Half-way through the Conjuring you get hit with one of the best riffs in metal!
Word. I remember i got obsessed w megadeth cause this came on autoplay, that halway riff to be specific, i had to stand up, walk to my PC to see what the hell it was and ive been listening ever since
Full reaction to Rust in Peace is in order. Arguably one of the best metal albums of all time.
My first Megadeth album and one of my favorites.
My first was KIMBABIG, but it was '92 and I was 11. First song I heard, was this on Headbangers Ball. I had mixed cassettes with Megadeth from different albums, but that was the first actual album I bought by them.
A lot of people like 'Rust in Peace' and it is technically a great album, but I lean towards 'Peace Sells...' It is a little more polished than 'Killing is My Business...' but still has that raw Megadeth sound I love. If the first album had this quality of recording, more people would appreciate 'Killing is My Business...' than do. As for the remastered versions, I prefer the originals. Hurm1t, you should listen to a few songs off the first album, 'Last Rites/ Loved to Death', 'Rattlehead', or 'Looking Down the Cross' at some time. As for the 3rd album, 'So Far, So Good, So What...', 'Light the World Afire', 'In My Darkest Hour', Liar', and 'Hook in Mouth' four songs you need to hear off that album. Going back to 'Rust in Peace', 'Hangar 18', 'Take No Prisoners' and '5 Magics' are song you'd enjoy. That said, there are no bad songs on 'RiP', so....
This is good, but my personal favourite Megadeth album is Rust in Piece, got to do this🤘🤘🤘
The 3 albums that defined the thrash metal genre in the year 1986 were - 1) 'Master of Puppets' by Metallica, 2) 'Reign in blood' by Slayer, and 3) "Peace sells, but who's buyin'?" by Megadeth 🤘🤘🔥🔥 All essential metal albums in history.
The thrash metal boom came after, in 1987 w/ stellar albums by Anthrax ('Among the living'), Testament ('The Legacy'), Exodus ('Pleasures of the flesh'), Death Angel ('The Ultra violence'), Voivod ('Killing technology'), Kreator ('Terrible certainty'), Sodom ('Persecution mania'), Destruction ('Release from agony'), Death ('Scream bloody gore'), Suicidal Tendencies ('Join the Army'), D.R.I. ('Crossover'), Sacred Reich ('Ignorance'), Overkill ('Taking over'), Celtic Frost ('Into the Pandemonium')... etc.
Can honestly say I didn't realise how good this album was until I saw you react to it. Great reaction.
For me it’s a top 5 Heavy Metal album ever.

"Far more technical", lol. Megadeth mostly feels like a cheap Metallica knockoff.
Ride the Lightning and Master of Pups are pretty incredible. I was more a Metallica fan early on when Cliff was alive.
But in the long run Megadeth sold me more albums. I’ll take Megadeth’s portfolio over Metallica’s!

It’s the awesome hooks, riffs, twists and turns that’s missing from modern Megadeth especially their new album. I mean the new album is full on thrash, well produced but doesn’t have the character and impact compared to these early Megadeth days.
The music isn't terrible but Dave's voice... I just can't.

@@DM-rc4yu your opinion is what you think and i 100% respect it👌 Personally i love Dave's vocals as hell, probably my favorite of The Big 4 bands, because of how he's unperfect, grouchy like an angry grandma or cartoon villain, totally unmelodic and kinda punkish. This is how Apocalypse soundtrack should sound like💥💥
