    I read many years ago about a gay medical doctor who passed out anabolic steroids to all the top bodybuilders in exchange for sexual favors. Never learned anymore about it. Never knew the doctor's name or what happened to him . . . until now.
    A lot of research went into this video. Thank you for that!

      I'm a bit hesitant to say definitively that Michalik was referring to Jekot, although that was the rumor.
      I cross referenced this with Marc Martinez who has more insight to Michalik than me, and he said, Michalik being an East Coast guy, probably would have seen docs from that area.
      The likelihood of a doc prescribing bodybuilders steroids for 2 decades being gay does seem to indicate the likelihood of it being Jekot though

    • @johnsambo9379

      Yep. Ric Drasin talked about the same Dr. The owner of Gold's during the Pumping Iron era was a gay hustler and pornstar. He directed gay loops with many of the bodybuilders in the gym. Ric Drasin was in an atleast one of those gay porn films.

    • @PinnaclePete
      @PinnaclePete Год назад

      @johnsambo9379 Wow! Ric too! It must have been hard to get the "good stuff" back then, and some bodybuilders would go the extra mile to get it. I've read that gay magazine Colt hired guys like Ken Sprague and Bob Birdsong. I know Chris Dickerson did pornographic shoots too.

    Thanks; a couple of comments. Please let me know what you think; having watched bodybuilding since the early 70s it looked to me as if there were changes in the drug protocols of guys I followed, which is never considered or discussed. Schwarzenegger in ‘74, looked closer to today’s drug protocols re size and vascularity, and I suspected since then that there was a difference in what he was taking. Primobolin for example; he was getting the rare Euro version, for what that’s worth. Robbie, summer of 77; the gym photos were freakier than before. Draper late 60s-unfortunately, the better photographers Weider employed don’t seem to have released their collections, leaving us with precious few pics of Draper, Oliva and others at their very best re diet/drugs. The second thing: GH usage. The first time I read about this was Pete Grymkowski mid-late 70s; it was never clear there were many GH users then beyond him and a few others, but based on what I’m hearing in this clip, maybe there were..It looked to me as if the 80s were mainly about the addition of GH, in terms of much thinner skin/greater cuts.

    • @Keranu
      @Keranu Год назад +4

      Draper looked phenomenal when he slimmed down in the late 60s. His waist size shrunk considerably and it gave him this incredible silhouette. Truly one of the most unique physiques ever.

    I think Weider missed the boat and couldve been ahead of the time by pushing Robbie Robison as under 200 pound champion to gain more African American fans and future body builders think Lee Hanley who said he had a Robbie pic on his wall he drew but Weider didnt . Think back then if he had made him a mega star how many more fans he couldve made it faster , because i thought body builders like Robbie Robison , John Brown , Craig Monson who was a mass monster back then i think 280 doing skull crushers with 300 pounds , Weider had stars who couldve helped the sport get bigger faster and those 3 body builder would win outside their own country England , Germany win 1st place come home and be lucky to get top 10 if you dont know watch them , John Brown helped Shawn Ray on posing under rated .
