- Ever since the early days of Apple there’s been a lot of negativity surrounding the company. And many of the criticisms from the 80’s are still repeated today. For example, the original 128k Macintosh was ridiculed for its lack of internal and external expansion options. And Apple was criticized for not licensing the Macintosh operating system to other hardware manufacturers. Both of which are things people still think are problems with today’s Macs. So hatred toward Apple has only gotten worse as they’ve grown in popularity. And nowhere is this more apparent than on the internet. Even users on pro-Apple websites like MacRumors hate on the company at almost every turn. But why is this the case? Well, let’s find out by going over some of the reasons why people hate Apple so much to begin with.

Though I do have to argue on the chrome book part and how to you, they suck. Chrome books are made for people who don’t care about specs and all that. This device is made for people who wants a stable yet affordable computer to do simple tasks like web browsing. So I wouldn’t say they suck but I can see why you may hate them if you are a tech enthusiast.
Chromebooks do what they do well, just don’t get why you’d need expensive Chromebook.

As an Android user, I definitely agree with this video. You get an Android phone for a different reason than you get an iPhone. Apple products are designed for ease of use and simplicity, while as Android phones are geared more towards tech enthusiasts and people who want customization.
Finally I found an android user that is not a fanboy thank you for being logical.
The thing is that Apple lost the ground on ease of use since iOS 7 when Jony Ive began to reinvent basic controls with every other new iteration of iOS. Meanwhile the Android pull down menu and home touch buttons have remained unchanged.

Everytime iOS is updated I have to retrain my parents and they take out their frustrations over the design on me.

they actually did license their software but they found a loopwhole and got it back if they kept licensing it no one would pay for the extra pemium and their os would be the same as windows so it wouldnt be optimised and would lead to a worse user experince

I grew up using Apple products. My dad told me that when I was old enough to sit up and move my arms on my own, he sat me in front of his Apple computer that he had programmed to change colors, or pop up pictures, anytime I hit the keyboard. I've literally been using Apple computers since before I could speak.
When I was a kid, and young teen, I would receive so much hate online from people simply because I used a Mac, that it made me spiteful to Windows, and eventually Android when smartphones started to become a thing. I broke that attitude in my early twenties, and I've received a lot less hate, though I still experience it from time to time.

I think you missed one the reasons...Most of the people on the internet have not used a single Apple product or have no intention of buying one. So the only thing they do is look at the specs and price and literally spread hatred without even actually using the device.

I have zero brand loyalty and reevaluate smartphones every year come upgrade time. 7 plus was an amazing phone but then I got the galaxy s8. Then considering what was available I got the s9, now I ve got a Huawei mate 20 pro having never owned any of their products before. I don't give a fuck about any of those companies only what they bring to the table every year. I can tell you right now that Apple is a luxury brand at this point, not an innovative tech company. You are paying for the name and they are nickle and diming their customers to a level that should not be acceptable. Give me a good reason not to have the fast charger or that headphone dongle in the box.

The problem with the iPhone is it's like buying a Toyota Prius with a 1 gallon tank. Even though iPhones have decent battery life compared to other phones, the point is you want your phone to last as long as it can on a regular size battery. Basically good enough is never as satisfying as having more than enough
You didn't include the biggest point of all. The longevity of the devices. They simple just don't make them to last. Many, MANY of their products are subject to fails by design. Not that they are design to fail (thought that is another argument), but rather the designs of the machine actually ruin the machines themselves over longer use.
yess. apple takes more time to release the features that have been their in the android community for years because they just don't want them to fail or lag or hang. Most of those feature-creep android phones depreciate a lot after having those features loaded. Apple polishes those features first and then launches them.

As a long time Apple fan and Apple user, who've owned multiple iPhones, iPods, Macs, Apple Watches you name it. I have to say that the reaso I've started to switch over from Apple devices to other platforms is 1. Price and 2. Compatibility. I live in Sweden and am a student, and the iPhone XS is about 1400$ here. That's a kind of money not I, or many other people can afford or want to spend money on every once or two years. The iPhone 6 was 800$ when it came out, which is considerably less expensive device than the XS, X or even 8 is. The tax here is more than 50%. People simply can't pay such an insane price for something you need to replace in a year or two. That's actually the primary reason OnePlus has grown so fast and became the third largest mobile manufacturer in Sweden this year. They offer more for less, and it's like that for many manufacturers. Second, the compatibility simply isn't there. The Macs are underperformers compared to computers in terms of compatibility. As a game developer, it is very important for me that my software works well on my machine. Much of the software I use daily is only available for Windows or is a buggy mess on the Mac. It simply doesn't cut it. And then there's the fact that iPhones won't connect to some devices and all that stuff, but honestly it bothers me a lot less than some of the other problems I just brought up. I still like apple, but recently I've been turned away because of these issues and the steady increase in price.
I can relate to your problem. Apple offers reliability, and the stuff that works on it works best even compared to windows, linux, android whatever. But something that works on other stuff simply is a hard nut to crack on apple to work. Example: Web app development which uses low dpi just looks torn on apple mac books but is workable on windows. There are many such examples.

I am a huge Apple fan. I own just about every Apple Product available. This doesn't mean that Android or PC are worse. Some Android designs are beautiful and there are pros to PC just as there are pros to Apple devices. I prefer to use Apple more, but that doesn't mean I hate the others. I own an Android tablet and Windows laptop as well.

I am not impressed and do not think an android phone is harder to use.

I started with Android phones. Also had PC's. They were both problematic. Three teenage boys in the house caused most of my problems with the PC. Apple products have been unbelievably good for me. That's just been my experience.

People always compare apple to one specific android company but that's like comparing apples to all other fruit. Its not a fair comparison but still apple pulls through and wins sometimes.because they manage to take everything and perfect it.

Stefan They both run different operating systems. It’s unfair to compare them as when you get an Apple device you are paying for the hardware, the software and support for about 6 years. This also includes excellent optimisation. With Android devices you just pay for the hardware as Google provides the software to the manufacturer for free in exchange for mining the users data and thus the manufacturer only needs to make minimal changes. That is a cost everyone forgets to consider.
Apple perfects nothing but good marketing and I assume the other company is Samsung? They are Apple lite to me another company that let its ego make them lazy. When they were pushing for success they made good TVs, good tablets and phones and laptops too, but now they are lazy and over priced.
I used to have samsung phones, TV, tablets, not because I was a fangirl but because they were good, first they messed up the phones, then the tablets became over priced for the specs out performed by others, then they fell behind LG in the TVs.
Never buy just because of a brand name because eventually they all realise that they can stick their name on anything and people will buy it, so they do.

i used to hate apple as i focused on specs but not anymore. I have used both windows and mac and the experience is just better. the 'ecosystem' doesn't prevent you from using other systems but if staying in their system give you so much better experience why would you switch. Android fans like us should hate our vendors for not being able to build something as close to that experience as possible. Apple has the upper hand as they have control over desktop os and mobile os while Android phones have to talk to different windows or macs. Also considering the fragmentation of android devices its almost impossible to match with mac in terms of integration. I believe android users deserve more in terms of updates. 90% of manufacturers imply don't provide updates after the product is sold which sucks.
Update like slow down your phones ? All jokes asides that's true they put lot of money in their os and software and it Always as been the thing apple does the best in my opinion.
But Android is totaly on par with ios nowadays. Atleast when getting phones like the nexus/pixel line or oneplus. That's the stock experience that is as controlled by google as apple does with ios.
I think mac + stock android is the best combination, atleast for me. Only if you really want everything synced up between your devices without using 3rd party software you should consider an iphone. But otherwise it really works great, and that's me saying that who gets annoyed by the smallest shit.

The whole Mac vs PC thing is honestly getting annoying. Everyone has a choice to buy what they want, and each type of system has different benefits. As someone who is a visual learner and artist. (Filmmaker/cinematographer, photographer, graphic designer, etc) Apple products, especially Macs give me a pleasant experience while using them. I enjoy the operating system, ease of resolving problems and overall UX design. Also, as someone who works both a full time job and multiple freelance projects, accessing all of my business content on different devices through iCloud is very easy and efficient. Also as someone who desperately needs a good quality screen, reliable hardware and thunderbolt 3 ports for hard drives, Apple products have everything I need. So I see them more as a professional tool for my work. While most PC users often just need to surf the web, I need a computer that will help me work more efficiently, and I like how Apple products do that.
I really love apple product, but couldn't afford the latest one recently. Thank you Apple.

I'm an Android and Windows user and I love iPhones and Macbooks. The only reason why I haven't bought Apple products is that I've been accustomed to Android and Windows since I've been using them from the beginning. Also there are a few advanced features that the other platforms provide that isn't available with Apple. Being a power user these features are important to me. I prefer features and options over ease of use. But I understand why Apple is so popular. Most people are not tech savvy and iPhones and Macbooks "just work" which is important to people, like my dad for example.

Apple Explained spitting out some tough, but honest truth. At the end of the day, we're _all_ entitled to our use case for devices. I chose the S8 for its more openness and freedom to control whatever you want. I like iPhones, but they don't have everything I need/want, so I chose what I chose. But not everyone is like me, someone wants the more simplistic, closed off style, that has its own benefits, and that's good for them. It is absolutely harrowing seeing the lengths Apple haters go through to paint the average iPhone user as not even human.
All that will do is project the idea of the Android space being full of judgmental tech extremists who slam your very existence for even touching an iPhone. Before I get the inevitable "But Android haters exist too! It's not just Apple haters!" To put this into perspective, as AE mentioned, many tech RUclipsrs receive more dislikes and hate when reviewing Apple products compared to non-Apple products. I have been watching a lot of tesla videos recently and its honestly amazing how easy it is to swap tesla for apple and the video still makes sense with a lot of similar trends emerging.

And then, he sued Bill Gates stole the GUI. He openly criticized Dell's "Tasteless beige box". Even when he returned to Apple, lured Bill Gate invested in Apple, he still ran "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ad campaign. He hated Eric Schmidt stole iPhone to Google. He had said Blackberry and other smartphones before iPhone were "ugly" on stage. Other then that, his products vanished many other commercial products again and again (iPod kills MP3 player, iPad kills netbook etc)
I mean, he of course hated competitors for good reasons. And I agree with him. But it'd be unfair to say "Apple is easy to hate" without saying Steve Jobs is the guy created this culture.
My first smartphone was the iPhone 3GS. After that, I got the 4. From then on, I've used Android, and use the Microsoft Surface Book. So hopefully this will clear any biases in the air:
Apple products are simply beautiful, and work wonderfully well. The way that they all work together is an incredible feat, and something that I am jealous of. Do I understand why Google cannot do that? Sure thing (because Android is open sourced, and cannot force all manufacturers to communicate through a proprietary service, like an equivalent iMessage).
Overall, I do not use Apple products anymore. But as a fan of the technology circle, I still observe and can appreciate Apple products

This was me up until a few months ago. But when I reluctantly bought an older Mac for Logic Pro, I immediately realized why people love Apple. But with my perspective as an Apple hater turned Apple fanboy, they do sometimes have some good points.

I’ve used pc all through school, college, and a long while after college... then one day... I got a Mac mini and the rest is history. It wasn’t long before I had an iMac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Why? After using pc all through growing up and after trying the Mac mini, the mini was faster, cleaner, never ever have I got a virus on my macs and they last so much longer. Like waaay longer.
I still think pc has a value and a place, but I have had zero problems with my Apple products, the newest being three years old and my iMac is 7 years old, and no problems at all. No viruses. No slow down. Tell me, can everyday pc computers or laptops perform like that? Usually, the pc computers I purchased lasted a year or two... my iMac is seven and runs and looks like it’s new.
I build websites and Apple just performs better. I do not wag my finger and tell everyone to get Apple or broadcast I’m an Apple user. I use my apple products like people use their pc products... without any “look at me” nonsense.
I just bought the new i5 Mac Mini. Can't wait for it to come in a few days. My surface pro 4 runs noticeably slower than before and Screen flickers. I also need MacOS for xCode. iOS impresses me with its speediness and simple design and I hope MacOS does to.

Give it time to adapt to the way things function but once you do, you’ll ask what took me so long to buy Mac. I went back to pc for a few months... I quickly sold that pc and returned to Mac. It just is better.
I just got my Mac mini today and been using it a few hours. Like it a lot. UI unlike Windows has a Unified look. Im a UI snob. The UI is so smooth. Switching between virtual desktops is a lot better than Windows. I had to make a few tweaks in terminal which speed up animations or disabled some and changed Icon size in Launchpad. All the software is there that I need. My friend hates it because of the Window management is different but I think it works well. Theres Hot Corners like I'm used to from Linux DistrosI have used. I never use floating windows and using Split View is just like in iOS. So fat it is now my favorite Desktop OS. Deepin is a somewhat close second.
ISO MY USA if you like pc use bootcamp on your mac so you can run Windows on it thats very helpful because I HATE WINDOWS BUT i have to use it sometimes otherwise ill be using Macos

A couple of my friends couldn’t understand my Apple love, until I gave them my old devices whenever I decided to upgrade. They’ve fallen in love with the iPhone, AirPods, and iPads and have decided to stay with Apple when they’ve upgraded. A lot of the hate is misguided jealousy.

I used to be an iPhone user myself, I later switched to Android and I'm really enjoying the experience. I'm currently using the Razer Phone and love it! It does all I need it to and much more. I bought it because I love Razer for their quality keyboards/mice and jumped the moment I heard they made a gaming phone. I won't judge you for owning an Apple product. Matter of fact, I own a 2008 Macbook myself. I don't really use it but it's a nice gem just to own. Respect to all systems, Apple, Android and PC! Peace! ✌

Yes! Finaly someone that understans me! I bring up the point and my preferance of customization, but the more toxic fanbase around me doesn't seem to understand that. I don't hate Apple, I've had quite a few different products (I loved my iPod 4 back in the day), but I just don't like iPhones at all. I love the customization on Android, I love my Note 8 because I like to spend a lot of time drawing on it with the S Pen, and man I like the emulators too! I like to play some Wind Waker while I wait for my next class (or during if its boring lmao). It's just the phone that suits my needs, yet every time I say that, I get something like "oh, but it has a shity camera" which is the equivalent of a toxic Android user constantly bring up the lack of a headphone jack on iPhones.

Another thing i dislike is they showing off how great it is they fully recycle alluminium when they sorder component on the same device making it pretty hard to impossible to recycle and they do everything to make you buy another device since it's now impossible to upgrade for most of their device.
Some hope is with the new mac mini maybe at some point Apple will be attractive to me once aigain.
That last example of comparison is what buggs me. Just because an operating system (Android) has many options for customization doesn't mean it's more complex and difficult to understand: it just means that, for someone who understands about that and wants to get more personalised, it can go that route. Other than that, the interface is just as easy and intuitive as iOs. Hence, I don't understand how the same simplicity as iOs but much more options to customize can be a disadvantage... You're not obliged to know everything

Apple's user experience is great but in this growing consumer market they should really focus on more affordable devices for the customers rather than bumping up the cost for their mainstream products.
Personally, I’ve recently become an Apple ‘fanboy’ mostly because I’m happy to support a company that supports me and aligns with my values, specifically privacy. Whether it’s to make themselves look good or not, it’s undeniable that Apple have a track record of putting action to word (when it comes to this issue) which I really appreciate. As for os, I love iOS *because* it’s simple; some of us just don’t care enough about customisation. Having used both Android and iOS, I found that when I had my Android I just never really gravitated to most of the customisations features available. iOS is also more reliable, in the sense that frequent software updates are supported across many older devices. I could go on about why I personally love Apple (for now, at least) but this comment is already wayyyy longer than it should be 💀🍏

Personally, the iPhone is just so simple and convenient, I feel I’m paying for better privacy, better operating system and good performance. I have used other android devices from my friends but there is a lack of security and sometimes poor optimization. I believe why Apple is slow to change is because the change must have a reason behind it as if everything keeps changing every year, innovation could be be halted as new innovations have to be created resulting in poor quality and user experience.
For laptops I am a diehard windows user for laptop as I’m not comfortable using MacOS for laptops.

I worked in WIndows based IT support for many years and getting a Mac at home was the best thing I ever did for myself, getting to come home to a different and fresh system that I actually ENJOYED using, was enjoyable just to navigate around even, was a true blessing.
Now have 2 Mac Minis, Macbook and Mac Pro and wouldn't swap them for the world.

honestly can apple do ANYTHING bad in your eyes?. They got caught slowing down phones when the battery was a little old and we wouldn't have known until they got forced to spill the beans out, removed the headphone jack to make more money by selling dongles or you have to pay 130$+ for the airpods, non replaceable battery, no sd card support, spec wise you pay more for less spec(the iphone x took apple ~350 to make and they are selling it for 1k).

Personally ,best way to judge whether something is good should be based of how good of a product it is rather than which company has a bigger fan following or good brand recognition.

To be honest, both Android and iOS are unique. They have pros and cons.
In general, if you are a person who works or loves technology (especially smartphones) and wants a huge variety of customization, get an Android phone (better off on Galaxy S models, because I think the other phones that use this software are easy to hack).
Now, if you don’t really know how to use a smartphone and want something efficient, direct and simple, get an iPhone (good option for people over 60).

Honestly, I think the choice between Apple vs Competition is quite straightforward. If you want something that just works, get Apple. If you want to modify anything and/or go beyond what the basic framework lays out, then go for something else.
That's why for a mobile experience, Apple just makes the most sense to me, because I couldn't imagine dealing with all the bugs and inconsistencies Android has when I just need to do/check something on-the-go. At home? There is more time, and your ambitions in the creative space kind of require lots of leeway, so it's a Windows PC for sure. Again, couldn't imagine having to deal with Apple constraints on a home machine.
It's all a matter of what you need in the context.
I use windows for work because MacOS doesn't support many programs i use every day.
I use an iPhone because it's simple and gets things done quickly on the go.
Apple products are getting much better in terms of raw power. Their recent flagship phones beat most comparable android phones in benchmarks. The iPad Pro’s perform even better. I am an Apple fan but only because they make the best devices for the money in my opinion. Show me another company where I can buy a flagship smartphone and still have it run very well for at least 3 years and get the latest updates for about 7. I have tried android and windows phones before but they always disappoint me. Android phones tend to get very hot, run slowly and have poor battery life and poor support (in terms of updates). I loved windows phones but the app support is just too bad for me to prefer the OS. And tablets are also getting hard to find as Apple seems to be one of the only makers where the device does not feel like an afterthought. I still have a Windows Laptop instead of a Mac due to poor app support but I rarely use it as Windows is horrible these days (constantly installing updates, bugs etc).

Samsung galaxy S5 (2014) I had from December 2017-now... HORRIBLE and was the exact same years old as the iPad

TITICACA but it's the truth. My S7 edge turned out to be dog shit in it's second year of owning it. I couldn't open anything without it have huge load times. I factory reset it at least 4 times and constantly was closing process because ram usage was though the roof while my 5s that i started using as a replacement could keep more apps open which was really sad.
I love their designs and softwares but most importantly is the durability of their products. I’ve been using Macbook pro 13 inch since late 2011 and it still works just fine, never failed to serve me all this 7 years. I used every app you can name and even installed windows as secondary OS for college stuff. battery still give 3 hours when using apps. I recently changed the hard drive with SSD and it’s amazing with their new Mac os.I also use ipad air 2013 same with the macbook works perfectly. I think it was worth to buy their devices. never feels old even when using it aside of powerful desktops and high resolution displays.
People complain that Apple products are too expensive for what we’re getting. But has anyone thought about supreme T-shirt’s that just has the brand’s logo on it and costs 10x more than a plain white T-shirt
