    I was an iPhone user since the 3GS but made the switch to Android about 4 years ago. This year I made the switch back to iPhone with the 14 Pro and I'm loving it. I love both systems. But there's just something about the fluidity of Apple that is a pleasure to use. Sure it's a bit simpler than Android but I'm 36, I want a simple life 😅 Still got a lot of love for Android but I'm happy in Apple land for now...

      I have always exclusively used Android (Samsung) phones, but I was drawn to the 14 Pro. It has been pretty difficult to get used to how "limited" IOS is (I really don't like the entire iTunes music and photo syncing, the way the photo gallery works, how u have to go in settings to change the wallpaper, etc.). But now I'm in that stage where I got used to it, and started appreciating the fluidity of the system so much, that I can settle for the "limited" operating system. I do miss the many options and QoL functions my previous phones had, so I'm hoping for iOS to become a bit more 'technical' than this.

      Only goes down to 1hz on aod

    • @hobosnake1
      @hobosnake1 Год назад +9

      Only on AOD. Something strange about that. Samsung phones have had this throttling of refresh rate for a long time before Apple and even they only go down to 1hz on the AOD. I guess the shift from 1 to 120hz in actual operation might look a little jarring? Not sure why it's limited.

    • @hobosnake1
      @hobosnake1 Год назад +1

      @Joe Shmoe I thought the transitions were instant the second the phone screen is touched. I don't pretend to be an expert, I just figured it'd be possible. I don't notice the screen going from 60hz to 120hz or anything like that when changing through content on my phone, so I thought maybe 1hz to 120hz would work, but that makes sense. I do know samsung had ltpo only one year before apple, but that is a lot of time. It doesn't make sense that you still get jank with it when loading videos on Twitter. The Twitter scroll lag is horrible to begin with on Samsung phones but then when I got my first ltpo (s22 ultra) it fucks up any time there's a video on Twitter feed. Google pixel can scroll just fine on Twitter. I just don't understand how animations and this crap are so bad on Samsung compared to iphone. This is the one case where I agree that "apple waits until it's perfect to implement it"
      Usually that just means apple is slow af and behind on features. In this case, I do think they delivered a way better high refresh rate experience.
      I don't even know what this original conversation was about so sorry for rambling.

    • @King-zx4qr
      @King-zx4qr Год назад +1

      I don't think this was intended as an improvement. I'm sure they could've made the AOD go down to 1hz on previous devices, but they probably had no reason to do so because the battery life was already competitive with other phones. The 14 has noticeably worse battery life so they are just doing what they can to try and negate it as much as possible.

Everything seems fluid and smooth.. i don't even remember the last time my phone lagged, especially to the point where i'd need to reset it.. something i can't say about android (judging from my past experiences). i wanted to see how ios feels and i don't regret it a bit. I've come to realize that all the features like the 10x optical lens, the s pen, android's never ending customization, etc. are things that I either never use or just plain don't care about. Not to mention how much of a pain it is sharing pictures and video between my friends when 99% of them have iphones. My pics come through looking worse than they do on my phone, and as everyone knows the iphone to android quality destruction is horrible. Very much so looking forward to the increased performance/efficiency and especially the far better battery life. Great video man!

      The s23 ultra has battery life that's as good as the 14 pro max but it's arguably better because of the faster 45w charging which is by no means the fastest charging "like not even close' but it's way faster than any iPhone. The issue where sending blurry pics to iPhone users is a serious issue but it's basically down to Apple purposely cutting resolution to keep people inside the "walled garden" which is completely wrong, and paying apple to limit their own users over a rivalry is just insane. I personally love the freedom I get with my android devices.

      I do everything, yes everything besides scanning qr codes, etc, from a monitor and barely touch the phone. Android allows this, and other things, way more flexible than ios. I play around with these things from my iphone and it's just plainly annoying and limited to use, for many things, and I'm not the most techie person out there.
      Using the Razr flip on construction sites too is way more convenient, same as when I sit at a restaurant I can just refer to the mini screen to read and reply.

It's a way more beautiful and amazing modern looking smartphone. The iphone looks stuck in 2014 to be honest. It's vomit inducing. Because Android phones after 2 years old become insufferably glitchy, slow, clunky and usually stop receiving updates, while iPhones get updated for at least 6 years straight.
      I switched to iPhone back in 2018 and I probably won't be switching back, especially since the good android phones cost as much, if not more, than an iPhone these days and it's just not worth it for a phone that will be forgotten about in 2 years.

I started with the Note 10+ which I absolutely loved, then a Note 20 Ultra which was another banger and now an S20 Ultra. I find Android a pleasure with all the customization I can perform. I use my iPhone 13 Pro Max Mon-Thur as a tool for work then the S20 Ultra Thur-Sun for fun. When I go back to my iPhone the most noticeable difference is the performance. Now there is only a 1 year difference between both my devices but it seems more like 5 years. Android is a power hungry ram sucking operating system. Seems like 12G of RAM isn't even enough at times. Someday I'll find an Android device that can perform as well as the iPhone.

    after upgrading to Samsung's most powerful flagship (s22 ultra), I really just felt underwhelmed by everything. I've been an android user since I got my first phone, and I've had some really bad phones before, so I felt as if the s22 ultra should shake things up and change everything. it really didn't for me. I didn't use the eye popping features as much as I thought I would, I always have to charge my phone before the end of the day, and the experience is just really choppy, lots of lag when switching from task to task. I'm excited to get my iPhone 14 pro max and see if it changes things up.

      I feel the same way. I had been using the 2nd gen iphone SE for a while, then I decided to buy my first flagship and decided the amazing features of the S22 Ultra were enough to sway me over. I've learned that the things I was most excited about such as the s pen, 10x optical zoom, etc are all things that I hardly use, if I use them at all. Had the screen crack from dropping it on a carpeted floor so Samsung is buying the phone back from me for full retail price. Looks like I'm switching back to iphone and grabbing myself either a 14 Pro or Pro Max. Looking forward to the increased performance and especially the far better battery life.

There’s videos on RUclips showing this with actual scientific methods. Plus the fact that you aren’t smarter than the guys engineering the electrical in an iPhone. THOSE guys are so smart they already KNOW guys like you THINK you’re smart. That 100% on your iPhone isn’t 100%. All you’re doing is using more mental energy micro managing your charging. You can do the same on iPhone and on Samsung Galaxy + Windows Pc, including Samsung Pc.
      There are a lot of thing i can do almost the same on my iPhone and on my Android device but there are few important thing that i can’t do on my iPhone that i do everyday easily on my Android :
      1) Multitasking with Split screen
      2) Clone app which i use for both Personal, Professional or Associative account
      3) Using Back Gesture the same way on every app with swiping : i don’t need to go on the top of an app to go back
      4) Ability to place icons on my homescreen wherever i want.
      4 features which have nothing to do with an Ecosystem thing.
      I don’t own neither a smartwatch, nor a tablet and i don’t need them; only my phone and my Windows Pc.
      I got an amazing 13 Pro Alpine Green and it works well but itself, it’s not impressive. I could do the same + those 4 features on a S22 Ultra or Pixel 7 Pro or Oppo Find X5 Pro.

      @@joeyjoey7972 lmao you clearly don’t know what your talking about 6.1 inch is not to small at 😂literally 90% of people will tell u that’s the perfect size for a phone and they have. And anyone that wants bigger can go for the 6.7. Apple could easily make their phones lighter however going a lot lighter also losses that premium expensive phone feel, there are hardly any good well polished features that android has that iOS doesn’t is laughable that you think there is. The “split screen” feature that u talked about is really not a necessary feature for the average user which is literally apples target market. However I’m sure this will come very soon and it will work in a way that is a lot smoother than android could ever do because iOS is just the superior software I’m not saying it’s amazing cos their is room for improvement like anything but obviously apple isn’t going to give all the features they can fast they are going to work on them over time make them perfect then release them and work on another because they have to release features slow if they wanna stay in a market where they release a phone every year otherwise they will simply run out of things u can add to a phone since phones are now at a point where they are a very powerful device. Anything that’s brand new is gonna have some kind of bugs that how it is, 99% of the bugs have already been fixed or if not will
      be fixed within weeks because apple act fast with these. There are many phones that have the same price point as apples like the S22 ultra which and the price is hard to justify for that to but that’s just because of what’s been normalised in society. Your thoughts on everything a iPhone should have at this current time is ridiculous and you clearly haven’t really thought about anything u are saying.

Very intuitive and easy to use, and I’d consider this an overall upgrade, but there are definitely a lot more quirks/bugs on the iOS and things that I preferred on Android. I’d describe Apple as a gimmicky luxury product that’s not without its bugs and flaws. One thing I hate about Apple is that almost everything is paid in App Store, and it seems dominated by dubious apps. Google Play is definitely more diverse and trustworthy

    I actually switched from my S21Ultra to the iphone 14pro and so far I'm quite happy (main reason was that I wanted a flagship that would fit comfortably in my hands^^)... To get rid of the wallpaper in the AOD I just downloaded a black jpg to use as a wallpaper... I also exchanged the default keyboard for swiftkey, that's what I've been using on android for the last couple of years... My only gripe with IOS is that all pictures just get tossed into the same folder. Camera, facebook, browser-downloads, reddit, 9gag... It's a huge mess... On android every app creates it's own folder so when I want to browse my own photos I just go into that folder... Anyone got a solution for that?

Apple in all its might decided to suspend my apple ID, i managed to use the phone for 2 weeks. Apple support refuses to tell me why its suspended and they tell me that there is nothing apple can do for me anymore. They tell me that ”you might have maybe broken terms of services” And thats all i get. Now im stuck with semi bricked phone, since i cannot log out of apple id to reset my phone, and cannot access apple store. I got the phone trough work, and our leasing company is hard to reach. Excellent battery life
      More reliable cameras than most Androids, except maybe the P7 series
      Best video on a phone
      Monstrously powerful chips that last fluid for 7 or more years
      Face ID is butter and secure
      The haptics are world class
      The app experience is MILES ahead of Android, MILES.
      And if you use the Shortcuts app, it will make your life easier than ever before.
      And so on
      I’m saying this as a former Pixel user and fanboy. I still get happy to see the success of the Pixel, but there’s literally nothing that can touch the iPhone in terms of nailing the basics and maximising the functionality you get.
      Android will let you do whatever you want with your phone, and that’s its USP alongside its price.
