Nathan East on bass! I swear there's no gig that man can't do! Everything from Toto to Chick, from Clapton to Herbie Hancock.
Also with Joe Satriani.
Bet he was replacing Patitucci on an emergency. And the man still delivered. My bass hero!
Roy Vogt.. Soooo true.. Man is an absolute legend.. I believe he had a week to prepare for the concert.. 😁 What a music genius.. Respect respect respect...
He did an amazing job. You can see him sweating a couple of times- but it's a testament to his talent that he can pull this gig off!
San Diego local guy
Agreed
Me: Everyone has their damn phone out. can't you just enjoy the show?
Also me: Thanks for recording this!

No Mark, it's just you. Everyone else got the joke, which, I might add, was quite obvious.
Troll elsewhere, please.
Goddamn this hits hard. Feels like I’m talking with him in that call in response part. Rest In Peace Chick Corea
That look in Nathan’s eyes...no matter how hard a bass part is, somehow he’s going to nail it. This is brilliant.
I met Dave Weckl a few times and met him personally, the first time was with the Buddy Rich Big Band in 2016. I was 11. I played a tune with the Big Band. I'll Never forget that. Dave Weckl let me have a go of his drumkit.
I've seen this done a hundred times, and every time, I watch it just to see Gambale steal the show with his amazing solo. Wow so much talent on that stage.
I've never seen Nathan East play like this !
same proves just how incredible of player he is!
@@ashidbt9164 what? did you see him screw the whole thing?
@@vvutangmc i mean the dude was called on short notice. I bet he didn't have much time to prepare for it. And he doesnt usually play fusion anyway.
I was SO confused!!
2:36 to start and skip intro.

Eric marinthal, a killer sax. Underaited
Would probably be rated (neither under nor over) if he hadn't dedicated himself to smoooooooth
RIP Chick. Will miss your playing and how your groups and songs were a platform for so many great players to make great music. It's hard to complain when you had a long career and put so much out there - but I'm feeling greedy and it would be nice to keep getting more. But thanks for always keeping the 'play' in your playing. It has been and will continue to be an inspiration...
Virtuosity at its finest. Excellent! You can hear the tag on Coltrane's Love Supreme early on in the song. Totally Elektric! Thank you for posting.
My music teacher wrote this song. Mike Bogle, the Legend!
Gotta love that gorgeous smile of Nathan East, and what an outstanding player...
Heavy Monsters on this stage, one of the few that still live today. A blessing to watch this, and please, build 100 statues for Gambale! He nails it every time😍
My brain just blew up! Thanks a lot Frank!!!!
Wow What a Band!! Frank is the Man no question about it He always takes it to another level!!! And Nathan did an amazingly Fantastic job keeping it Funky and exposing layers that even Chick did not know was there! Incredible
I doubt that
OMG. what a piece of heaven on earth!
Dios te Guarde Master Chic por mostrarnos el camino y fuente de inspiracion a seguir estudiando y explorando ! Descanse en Paz Chic Corea
I'm sure it was a hard gig for nathan , but he delivered and what a good vibe this guy has.
This was 🔥🔥
Es la sincronización que dan tantos años de virtuosismo trabajando juntos!
You can see nathan east is trying really hard here. What makes you understand what a killers this band is
That is true!. To play this, You need more practice.
Yeah, he was a little nervous... A testament to Chick's capacity to evoke tremendous respect from monsters like Mr. East. All fantastic musicians here!
@@RorroBass im sure he's done the practice, but sometimes your not faxing human, but legends
Nathan wouldn’t even be up there if Chick had a shred of a doubt that he could pull it off.
POR DIOSS!! IMPRESIONENTE LA VERDAD. QUE PLACER DEBE HABER SIDO ESTAR AHI....AWESOME!!!
I liked when Nate dug down deep and pulled out flying fingers. Holy shit. One of the best.

This is one of Weckl's best "Got a Match" solos, if not the best.
FRANK IS BEAST !!!
Smo-king! RIP Chick....
the bass solo was amazing
damn damn damn
Killer!
Nathan East used to play with Phil Collins too right? Wow. That was awesome bass playing.
Got A Match...?
WT!
That thing has spontaneously combusted !!
Mr. East can really play.
Skilled
Wonder where Patitucci was on this one? Either way this base playing is covering all the basis quite nicely. Miss you Chick!! 🎶🎵
Mr. Nathan wow
I like the “A Love Supreme” call and response starting at 1:10.
And again quoting it at 3:20
So many critics of East's performance on this. No one on that stage would have been there if Chick didn't think they were going to do a good enough job to make him and the audience happy. Why do we spend more time trying to figure out what's wrong with stuff than what's right with stuff? I understand that as I've spent too much of my 67 years being that way, especially when my kids were young.

Crawford High School's own Nathan East, his brother is the Priest from the East, Father Ray East!!
Por qiue não há video oficial completo desse show ?
Got a match, I wanna burn my Bass. Nathan you iz the wiz. Hope you are doing a bit of a tour with the guys.
I got say that: It is insane how "easy" is for nathan east to play bass in this song!
Nate The Great 🎸
RIP Chick
Holy shit!!!!!!! Monsters aliens, they are they’re own race lol unreal!!!
I'm shocked Nathan East is in the band.....I love the Elektric Band
Nathan East is not quite John Patitucci, but he fits the bill pretty well still.
Nunna Yuh bitness I agree. This was the encore, but during the whole of the concert he turned out to be more than capable!
He's more groovy that's for sure
Wow, Patitucci is tan! :D
Ted Danson's drums skills have really improved.
Nathan (B)East
Where was Nathan at min 4:36 with Chick calling back to song head?
Never knew Nathan East played with Chick.
And for a great Chick Corea Sub? Hiromi Uehara or Valariy Stepanov
Belle brochette de vieux branleurs😁😁🎚🎚✨✨🌅🌅🤣🤣🤔🤔

It's very hard to fill in John Pat's shoes and Nathan found out. I have to give him credit, this is a very tough gig. Nat would need another month with the band to stay with them.
It’s not just about musicality, it’s also personality. Nathan is a great guy and can adapt to any setup. This is definitely not a gig that you can just slip into. Virtuos, all of them.
Agreed, seems like Nathan took the gig on a short notice. Of course the man is on their same level but maybe needed a bit more prep time!
So true. This is probably the toughest gig out there
Nathan East in survival mode. :)
Great....
But.. where is he : Mr. John Patitucci the Bassist First TCCE Band
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
12:38
Seeing this is crushing,
regarding the fact he's
dead now. Smh.
Man I really love that Mike Ermanthraut left the meth business and is playing real fussion jazz now.
I'm offering a million dollars to anyone who has a photo or video of Nathan East not smiling.
The Best good Chick Corea talented .new trendy jazz on the world his electronic jazz improvistion very natural and spontanic ....peace 🌞🙂😇🌈🎵🎹👍🤍❤️

He meant 3:48 lol

Not many times do you see a guy like Nathan East get his ass handed to him. He barely survived through this!
He did very well. Hats off to Nathan, well done. Great player to stand in to that tune. Nobody covers Got a Match, no band, no where.
Natahan East cant keep up LOL
Ok. I have mad respect for Nathan East..but he can't hang with these guys. Sorry
Nathan couldn´t hold it up, he does not fit with the band in certain way.
Patitucci played with chick for about 30 years man...
@@cmvb True, dont judge before we knew the story behind, for the sake , Nate has tried with the best, i think the job's call for Nate is happen for sudden,no much time for practicing with totally vibes.
