And I tried making sushi with my dad once. We did it with your lobster video but we didn’t use lobster cuz we didn’t know where to get food lobster for a good price (I live in the Netherlands)
21:30 hahahaha “yes yes very good” and stuffs it in his face love that hiro is such a delicate craftsman with his hands but still chows down food like the best of us
I'll bet. I can just imagine the shipping costs! I'm lucky I live near the ocean and most of the clams and lobsters and oysters are grown or harvested right near my house. salmon and shrimp though come from as far away as Chile and Norway or Asia because our fishing industry overfished the local waters. Atlantic Tuna is another overfished species so that's really expensive as well. I don't buy tuna anymore because it's full of mercury. I do buy mackeral or sardines which tuna eat and they taste just like tuna without 60 years of mercury buildup! My shoprite has live lobsters but they sell cooked ones as well. Unfortunately, they overcook them so the meat is tough and rubbery!
Beautiful! Another lobster fact: We all consider lobster to be an expensive treat, but back in the 1700s/1800s it was a main staple given to slaves for food -- so often (almost every day) , in fact, that they started complaining about it. It's amazing how things change with time.
It was also served in prisons. Inmates usually had a diet of lobsters, shrimps, squids, etc. Pretty much anything that's a bottom feader or recycler of the sea just like Pig
I come across you guys year after year without ever searching for it. And honestly, I don't think I've ever left a video feeling like I've wasted my time. Kudos.
Hiro has improved his english since i've last seen him, makes him open up more and express himself, contra his old kinda silent self. Makes me very happy and the food looks delicious too :D
He's a fucking moron. He knows jack shit about cooking, he does know how to film Hiro and post him on RUclips though. All the while BSing everyone that he's an actual participant in all of this. Lol
I really appreciate that their relationship on camera is very mutual, even though it's chef to camera man. IDK what it's like off camera, but it's really nice to see them have such a mutual respect
Keep up with the great work. I love watching your videos. It makes me just more excited to cook everyday and try out your recipes for my family. It was in October that I try out your recipe on your last lobster roll in my College Culinary class. It was awesome. Thanks very much Chef Hiro. I appreciate everything and it has really inspired me to keep going forward to become a Chef.
Chef Terada thanks for the small trick for getting out slices of avocado, i know it mat not seem like something big. thanks again to both for showing me some of the techniques of the chef, i am specially learning a lot from your knife series regarding sharpening and care of the knife, awesome experience, I really liked your conversations with Bill from knife merchant its just really good
Hey chef, as an asian chef myself I love to eat lobster and hope one day I can taste your food. Unfortunately I am all the way in the UK. I subscribed to both channels woohoo! You are a huge inspiration to me, keep up the great videos. Thumbs up to the camera man Charles!

Thats how dreams mostly work. Everything you see in the video is visual so a dream will let you be there visually but the connection between the visuals and the taste are missing. The other possibility would have been you putting it into your mouth and instantly waking up in shock because your brain tried something that isnt in your brain... If you were at his restaurant once, you could probably dream the same thing but with the whole eating experience. If you would often go somewhere else to eat sushi it could also have mixed the two up but that requires you thinking of the channel while eating there or thinking of your local restaurant while watching the channel. At least thats my own experience well analysed...
The “picture” of Hiro-San holding the halves of the roll is like those of fishermen with their “big” caught fish... 😂 Keep up the great work!!! Love from Greece!
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef I do wish you come to Greece! They say we have amazing tuna!!! And I am pretty sure you will love it overall... 😊😊😊
That looks incredible. For one bite, I think $10 is a good price. I know in my local Asian supermarket, they have live lobsters and they also sell fully cooked whole lobsters. I hope you and your camera man have a good afternoon and a great week, Chef Hiro.
J H I see you in literally every video preaching that garbage. No one is going to go vegan for your pathetic troll comments LOL I’d rather have the lobster, thanks. 😘👋

Yes, I agree.. they're tied for me... it's what I'm feeling.. sometimes I just want that lobster flavor, and tougher (not rubber tough, badly cooked lobster, just compared to crab) texture.. sometimes I want the softer, sweeter crab taste... depends.
Hello Hiro, good to have you back. My husband ordered lobster not alive as where we are it is all cooked but thanked god you show me how to deal with it even when its cooked. Another thing do you remember you did this vegan sushi with spinach well I decided to do it but do not have your patience so did differently. Hiro, do you remember I asked about sweet potato recipe? well it is a sweet dish called imoyokan , i hope i spell that right. Pretty please show how to do it. So glad its not someone else here but you. Big hugs to a greatest chef.

Whenever I watch cooking videos of people having to use live animals,I do admire and like seeing them dispatching of them with respect and dignity rather than stuffing them into a pot of boiling water or something like that and letting them die painfully and slowly. People forget that animals are living creatures too and we should never devalue their worth just for the sake of feeding ourselves. Kudos to you my good sirs :)
Hiro, i love your videos so much, i wish so very much that i had a culinary touch and i wish i could prepare and have available things for sushi where i live...having said all of that, atleast for the next few days i will have to stop watching your videos as i'm in the hospital and not allowed to eat right now and won't be able to eat whole foods for atleast another 4 or 5 weeks and your meals make me so hungry i'm just torturing myself lol, so i will see you again my friend! lol
After watching Master Hiro, local Japanese restaurant missed on Hamachi Kama ... bones left in and ponzu was flat. Wagu , Kobe steak ( I had in Okinawa ) seafood. It’s a honor to see it being treasured .
In new zealand its illegal but we dont listen lol... its not like the police are at ur house 247 to watch u cook a lobster/crayfish... we still cook them alive

When Hiro says it’s a little too hot that means that the heat is hot enough to cook your first layer of skin.

Kinda dumb you're stating a fact that's been known for at least 100 years.
In the early 1900's they still did this. It was fed to Australian prisoners in the early 1900's
