again! Welcome!!
China undergoes tremendous changes each year, and we are working hard to progress. It has been over a decade since you last visited China; there is no racial discrimination here, and each region boasts its own scenery and culinary specialties. We sincerely invite you to travel here again, and we promise you will discover a brand new China!
As Chinese people, we never boast about how convenient and comfortable our lives are on social media. Our 5000-year-old culture has always taught us to be diligent, kind, harmonious, responsible, and filial. We love our neighbors, friends, small families, and our large family (the country). This culture allows us to disregard others' smears, except for Japan. China has a variety of delicious foods, beautiful scenery, and profound cultural heritage. We welcome everyone to visit China and learn about it. The fake news on social media has created deep prejudice among many foreigners who have never been to China. We don’t expect everyone to understand China, but we hope that after visiting, you can learn more about our history and culture. Then you will understand why China has achieved such tremendous development and progress. We welcome you to give us more rational and critical suggestions, as China is not a perfect country and has its shortcomings. Perhaps from your perspective, you can identify more of our shortcomings, and our government will gradually improve and continue to enhance the quality of life for our people. Thank you!
I fell in love with your country and the wonderful people there. The culture was so fascinating. We were welcomed by everyone and they were so friendly. I would so love to visit again some day.

Instead of believing what the media reports, why don't you go and see for yourself? I find it very annoying how Westerners complain that CCTV surveillance in China is intimidating, but they have no problem with CCTV surveillance in New York City and London, which are also the most surveillance-intensive places in the world. Prejudice much?
This is not to annoy the two bloggers here by saying that I got mugged on the London tube when I was there the first day. Whilst in china everywhere is safe and convenient.
The west use electronic prints and big data network to monitor people, in addition to not so many hard cameras on streets. It may make people feel better but that's the same function in management
I am a Chinese, I really really hope that friends from all over the world come to China, China welcomes you, China is really very beautiful, very safe, very modern
I'm so glad you guys got the proper visa. The 144-hour transit visa is not long enough to see even one major Chinese city. I think 4 weeks is a decent amount of time to visit China; you can probably visit 6-8 different places.
I've been to China for work six times, totally about 9 months. That's not enough time to explore a country like Portugal, much less a country as vast and varied as China. But at least the 144-hour visa is a start.
The massive presence of safety cameras and police stations ensure the safety of the city 24/7, law-abiding people have no worry of being attacked or robbed, whatsoever, day time or at night. That's why you can walk freely, alone, in a Chinese city even midnight with no trouble at all.
I have seen vids produced by China bashers purporting to show homelessness in China, but the people who are sleeping on the street ( for whatever reason ) all have nice looking sleeping bags, and lack all the junk and debris associated with street living. BTW, they looked clean too.
I am Chinese in Shanghai, and we are very glad that more and more foreigners come to China and love China. Welcome to China! Also I want to say that I'm a local Chinese guide. If someone want to visit Shanghai from July to August or during January, you can contact with me here, I love helping everyone to know more about China❤❤❤
Oh you guys are lucky. The first restaurant in the video is Guilanfang(桂兰芳) restaurant, kinda of famous in this neighborhood for their braised chicken. Really delicious.
What a fantastic start to your journey! 🇨🇳 I really appreciate how you’re capturing your honest first impressions of the city. It’s so important to approach China with an open mind, especially when media representation often focuses on stereotypes or limited viewpoints. Beijing alone has such a rich mix of ancient history and modern innovation-it’s a city that can’t be fully understood from just pictures or headlines. As you explore, I’m excited to see how you share the complexities of China-showcasing not just the well-known landmarks, but also the everyday life, culture, and the people that make this country so unique. It’s refreshing to see more objective, well-rounded perspectives. This series is a great chance to show the real, multifaceted China that’s often overlooked. Can’t wait to see more of your journey from the North to the South!

China is a very suitable country for retirement This country is bigger than you think. You can spend decades traveling there. Each region has completely different scenery, food and culture. The country offers views of deserts, oceans, forests, plateaus and canyons. So amazing. The only disadvantage of China is that the work pressure is very high🥲
@@ZhengTheSkyCat It's intriguing to observe how individuals influenced by the CCP engage in controversial actions that attract global criticism. There's a certain irony in seeing Chinese citizens act as though China isn't simply a self-proclaimed communist state.
Do not mind the staff in uniform in the subway; they are there to help passengers. If you notice someone next to you playing music or videos loudly on their phone, and you feel uncomfortable directly reminding them, you can signal the staff. They will politely but firmly stop the person's inconsiderate behavior. If there is a quarrel or even a fight in the subway (though this is very rare), the staff will promptly intervene. In the past, it was common to see people begging in the subway (who might also take the opportunity to watch your pockets). This was a difficult phenomenon to control, but now you won't see beggars in the subway at all. Believe me, during the era when begging was prevalent, many beggars could afford to buy 2-3 apartments through their begging.

as being born and lived in beijing for most of my life for more than 40 years. I'd say, most of the beijing style restaurent is ok. e.g. xiao diao li tang(小吊梨汤), or na jia xiao guan(那家小馆). there is no need really to go to the very busy ones.
I was quite surprised when I first visited Beijing in December 2015. Absolutely like it. Yes, under surveillance but I have nothing to hide so I feel very safe. For the Peking duck, usually the essense is the skin, not the meat. If you go to the right branch you may not need to queue at all. I went to one around Wang Fu Jing area and I went in alone, ordered one whole duck, finished it, and satisfied for the rest of the day. China is no longer what others perceived to be any more. I went there with similar mentality and found that Chinese cities are very modern, people well behaved (in big cities; in contrary to tourists we met outside of China; and I do speak Chinese so may help a bit), helpful and friendly. To me, it is more modern than American cities as a matter of fact. Everywhere you got to pay digitally, although cash is still acceptable (due to the government's requirement/directive). For the nay sayers, forget politics, visit there and see for yourself.
I am a Chinese and Beijing is a very nice city. I suggest that you can visit some other places in China next time. China is a very wonderful country. You can travel to any province in China and every province will leave you with endless aftertastes.❤
The hot water is probably for you to wash yr cutleries before you eat, and not for you to drink. Many Chinese restaurants do that. That is why it is boiling hot,

What a video! I appreciate you covering the small but still relevant details for travellers like needing to show your ID on the metro and the police everywhere. Also cool to see that red light countdown on the Chinese Uber, never seen that before either. Looking forward to the rest of your Chinese adventures!
But I'm confused here.. I'm Chinese and lived in Beijing for years about ten years ago, I now live in Australia go back to China every year, I also watch many vloggers visiting china recently. But never ever knew or heard about anyone need to show ID to get into Metro...I saw many vloggers in different cities in China get around by metro just getting tickets at the self serve machines. BTW, more police in Beijing because it's the capital the political centre, and also they're near Tiananmen which is like the white house in US. Not the case in elsewhere in China. Plus a lot of uniformed people you see are not police anyway, they're security guards.
if you wechat you should be able to pay for metro tickets using wechat. But if you can get Ali pay going it will be better. As it is more user friendly... Things converted into English for you and maps for you in English.
Congrats on being adventurous and going for it. We first went 40 years ago so quite a shock seeing it so clean and uncrowded. Even took our eldest when he was one year old, and getting followed by large crowds just see him. Off to BJ next week for a weeks treat.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I like how you shared honestly what you observed in Beijing, unlike other RUclips videos with lots of exaggeration. I truly enjoy this video that make me feel like planning a trip to Beijing myself!
Yes, China is indeed good, but many people don't know about it. Therefore, today I have made a Chinese teaching video to help everyone better understand China❤❤❤
The difference between small cities and large cities in China lies only in scale. The purchasing power is similar, and in fact, small cities, especially when living in one's own home, do not require rent. Although the salary may be lower, there is no rent expense, so the purchasing power may actually be better than that of workers in big cities.
As a matter of fact, it's common to use either chopsticks or spoons when eating in China, and you can choose any of them for convenience. If you eat chicken rice with a spoon, you won't look like a foreigner anymore. Take it easy. Honestly, most Chinese people use chopsticks to eat foods that are difficult to scoop up with a spoon, such as noodles and soup.
The surveillance on the road is used to capture vehicles driving illegally, such as speeding, not wearing seat belts, answering and making phone calls while driving, and changing lanes at will. If these are captured, points will be deducted and fines will be imposed. If you do not violate the law, you will generally not investigate the surveillance😂
“Generally", they don’t investigate the surveillance. It’s disheartening to see the state of affairs in your country. When they do choose to investigate, they don’t need an excuse. It’s naive and indicative of brainwashing to say otherwise.

In fact, there is no need to visit this kind of famous restaurant because you pay extra "premium" for it's reputation. On the contrary, you can pick up those intermediate level restaurants which also can provide good quality food. Maybe not so good like what in famous restaurant Quanjude, but still can provide good quality food close to those in famous restaurant, like 80%~90% close to famous restaurant.Their price will be more reasonable and you don't have to wait for a long queue.

Fire masks are a must in Chinese hotels, and they are usually placed in cabinets. If time permits, you can go to Dali, find a homestay, sit on the rooftop and drink a cup of tea, admire the Erhai Lake, or rent an electric bicycle and ride around the Erhai Lake. Believe me, no matter what troubles you have, you will forget them.
1) The warm tips, it means "kindly reminding" or smt like that. 2) The cameras over the road, basically for monitoring all the cars to see if there're violation of the traffic regulation. Of course there're also camera in the streets to monitoring the situation of pedestrian, but actually there won't be a man who sit all day just to check everything you done, cause there aint this much police to go through all this (just imagine how many streets in China). These are more for the case that if there's some crime committing in the related area, the police gonna find the video recorded in some streets to find out what happens. But that doesn't work sometimes. During my high school l lost my cellphone somewhere in the streets, but the police tell me that those cameras aint working there, so... I was sad cause Iphone6 plus is quite expensive for a student. 3) Beijing is really a big city, there are areas with historical places, high-end CBD area, and romantic and beautiful places like bars and live houses, like in Houhai block. Got to try them if you have time. 4) If possible, you guys can try the cities like Chengdu, where keeps the panda and so many great dishes, or the cities in Guangdong province, always great foods and beautiful sightseeing. If you can't stay for a long time, maybe try some cities in DongBei, the people there are the most hospitable in China. 5) Actually most of the people will like to give help to you, just ask them if you got troubles. Even they don't speak English, they would try to find someone who knows English to help(Yes that occurs to me many times) . And don't hesitate to ask help from police, they have got used to all kinds of strange requests. 6) Popular restaurant could keep you waiting so many time, cause there are some many people. Next time if you're in hurry or have other arrangement, just ask the receptionist that how much time you have to wait. And there are really soooooo many great restaurants, like for peking duck, so you don't have to wait that long just for a dishes.( But of course if you just wanna try this restaurant, that seems OK, up to you) Have a great time there!
Restaurants that are popular usually don’t take reservations, especially the ones that serve Peking Duck. The best time to go is around 10.30 when they opens up or 3.30pm in the afternoon
You both are brave and adventurous. Don't be afraid asking for help, Chinese are usually friendly and helpful, because of low crime rate the police are more like security guards to keep the city run orderly, they are friendly a bit different from ones in western countries. People may come up to you for photos because they don't get too much exposure with foreign visitors, or just want to brag about it with other aunties they've come into contact with a foreigner. 😂 Don't get offended with people staring at you, they are just curious as I mentioned above, nothing malicious, you can tell by the expression on their face with smiles. I hope you have a translator app on your device it will help a lot in communication. Wish you both have a wonderful experience in China.
3:44 these camera are used for traffic. I don’t understand why some western tourists are so nervous or so concerned about the security cameras…I mean, no one would sit behind and watch every camera 24/7.

Police presence at major tourist sites is expected. But New York City with National Guard carrying loaded weapons in the metro is unexpected and shows the world that USA’s crime rate is out of control

tip for you, wechat have photo translation, and there are a lot of other apps can do it (youdao or probably just google translation if you are using a non-chinese simcard for data), you can also use apps for voice to voice translation.
It's going to be even more convenient soon when we enter the 5G+AI era, you can expect a lot more tourist friendly features like services bots and tourist apps for translation. In order to actually get a "real taste" of food, you probably need a local tour guide if you are up for a serious food hunt. Anyway, I hope both of you enjoyed the trip.
9:26 that noodle you had, you’re supposed to pour the oil of the sauce into the noodle first, mix, then pour all of the rest in. It’s called Zhajiangmian in China, and the flavor of the sauce is strong in the north. Mixing them all at once is a better way to taste it.

Aactually the portrayal of China by those western Media shocked me.
Sad.
The truth-tellers in Western countries will never be China experts.

We don’t need to be overly sensitive to the cameras in China, we really are NOT that important for anyone looking at us.
And the camera can also provide you with safety, because bad people with cameras cannot do anything to you.😊😊
Only criminals or people who want to do bad things are afraid of cameras in public places.

Thank you!

Dude, you're talking about 10 years ago
It's called IoT - the Internet of Things that uses big data to connect the whole infrastructure in a city to mobile devices. I've been living in China for 11 years and China's tech and engineering is way ahead of the rest of the world.
In fact, the navigation software does not obtain traffic light data, but calculates it through algorithms.

Usually for that duck restaurant, people can queue online and get a number for a table 2 hours in advnace, so you don';t really have to go there and wait... everything is done on line, very few people really go there and wait for 2 hours, usually they arriave 30 min in advance and just wait for 20-30 mins
What’s the name of the restaurant? Can book it using WeChat?
tech is no. 1 in China, ALMOST everything can be done online and you get up to the minute status on your reservation.
as being born and lived in beijing for most of my life for more than 40 years. I'd say, most of the beijing style restaurent is ok. e.g. xiao diao li tang(小吊梨汤), or na jia xiao guan(那家小馆). there is no need really to go to the very busy ones.
就算是这样,餐厅也应该在订餐的时候说明这一点,就算在中国的新顾客都很难知道要排这么长的队,何况外国人
@@popopo1976 I dont know the resetaurant in the vedio, but you can choose the restaurant called “四季民福” which is also good.
Now China has changed even more. I hope you will come to China again.❤
I am a Chinese and Beijing is a very nice city. I suggest that you can visit some other places in China next time. China is a very wonderful country. You can travel to any province in China and every province will leave you with endless aftertastes.❤
Hi are you based in Beijing?
Chopstick is for eating rice in a bowl. If rice is served on a plate, then the spoon is used to scoop up the rice.
AS a CHinese, i agree with you
The hot water is probably for you to wash yr cutleries before you eat, and not for you to drink. Many Chinese restaurants do that. That is why it is boiling hot,
@@MrSpchew79actually it is for customer to drink. what you saw is that some people choose to do to make it cleaner first. do it or not all by choice and understandable. and chinese think hot/warm water/food is good for health instead of iced one.
What a video! I appreciate you covering the small but still relevant details for travellers like needing to show your ID on the metro and the police everywhere.
Also cool to see that red light countdown on the Chinese Uber, never seen that before either. Looking forward to the rest of your Chinese adventures!
Aww thank you so much, trying to show a full experience and the things we found interesting as it varies in lots of ways to home. Glad it was helpful!
They just confused the metro card with the ID card. We don't need to carry the ID card in Beijing most of the time.
Congrats on being adventurous and going for it. We first went 40 years ago so quite a shock seeing it so clean and uncrowded. Even took our eldest when he was one year old, and getting followed by large crowds just see him. Off to BJ next week for a weeks treat.
Just a quick tip. The chunky meat sauce were supposed to be mixed together with the noodles. Next time, just dump it all in.

Welcome to China again. I remember when you came to Shanghai last time, you said you would come to China again. I didn't expect you to come so soon.

A wonderful trip my friend and a beautiful video.

16:03 I think you go to some famous restaurant for roast duck like Quanjude, because it's so famous and it's always long queued.
I use WeChat to make reservations when I was in Shanghai. When we reached the restaurant, we only waited for 30mins.
Enjoy your trip to China!! So exciting 💞💕
Thank you!! 😊
Thank you.
Thank you for introducing a real China to all over the world. Welcome all country people to come to China❤
And there are really soooooo many great restaurants, like for peking duck, so you don't have to wait that long just for a dishes.( But of course if you just wanna try this restaurant, that seems OK, up to you)
Have a great time there!
广东的吃的对我来说实在是太清淡了😂
When going to a restaurant, you can make a reservation on the app in advance so you don’t have to wait too long.😄
Sure, if you can read chinese.
Restaurants that are popular usually don’t take reservations, especially the ones that serve Peking Duck. The best time to go is around 10.30 when they opens up or 3.30pm in the afternoon
Absolutely loved this video! Your adventure through the local markets and historical sites was fascinating. Keep these amazing vlogs coming!🥰🥰
Don't get offended with people staring at you, they are just curious as I mentioned above, nothing malicious, you can tell by the expression on their face with smiles.
