I replaced the decals on my factory 38s when I got my bike a couple of years ago (Slik Graphics FTW, they included the spacer sticker), I found the old ones peeled off easily enough without heat. I did give the forks a rub down with isopropyl afterwards, just to be sure, but they were already pretty clean.
It is very strange though, cause even though one was a nightmare to remove, the other almost went in one go. Which was horrible in your case? Maybe right leg is the harder for some reason?
No, not at all. In instances when you saw it being using in this video few times, it was before applying new stickers. That area of top right lower leg had very small sticker to be added :)

Agree, there was not much leftovers after removing the stickers, but cleaning the surface just guarantees better appliance !
the first leg i did was horrible i could only peel a tiny piece off, used a heat gun for the other side and it came off wayyy faster

Does isopropyl alcohol help remove them?
