- You may remember Corlan from his exhaust cutout we did on his Infiniti g37s a couple months ago and now he works here and is going for a world record for NA horsepower and he just may be able to do it. First lets see if the motor can handle the abuse were about to unleash on this car with a how to on a compression test for this vq37.

Hyped for the next video!
yaaa man
Awww yeah brothers keep the vids coming! Did the timing set on my cobalt and dropped an engine mount bolt inside the frame never to be found again ...
oooh nooo did you get a replacement?
Yeah I got a replacement at my local stealership
@@stefanst-onge7378 sound about right, that sucks but gotta have it
Thank You!
no problem
I'm working on my 2011 m37 with a cylinder 5 misfire (also has a water leak so praying its not the "incorrect ecu" that this "shady dealer" had in it. But anyway, thanks for this! And big thanks for shouting out to us females that r watching lol that made u gain a follower
glad we could help! always supporting the female enthusiast
Hey man, awesome vid, you made it seem so easy to do a pressure test. My car is a bit hesitant in gear 2 or 3 so I was wondering, what would be the next step if one of the cylinders wasn’t giving strong pressure?
Would that mean a valve cover replacement? Any tips would help as I’m about to replace my valve covers but I don’t want to skip any necessary steps. Thanks again 💪🏼
if you have lost compression in a cylinder you then need to perform a leak down test to find out where the compression is escaping and asses the problem then
What happens when do you find oil on a spark plug??
You have to disable the fuel in order to perform a correct compression test. Otherwise you'll flood the cylinders and you have to perform a clear flood mode.
never had it be an issue when doing a compression test with it flooding
Just did a q45 it had over 285 psi on all cyl.
wow what compression
replacing my engine with something that has less miles, trynna see if i should replace the gaskets while the engines off. maybe i’ll save some money? is it worth it? i already have the engine off so...
i would just do it now so there is no issues later down the road. otherwise if they go bad its way more difficult doing it in the car.
No need to disconnect fuel pump fuse?
Sorry if you did and I somehow missed it lol
yea theres no need. we just pulled the coil wires so it wouldn't fire cause your gonna pull them all anyway to test all the cylinders. and most cars have a fuel injector cut when it sees the coils not functioning.
The car won’t automatically turn on with the coils off? Or is there a technique to just crank it
with the coils off there is no spark to the cylinder which is why it wont start
You're suppose to be at 130-185 on a warm engine for the VQ37.
Inifiniti's Manuals say otherwise
i changed my injectors, spark plugs , and 1 coil on cylinder 6th but it still marks a misfire in 6th , also the code p0300 , what could it be ? Car runs fine , just a little bad on D but it’s because of my mass airflow sensors , apart from what could cause the code
how was the compression in that cylinder?
Ngldany I have the same problem. Did you found out what was it? 😅

Hey, don't you have to remove the fuel pump feus out or not??
u need to
Do it the correct way; Pull the fuel pump fuse to be CERTAIN you won't F it up.
you can do it that way too
Did you pull all the spark plugs during the test or only one can be out at a time?
you can do it either way, just make sure you unplug all the coils when you do it.
Just watched this vid. My G37s 10’ is throwing a p0301 code and I pulled the coil packs and the spark plugs and there’s oil 😅
ooh noo hah but not a bad fix
What if it's a junkyard engine? Is there a way to crank it manually?
you wont be able to spin it fast enough even with a impact. if the engine is out i would just do the gasket and chain anyway
It’s hard to be a record breaker when you add like 250 lbs to a car
how many miles on the car?
about 115k
