Nice work! I have a 73 with the AMC 258 also. I'd like to get it to this level eventually. How 'did you power your HEI? just tap into a wire from the ignition switch, or did you use a relay?

I know this is an older video, I would like to know what cam you put in? Also did you do anything to the lower end of the motor? Did you change anything as far as gearing in the differentials?

Sorry.....don't get on here much. Yeah, it was open headers ....have since run through Flowmasters. Sounds like a V8 with the split headers.

Hey this is the same build I am planning on my 73 AMC Hornet with another anemic 258. What cam did you use? I am rebuilding my craigslist weber 38 right now. Searching for a junkyard 4.0 head. Sounded great!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you...I haven't looked at youtube in a while. All parts were purchased from Clifford Research. They're a pretty easy google....good luck !
