Would nominate Miles Davis's cold stone stares, and the first time I went to a Pat Metheny Concert in Japan, and they came out playing 'Forward March'. The whole audience had the biggest WTF? look on their faces, and when Pat launched into 'Yolanda You Learn', all was again well with the world. Frank Zappa should be somewhere in that bucket list.
This is the jazz equivalent to shreds and I'm here for it.
