    Hi, we're Jesper & Vanessa! We have had a passion for traveling since we met in 2013. Since then we have been working towards the goal of being able to travel full-time. We left our corporate jobs in the end of 2018, packed one carry-on bag each and left the comfort of our home in Sweden to go out and explore the unknown. We are now traveling full-time since June 2019 and are happy to take you with us on our journey exploring the world!

  • @stewlawph
    @stewlawph 4 года назад +2

    The roti is roti canai or prata, like puff pastry, oiled flour sheet folded over then dry fried. You eat like westerners - one dish at a time. Here we would take a few things together with the bread(roti) or rice. Then any spiciness/saltiness is moderated. No dish is meant to be eaten alone but always combined with rice or bread. Lentils (dhal), peas, pulses provide protein. Indian dessert sweets can be very sweet & flavourful. Would have loved to guide you but discovery is ur vlog way.

      I'm Malaysian of Chinese ethnicity, born & bred here but can't live without spice/heat. Dunno if you should research more before you go out? Suffering for you as you stumble along, unsure of what you see, eat, touch, etc. If you see others ' vlogs, you could learn a lot before stumbling along with foods.

    It's not true that South Indian food is more spicy than North Indian if you are actually using the correct definition of the term "spicy". North Indian food contains a lot more spice - hence spicy but South Indian food is hotter - lot more chilli but not more spice or spicy.

    Not garlic soup but Rasam , very nice if mixed with rice . Not chips but papadom ,crush put in yr rice it is nice , the bread is roti canal ,u can dip that in the curry , it is very nice .
    Indian food don't dip rice in curry , pour a bit on yr rice , it be nicer and heat more tolerable. Veg too mix into yr rice not just eat on its own. That is the way to eat it in malaysia or India or indian way .

    Your info about the Malaysian population is a little misleading. The local residents of the country are called Malaysians regardless of their race, Chinese, Malay etc. All of the Chinese, malays and Indians consider themselves as Malaysians. The race composition of the country however is correct. Hope this helps 😊

      But I don't think that we found authentic Malay food that was suitable for vegans/vegetarian (since we don't eat meat)

      @@JesperandVanessa In Malaysia, it's quite difficult to find Malay's vegetarian foods it just that you have to make sure to tell them that you are vegetarian and you want it only veggies upon ordering and most of the are quite spicy (and then again, you have to say no spicy upon ordering food). For Chinese and Indians, due to some religious reason like Buddhism and Hinduism, some of them are vegans. Therefore, it's more easier to find vegetarian food in Chinese cuisine and Indian cuisine. But I can tell you that, you can find the best vegan food in Chinese cuisine because they have the most varieties taste. You will quite surprise that some of it even look like and taste like meat but actually it is made of soy beans, grains and mushroom...
