I don't know how I ended up watching a reaction channel but this was fun. I liked how you almost immediately said "this is a party" as that's literally the only context I ever hear this song in. I've heard this song played in metal bars in Helsinki and literally EVERYONE always sings along. It's magical.
This album, self-titled, and Victory Songs are masterpieces. Definitely the pinnacle of this genre in my opinion.
True, I just prefer Jari vocals. Although I gotta say their latest album is becoming one of my favorites after the first two of course.
These guys got me into Folk and Viking metal. It's just really great stuff. I've seen Ensiferum 3 or 4 times over the years and let me tell you, when this song is played live people absolutely lose their shit and it's a blast!

Token of Time is wonderful, and very folky. I'd also throw in Treacherous Gods and Eternal Wait from the first album - not necessarily my top tracks, but I think the most interesting to explore.
How about Sword Chant? every time I hear that song it gets stuck in my head for weeks. To be fair, their first two albums don't have a bad song on them. Jari is amazing

I was like 9 years old when i head this song, brings back good memories.
This is my favorite band and my favorite album, and it's always a blast to see new listeners introduced to their awesomeness. "Into Battle," "Iron," and the underrated "Sword Chant" are also great picks from the album. Also, if you do end up doing a bit of Ensiferum exploration, save "Bonus Song" (yes, that's the title) for the end - it's something else.
This album is actually produced by fleming rasmussen, same dude who produces AJFA, master of puppets, ride the lightning, basically every early metallica album. It makes sense for you to hear the similarity :D
i love the fact you listened to the jari-era ensiferum.
i am so very obsessed of this song called Enigma by Edge of Sanity, the band does not really exist anymore but that particular song never gets old.
i am still fascinated about the lyrics even after ~20 years of hearing it for the first time, though the song is from the 1992 but i am not that old so i heard it "a little" after the release.

Love Ensiferum and lailaihey. One of my favorite metal bands. They always get you into a good mode with their folky upbeat metal. First album is my favorite, then probably the last album. Nordic brothers.

This and a band called Eluvietie are the best of this genre. This isn't the song I would have recommended as an introduction to these guys. They have stuff that is way more thrashy. Token of Time and Goblin Dance are some choice nugs.
