Mark is about the only guy who can point at something on the harness and name it and know exactly where it goes. Other guys don't really do that. They always leave "bread crumbs" to put it back together. This channel kicks ass, and yes I also agree with the badass music. Wabababababaaaaa!!! should make t shirts with that.
Nice job keep it simple and solid. I just picked up a car where the dude wire tucked by shoving the fuse box through the firewall and let it sit under the carpet with no cover. Battery was sitting in the trunk and used 4 gauge audio cable to the starter. I'll definitely make a video on how not to tuck!
You can also use a 96-98 civic ex manual wiring harness on any 96-98 civic if you want to create less of a wiring headache, it has a 2 pin iac from factory along with the O2 sensor wires located in the back and a knock sensor wire if you wish to run that and both vtec pressure sensor and vtec solenoid wires, and yes it plugs in on the interior harness without any modifications and works perfectly fine
This video cleared up so much confusion I've held onto for months I've been trying to understand the whole harness system properly but nowhere online seems to have proper diagrams.
Connected my harness to my b18 engine. I used my stock d16y8 auto harness on the manual B18 motor and now my fuel pump is getting power. Not sure what would cause that, checked all my fuses and they’re good. Double checked all the grounds and I think they’re in the right place (just touching bare metal on the chassis) and for some reason the pump isn’t priming. I used this pump in another car and it works fine
couple of questions so it was basically a matter of taking off the bulky stock loom but was any reused or was every thing electrical taped also i see that this is part one is part two going to show the process of extending thank you and enjoyed the video
I bought a 2000 civic hatch with a d16z6 swapped into it,p28 ecu and automatic to manual transmission conversion. The wiring harness is hacked to pieces and the car isn't running. I'm gonna start the wiring fresh with a new wiring harness. What harness would you recommend I get
Hey I gotta question would like to talk to you about a couple things I am putting a b20b with ls hydro tranny into a 93 honda civic e.g. coupe RYwire set me up with every jumper I would need but I don't like seeing wires when I pop the hood can you tell me what episode to watch ?
I'm running into a issue when installing power steering into a non power steering civic. There is no power steering pressure switch. is it necessary to install the connector to the engine harness?
What do i have to change, build or modified to put a OBD0 B16A with a cable tranny in my 1996 Honda Integra with OBD2A wiring harness (What do i have to do so the obd0 engine fit in a obd2a chassis?) Any replied will very appreciated
thoughts on running an automatic (stock, intended for manual conversion) harness and jumping the shift solenoid wires or just running an oem manual harness?
- hsg I have a 00 civic ex . Got a swap d15b block n y8 head for vtec .. I only have one o2 plug the down stream but im missing the up stream plug how do I add the up stream plug... directly to the ecu?
you got any tips on hiding the ecu and not having it on the ground? I have a swapped 99 civic running a obd1 p72 ecu and its huge compared to the d16 ecu
a mechanic is charging 475 for a harness install, & labor. I don’t really know about cars, but mind you my car only cost me 600 dollars do i need this?
@hondastreetgarage I have a question j have a 93 eh hatch with a b20b what harness should I use ?im Goin with a b16 head my harness is a single cam non vtec it needs a lil work but any recommendations ?
+Honda Street Garage of topic but what your thoughts on the hole business about cold air intake not doing anything for a car, I have watched and read about people dinoing stock air boxes and then cold air intakes and getting no different results they try and try and get nothing just wanted to hear your thoughts on the subject.
Personally, I prefer the stock air box for a number of reasons. The only reason I now use a "whale penis" intake is because the factory air pipe wont fit over the new skunk2 throttle body. I say header and exhaust are more important than the intake. The factory air box just looks better in my opinion.
manuel barajas just use the si harness but its better if u use your stock harness and just extend and add plugs as needed u also got to get after market subfram mounts n u can use any d and b series motor mounts its pretty easy
Hey Mark, I need your help. I noticed that you only have one plug on the driver side, on my 98 ek( gsr swapped) I have two. I can't find an obd2 vtec harness with two plugs. Do you know what the second plug is for and is it necessary to have? Thanks
You can tell it didn't shut off after the first time u let it prime. I'm thinking that's why you turned the key back and let it prime again but it stayed on even after the engine was started.
WhenImGoneCa nope its on @12:45 and then he turns the Camera away and that's the last time you see it and its still on trust me you must be looking at wrong light
love all The videos u Have .96 DX Hatch w b18C .Check Engine turns on On Freeway due to Knock Sensor I need to wire it or just get a Chipped ECU .But thanks You have helped Akot with Videos Love them
also CAI flows waaay better in the high rpm range. You can have a good header and exhaust but u need a matching air intake system. also a CAI system isn't a cone filter and metal tubes. No offense but you should do some research if your not sure of the answer to a question instead of misleading people.
I've been searching RUclips forever for a good wire tuck video. Thank you HSG

Awesome video now let's get some brake tucking lol
At 7:23 that long plastics thingy, where did that go? Did you have to mount it somewhere? I'm having trouble putting back my wire harness
So u use the same harness that came with the car for the swapped engine??
Connected my harness to my b18 engine. I used my stock d16y8 auto harness on the manual B18 motor and now my fuel pump is getting power. Great job explaining...I understand! Thank you.

I use a D16Y8 harness on my Ek dx, no need to run Vtec. It plugs and play, no cutting or extending wires.
FFWD Paogee well the d16y8 has vtec. But I'm pretty sure the harness he has doesn't have vtec so the plugs and wires aren't there.
Good video man. How does one acquire a hsg shirt?
So if I were to put my h block from my prelude. I should use the civic engine harness. It's a 96 civic hatchback.
Factory harness from the body or the new motor being put in?
If you go obd2a to 0bd1 jump harness to Ecu is it recommended to to the same to dizzy obd1 as well ?
I need to do some of this i have alto of spliced wires like my rev light wires and have to mess with my distro wires since my connector broke off
thoughts on running an automatic (stock, intended for manual conversion) harness and jumping the shift solenoid wires or just running an oem manual harness?
i used a obd2 harness in my eg because i wasnt buying all the converters or re pinning just unplug from the towers then reinstall ha its all working
- hsg I have a 00 civic ex . Got a swap d15b block n y8 head for vtec .. I only have one o2 plug the down stream but im missing the up stream plug how do I add the up stream plug...
directly to the ecu?
What kind of wheels are on that white eg??
so, when converting to obd1 from obd2b with a jumper, do I re-pin to the obd1 plug ends, or the obd2b plug ends when adding vtec, and iacv wires?
nice video
I have a b20z with a gsr head in a 94 civic could I use a gsr harness cuz I have it laying around stock one was hacked up

put it in the stock location?
when purchasing a jumper harness, is there a "preferred brand" or does any generic brand (ebay, phearable, etc" do the job?
Jonathan Doy if u use a know brand its better u see the quality difference in ebay and known brand
Did you swap the odb1 Alternator plug to your obd2 harness? BTW love y'all channel best on RUclips.
Same concept on a sohc?

How much would yall typically charge to do a b16 swap in a 1999 civic lx?
Honda Street Garage thats pretty cheap too bad im in California ...

Jose Ramirez thank you
Do brake tucking !! :)
Is there anyway you can contact me Possibly face time have question about an ek Harness
if the car is obd2 and you hook up a obd1 ecu wouldn't you fail emissions?
Yes
No because it wouldn't fit.
So if i use ry wire. I would have to cut a hole in the fire wall in the middle to run to ecu. And do they fit perfectly
so your engine harness is obd2?????
Cat Tran obd2 with an obd1 jumper harness to an obd1 ecu, Honda’s are really that simple
Okay so I have a question....
Hey Mark, I need your help. I noticed that you only have one plug on the driver side, on my 98 ek( gsr swapped) I have two. I can't find an obd2 vtec harness with two plugs. Do you know what the second plug is for and is it necessary to have? Thanks

I having problems with my car that is in the power to the fuel pump
why was your check engine light on at the end?
the dopest one it wasn't. All Hondas have the check engine light flash on while the fuel pump loads up.
it stayed on after you started the engine thou.
You can tell it didn't shut off after the first time u let it prime. I'm thinking that's why you turned the key back and let it prime again but it stayed on even after the engine was started.
are you sure you are looking at the correct light? it does turn off after both primes........
WhenImGoneCa nope its on @12:45 and then he turns the Camera away and that's the last time you see it and its still on trust me you must be looking at wrong light
This is so much gold it's not even funny lol
love all The videos u Have .96 DX Hatch w b18C .Check Engine turns on On Freeway due to Knock Sensor I need to wire it or just get a Chipped ECU .But thanks You have helped Akot with Videos Love them
If I were to pay someone to do this on a 90 Integra what would be a "fair" ballpark figure, the bays in DA's is a mess.
Road Worthy around 300-500
why do you have to tune ur car?
Saul Tejeda just think about it. .
harness
do you guys hAve a contact number ? or email ?

I didn't see the tucking
No voodoo? What am I supposed to do with all these chickens and rice that I was about to sacrifice to the vtec gods?
I know but it stayed on after u started the engine
Your lying you didn’t take the cover off that’s where all ecu’s go 😂
Alright can someone give me the run down on wire tucking ... basically wire tucking for idiots .
Wiring harness is 1/10 skill 9/10 voodoo
