- How you could build a shed using only fresh wet wood direct from the forest. Also how you load heavy logs on a wagon manually and effortlessly easy, and then sawing the logs to kalmar planks.
A follow up video of the shed can be seen here: • A closer look, Is the ...
The log lifter tool is from www.logosol.ca/store/en/more-...
The sawmill is a Logosol M8 www.logosol.com/store/sawmill...
I like your setup! You fit the saying "Work smarter, not harder" perfectly!
I would love to see a follow up video and how it looks after drying more... Great job
Good to see tools that help one man harvest the logs.
You work smart! Great video and I like your way of paneling your planks. Do more vids of your progress please.
At first I didn't know what you were doing, putting up the unedged boards on the wall...But then I saw how you were closing the gaps...I like it very much..When you are cutting your own logs, you don't have to worry so much just how much wood your using for a project...I like it a lot, and very well done.
Live the way you put up those boards!
What a beautiful hand built creation. I thought you were going to cut into square lumber but I like it so much better the way you left it. Some real inspiration there sir. Thanks
that's a new take on board and batten I've never seen! Very cool
thanks for the reply, your stuff is refreshing to watch
That's quite the ingenius method of staggered lap siding shed walls!
I would call that wood poetry👍
Absolutely beautiful😍
Thấy các bạn làm việc tôi thích quá.nghề gỗ tôi rất yêu thích. I love seeing you guys work
This is the second time I've watched this video,, I just love how organize you are a pleasure to watch. If I were younger I'd love to work with you. Very efficient
After watching all the guys with fancy sawmills it was great to so much achieved with a much lower investment in machinery plus working smart. Would love to see the shed develop further and how you do it.
Loving the little lifter !! looks great "nobody knows or Understands he's a one man Band"
Liked watching your shed construction. The Loggersol seems expensive for what you get but it seems to be well built. You have good equipment.
You made it look easy. Thanx for the ideas.Great job.
Brilliant! I have been wanting to process my trees into lumber for years. What stopped me was mostly that I couldn’t figure out how to lift and carry the logs by myself. Not only did you show me that it’s possible, but now I know how. Thank you so much.
Thanks Nikolay! Funny you bring that up now, in about 2 weeks time I plan to upload a video showing 5 ways to load logs on a wagon manually, so stay tuned :-)
Smart work, nice structure and
Beautiful music!!
Thanks for sharing!!
thats a cool way to do board and batten. thanks for sharing
That log lifter looks great
*Nicely done, Sir. Clever, cunning, quick and inexpensive. I do like the LOGOSOL sawmill you got yourself, smart! And i REALLY Liked the LOGOSOL Smart Pusher, too! It is so obvious once you see it, right? Much the same as the old 200 year old post and beam cow barn i grew up with, except they use white pine edge cut wood a foot wide and set side by side so the barn would breath. They were taken from trees that would produce more than 36 inch "wash boards trim" for the bottoms of the farmhouse rooms. Timber back then was all original growth and huge stuff.*
My dad build his house out of fresh cut Hemlock lumber. Easy to nail into and cut then after years the wooded dried out and the nails will not pull out. So it was a sturdy and durable house. Still standing after all these years. Built in 1950. Great job there.
Love that awesome log lifting tool, in fact your whole damn deal is just too sweet!!
Thanks Montana :-)
Right? That jack is a back saver I would imagine...well, the whole set up is really.
Very nice with the rough bark ends exposed.
i could hang out with this guy for a weekend
Excellent. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing.
I really like the greenhouse roof you have on there
The lines the live edge gives a "wavy" look is really beautiful - made my wife stop and come watch... adds an aesthetic value by keeping it simple...well done
Absolutely beautiful!!👍
How wonderful, so organic
That hand crank is cool beans!
Wow, that was awesome. You're an artist sir! Very cool wood operation.
Absolutely beautiful! Great work!
Thanks Jake :-)
Love the jack. I have an immediate need for one 👍
The jack is available in US and maybe in Canada too, I love it also :-)
Greetings form Newfoundland CANADA. Great vid tfs!
Enjoyable videos - many thanks.
Nice job thanks for sharing.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Charles!
Very, Very clever. And smart too!
Dad would have loved your channel. He would have liked to have had that mill too. As a young kid I went in the woods every weekend and help him cut his own wood to build our weekend cabin. He cut every stick. But he had a local sawmill cut the lumber for him. Then he would bring it home and stack it up in the driveway and let it dry.
Great memories to have!!
@@Eriks-flying-sawdust-channel Fun to be in and remember. That was a lot of work :o
You work real hard friend, deserve any reward and success that comes your way.
Thanks Brian :-)
Sweet man! I loved all of that video !
The tower is looking good. You could build a couple more in different places. By the pond would be fun.
Finally, a worthwhile video shows up in my recommendations.
Great Job‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸
A video of the shed 9 month later can be seen here : ruclips.net/video/OD_6VhSOI1w/видео.html
Super satisfying
Klasse gemacht, Respekt!
Nice job. Well done.
Gostei das ferramentas que ele usa para carregar a madeira na carreta do trator. Muito prática!
Cool shed.
Think I'll build a scab rack like you have for the slab off-cuts. Thanks. 👍
Totally Awesome !!! Too COOL !!!!
Wow, that is awesome !
Very impressive well done 👍👍👍👍!!!!!!!
Thanks Glenn!
Absolutely superb
Beautiful work thank you for the video. :)
Great work, very satisfying and the aroma must have been amazing
It is, I love the smell of sawdust :-)
Good work sir. Love it.
Great one man operation!
Wonderful! Music was just right.
The only word I can think of to describe this guy is AMAZING.
I´m blushing, can you please tell my wife :-)
Erik Straarup 😂😂😂😂😂
Cool shed
Beautiful
The fast forward & the bgmusic reminds me of Charlie Chaplin's movies... Enjoyed watching this video.. Creative tools.. 😉✌
Control is the most valuable skill man possesses.
It's a mindset isn't it. Slow down, take it easy and do the best you can. I have a favorite nephew that I tell this to all the time. I think it works because he's now foreman at his company. i'm very proud of him and tell him all the time.
Well done , from canafa
That’s a very interesting setup you got there. I enjoyed watching your video. Is a
Oops- that got away from me too fast. Is that mill available in the states? God bless
@@TheBeardedCarpenter Thanks, I am sure they sell it in the states too, try google Logosol and contact them :-)
This guy is a Pro..
I need one of those.
Génial et très intelligent
Love the look of your new building. I'd love to see it in about a year, after the wood naturally dries out, shrinks and changes color. Will you add any protective agent to the panels?
No, the panels will remain unprotectet :-)
Thank-you!

Genius. He can also dance and sing.
great video sir
SIR, YOU are a regular rube goldberg!! great job! well thought out! I would have still been tryin to start my chainsaw!
Interesting way to build but it’s beautiful
Superfedt værktøj, du løfter stammerne med...snygt!
That was incredible!🥃🥃
Bet that smells wonderful
That soooo much work for one man..I have no idea how the old timers did it by hand, and horse..
What is the log lifting device called?
Yeah, that was a nice tool
Mr. Straarup, as I watched this, I marveled how simply you did the hard work I fret over, loading a trailer with logs looks easy when you do it, one question comes to mind as I watched you cut boards, since that is actually a chainsaw chain, could you or not cut boards in BOTH directions, as in saw is going away from you and when it is coming back to you? Just wondering if the drive mechanism is set up to do that.
Hi Ben
Thanks, I try to do as little work as possible :-) I haven´t tried to saw both ways, I think it will be a mess because the saw then will push the log away from the contact face of the sawmill. There is not much holding the log that way. Also all the sawdust wil then cover logs waiting to be sawn.
Where do I find a log timber jack like that, i need one
Good!
Looks like alot of fun! how much did this setup cost?
nice
A shed to keep your sawmill drops in!
Erik that winch stick is awesome! did you design and build this yourself?
Hé build it
I found this very relaxing to watch. I've wondered about building with green wood. Have you done that before? When it dries, how bad is the damage? I'm building a sawmill now, and want to do the same. Wondering how it turns out.
Thanks, there is no damage. I Think because I cut it in the Winter when the moister in the wood is low. Also the shedd is under a roof and is protected from the Sun. I am Very please.
@@Eriks-flying-sawdust-channel I've done some more research on this (your video made me curious) and it turns out all the "board and batten" siding on barns and things have always been done with green wood. You shed is basically this technique (your battens are larger but the idea is the same). So if it's worked for 100s of years it's certainly good enough for me! Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it and your video.
If it is not aerated properly and the build is inside your house it could cause some vapor damage, mold, mildew. He’s outside in some sort of structure that I’m sure has some amount of wind blowing through.
What’s that log jack hand crank thing you have to lift the logs to your tractor trailer in the beginning of the video
Logosol smart pusher
So many great ideas I've picked up from this one video. Learned a few things as well. Subscribed. Thank you!
Do they sell, or ship I should say, this mill in the States?
Thanks, I am sure they sell it in the states too, try google Logosol and contact them :-)
www.logosol.us/store/portable-sawmills/
Thank you!
This mill is really nice. What is the largest, circumference, log can you cut? Are you in the States, Canada or a European country? It is one of the safer setups I have seen.
About 40 cm, with the bar I curently use. I am in Denmark, Europe.
GOOD
Vous êtes très astucieux
I have never seen anyone load a trailer like that, I love it. What was that tool you used?
Link in the description :-)
Question: These planks cut from green timber are being used indoors & off the ground. I presume they will season as they dry out.
I have some straight & very green sycamore trunks which I want to use as legs for a deck I'm building. I want to obviously set them in the ground by about 1.5ft. I want to know if it will be a problem for the underground part of the wood. Is it just going to rot in time? Any help/advice appreciated!
I am not familiare with sycamore trunks, but all the wood i know will rot over time if set in the ground :-)
@@Eriks-flying-sawdust-channel Thank you for the response. I am seriously reconsidering my original plan already!
Try the burning method maybe.
Then let everyone know in 10 to 15 years lol
