I love how Jordan never says "yes" or "that's right" when Conan talks, but replies with his own words.

@Mr. King It can be considered humble if it comes from someone humble (who would usually have a follow-up to re-assure others they are just a fan like everyone else), but in this case, it comes from a know-it-all with outlandish and pompous opinions, which we all love him for. His answers are usually short, and seem to only come out to contradict previous statements in passive aggressive manners instead of agreeable confirmations.
"...To the point you used office money to purchase an espresso machine and place it near your office?"
"It was a reasonable purchase."
He's already trying to argue and be right, lol.
He follow ups with arguments instead of just saying "yes, I bought an espresso machine" like someone might do instead of trying and find weaknesses with the argument. 5 questions later Conan is still trying to get a "yes/no" reponse.

And here Jordan could have said, "I know some Italian, but am unfamiliar with that word."
Obviously in context, they all know it's a political party, so that is unnecessary information unless thrown back as a jab mixed in with these nothing answers to try and make himself seem knowledgeable and Conan seem incomprehensive.
Of course, this is likely a bigger act than we think (such as when Jordan sneaks his jaw slightly open the 2nd time Conan tries to stuff it with whipped cream). 5:50
Jordan does his role well, like when he interviews George Lucas with a obscure question fired off in a hostile fashion (who cares if Lucas doesn't remember every pixel and detail in his movies, he is only human):

He did not. He basicily gives 2 numbers disregarding the coffe. You do different brew ratios depending on the roast and etc. You cant have a general exact amount coffe to water ratio. Esspecialy you also have to watch out for how long you extract. For example he likes darker coffee roast where you try to have a colder brew temperature and less water because it is really easy to extract everything from darker coffe.

I've listened to Eden talk in 7:25 every year in the past 7 years. Every time, I get older and wiser, and every time I understand a little bit more of what she just said. I think I'm growing up.
It seemed to me like she was making an argument for the coffee should not be overly concentrated which was actually the point that Jordan was making.

Absolutely he does. Mike Birbiglia has said that he actually worked for Jordan at one point. Jordan knows exactly what he's doing and why it's so successful.
Conan knows the value of a straight-man routine. It's really funny to see the second Jordan crakcs up / breaks character Conan immediately puts himself into the straight man position and the roles are flipped.

I'm really bummed that I started watching Conan again only when I heard he was leaving his TBS show. He was my favorite in my teens, but after the whole NBC nonsense I kind of stopped watching because of college and I didn't have TBS. I started binge watching these clips on RUclips and it is possibly some of his best material. Some of the segments had me genuinely rolling which is a rarity for me. I am looking forward to checking out your travel show on TBS and new show on HBO!
I believe Conan is going to start an online show instead and given how close he is with his staff he may have them there as well so maybe it wont be too different

A lot of his humor over the stretch of his talkshow has revolved around self-deprecation (poking comedic fun at himself - does this a lot interviewing guests), and so to see him act foolishly aligns with that long-standing theme, in addition to his delightful buffoonery contrasting well to his overall intelligence and professional credentials. Someone with far less mental & psychological depth would never get away with it as well as Conan.

Jordan stated his opinion on the difference in taste. Shortly after he criticized their process. She then basically said how it needs to be that process in order to get the results of their flavor.

I really enjoy the contrast of Conan the funnyman and Jordan a calm, cool intellectual with a sensitive side. We have a lot of autism in our family, and I've only seen autistic people remember so well. I find Jordan interesting and Conan very funny . Love ya guys!

From the external of what we've seen of him, he's *probably* on the spectrum. And his knowledge of coffee here screams special interests from autistic people. But he's certainly high functioning though.

As comedy, the pairing is really very clever. Jordan is in some ways the traditional straight man to Conan's shtick. BUT. He's so over-the-top about it that it loops around and he's the one with the shtick and Conan can be the straight man just by being funny in a normal and relatable way. Each gets to be funny, each gets to support the other's bit, but without shifting character.
I also like that this bit manages to satirize both the annoying coffee snob _and_ the boorish guy with no taste.
Finally, I'm guessing Jordan does news media relations? If so, he's IDEAL. The constant deadpan means Conan's people won't duck interviews during a scandal, but also no colorful clips to make the show look bad and draw attention to it. He never answers a question directly, he just makes statements of his own and never gives ground on what he's saying, so no getting tripped up by reporters.
I can vouch for the authenticity of his behavior, I had a boss that was as completely deadpan about EVERYTHING.
Couldn’t have any kind of conversation with him that had any emotion, he just couldn’t express it.
He laughed a few times just like Jordan has on the show but after he’s done he would go straight back to the expressionless demeanor.
