- Back in September, I upgraded my iPhone 12 Pro to the iPhone 14 Pro. I was hesitant at first about this upgrade because the 14 Pro did not seem that impressive. Now after 6 months of using this phone, I'm glad I did. There are new features on this device that are now integral features I use day to day, like always on display.
Given the fact that the 12 pro and 14 pro look that much different, I can understand people's confusion as to what actually is different between these two phones. In today's video, I will give you my full thoughts on the good, the bad, and the useless on this iPhone 14 Pro after using it for 6 months.

I upgraded from the iPhone 8 to the 14 Pro Max. I upgraded because my iPhone 8 was damaged and it couldn’t last me 1 hour and 30 mins of screen on time, so I decided to pre order the 14 Pro Max. I absolutely love the phone and have had no problems. Only problem I had was the notification boxes going from round rectangles to sharp rectangles. So Yh, flawless experience.

upgraded from the 13 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max, regret that decision now. Dynamic island isn't anything special and I leave the AOD off. I don't mind tapping the phone once to see the screen
Yeah it just not big enough of an upgrade from the two to justify it imo. Hopefully it didn't cost you too much!
Upgrading to just the subsequent model is not fruitful. One should upgrade after at least 3-4 years
You can always use lift to wake as well. I love it. Just grab the phone and it’ll wake up.

Nice video thanks, I'll look at the 15 Pro when it gets released. I hope they do a blue colour. I used to have the 12 Pro in pacific blue, but sold it went to Samsung for a change and wanted more innovation and customisation so now on a Flip 4. However, personally I think I've come to realise i prefer a flat display as apposed to unfolding all the time to use the phone. Although when folded the form factor is great.
Totally understandable! I think folding phones do remove the convenience of a flat phone though I’m sure it came with its own benefits as well!
I upgraded to the 14 Pro from the 12 Mini, while I enjoyed the Mini during my time with it the Pro definitely brings a few more features that can be useful

Great Video! I didn't know I could turn off the wallpaper on the always on display but now it definitely stay off! I Upgraded from a 11 pro max to the 14 pro and I am really enjoying it so far!

Coming from the SE (2020), it’s a decent enough upgrade regarding the display, camera features, and Face ID .. the dynamic island is limited as you mentioned..it seems not much is different and I’d still be happy with the SE, but the 14 Pro looks and feels much more “premium” as it should. It’s a worthy upgrade imo.

Just got the 14 Pro Max and I'm glad you mentioned about taking the wallpaper off to save battery. Otherwise coming from 12 Pro I'm enjoying the bigger screen, way better battery life and how fast it seems to performance, Cheers man!

I’m just like you, I just upgraded a couple days ago from the 12 Pro to the 14 Pro Max and am enjoying the same things. My wife had an Android phone and wanted to switch back to iPhone, so I gave her my 12 Pro and got this. I missed having a bigger phone, and the Pro Max definitely satisfies that desire. The bigger battery was also a major factor for me as my 12 Pro hit two years old and I was noticing faster drops in health.
I was prepared for dynamic island to be nothing but a gimmick , however I find it helpful tbh. For calls and music etc.

I upgraded from the 8 plus a few months ago…that phone is still a solid phone…no doubt I do like the 14 pro….BTW my battery life improved quite a bit when I increased the “The Reduce White Point” from the default 25% to 40%…Settings >Accessibility >Display and Text Size..scroll to bottom…

@@billct657 Legend. If you come across anymore tips let me know! The battery life of the 14 Pro Max has been surprising - it definitely does not have the legs of my brothers 13 Pro Max.
Your video is really positive, most of the RUclipsr are just following the crowd or say mkbhd type channels, if one said new iphone is bad and has no innovations then everyone says the same thing. I personally love this 14 pro. I always disliked iphones but I'm going to college their ecosystem (macbook+iphone+airpods) would be more than good for me

I upgraded from my purple 12 to my deep purple 14 pro in 512gb. This phone is beyond amazing & I absolutely love everything about it. I might upgrade to the 15 but I’m not quite sure yet bc the 14 pro does everything I need it to do.

I once had an iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, and an iPhone 4S back in the day as a youngin. And, after that, a whole slew of Android and Google phones. Upgraded from all that to an iPhone 14 Pro? Heck. To the yeah. This phone is a total throwback for me, man. I started my smartphone life like that, after landlines, bar phones, and flip phones. Lol.

I had a 11P from release date. I upgraded to the 14PM in January and to be honest I really think it was a smart choice. My 11 was going to give up on me, I maybe could have waited for the 15 but since apple is increasing their prices for 15 I think getting a 14 is the smarter choice. My battery lasts about 12-16 hours too

I have a Samsung S8 and was thinking of switching to iPhone soon. Was going to buy an iPhone 14 Pro but then decided to wait until September to see the iPhone 15 lineup + the new features of those phones. If I like the iPhone 15 I'll probably get that and if not I'll get the iPhone 14 Pro 😅
I think thats the best idea with being only a little over 4 months away at this point! I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever one you decide to go with.

I currently have Realme X2 pro, the only flaw this phone has is realme only gives 2 years of major updates which didn't know at that time. Apart from that this phone is one most perfect phone made till date. I'm planning to buy 14 pro in a few months. Super dooper excited 🤩

I upgraded from iphone x to 14 Promax and it is a big jump.I love the camera on it and the battery is amazing but the night mood shoots are not as i aspected but the video is really good.I dont use The AOD and the dynamic island is not that of a new feature but the pro motion display and the camera make it really worth it. Overall the jump was really worth it but i wont recommend if you have an iphone12 pro or above

I upgraded from s10e to 14 pro max, and oh my god what a jump, this phone is amazing, battery, screen, smoothness, animations, how apps work, everything works so good and its so polished, and i got airpods pro 2 and apple watch series 8 they just work like magic, i will never go back to android.

Yeah I think you’d be fine without the 14 pro. And with the 15 pro coming in about 5 months, I’d recommend holding off (if possible) and see what that phone will have to offer
I have the xr and don’t know if I want the 14 pro or just a 13. Idc bout the cameras at all I won’t lie all I’m really looking at is speed while multitasking and battery life. After this vid I feel like the dynamic island ain’t that big of a game changer yet so idk should I just get the 13?
I think you’d be fine with a 13 pro max if you’re hoping for speed and battery life. But not sure how much more of an improvement in those things you need from that Xr that you currently have. consider watching our other video on the 13 mini. Arnell does a great job explaining his experience with that phone. That maybe of interest for you if you don’t care for getting the 14 pro or any of the pro models in general.
I upgraded from the regular iPhone 11 to the iPhone 14 pro and I absolutely love it so far.

If you hate the battery drain from the AOD, just turn it off. Now that it's been a few months and bugs have been worked out, I'm finally upgrading the to 14 pro
Yeah its nice to be able to turn off AOD but it’s also nice to have the AOD with just text and no backgrounds. The battery life of my iPhone is not effected as much when I have AOD on without backgrounds. Hope you enjoy your upgrade!

I have two phones, an iphone xs and a z flip4 that I bought last year. I've been daydreaming about the 14 pro since I got my z flip4. I don't plan on selling it, I plan on selling the iphone xs and keep having both android and ios, but, here in Brazil, the 14 pro is really expensive and I might have to sell both phones, what would you recommend me to do? Is it that worthy for me to sell a foldable phone that's brand new?
Oh man! That’s a tough choice! I really enjoy my 14 pro, but if you love your z flip I’d say don’t get rid of it if you can manage. The 14 pro should be going down in price soon. So maybe it’ll be more available for you to be able to get the 14 pro while keeping your z flip. If not possible and absolutely curious - I’d say it’s worth both those phones. But that’s just a personal opinion!

Would you be able to wait for the 15 pro in September? since the price isn’t that much different brand new? Because if you don’t like the 15 pro you could potentially see a larger price difference for the 14 pro.

Would the Dynamic Island mean that the things you do with your thumb at the bottom of the screen using 1 hand, mean you have to use your finger and 2 hands ?
not necessarily. I'm able to tap on the Dynamic Island with my one hand. Does that answer your question?
@@ardentlytech yes …..I always used my right thumb for everything , even though I have large hands , I can’t see my right thumb getting up there whilst the phone is cradled in my right hand .

I have a 13 pro max since last year but only one problem, my screen has touch issues. A lot of times I would have accidental touches and I know this shouldn’t happen because this is a flat screen phone. And I get accidental skips on apps like instagram, TikTok and RUclips. I don’t want to switch to the 14 pro max I love my 13 pro max, what should I do
You might be able to take it to the Apple Store and get it checked. As long as it’s not some damaged they’ll probably fix it or replace it regardless if you have Apple care. I could be wrong but I’d give them a call if you can
I upgraded from a used XS max, the upgrade is worth for me for holding out that long.

Scrolling through the comments and everyone seems to be pleased with their upgrade so I’m a bit confused as to how and why no one is talking about the camera.
The camera on the 14pro struggles to focus. At first I thought it was only with the third party apps but turns out it is not.
I just got mine 4 days ago and I upgraded from the 12pro.
I came across your video became I was looking for a solution to this.
Do I take it back to the store ?? Is this something that’ll be fixed with a new iOS upgrade as I noticed those who got theirs few months ago experienced shaky camera and the iOS 16 fixed it.

Sorry to hear you’ve had issues with your camera! I never had an issue with my 14pro’s camera focusing. I would definitely bring it back to the store, I’m sure they will either fix it or replace it if it’s doing that. You could have just received a bad model. Hope it works out for you!

@@lilmissice you might be mistaking the high minimum focus distance for focusing issues. 14 pros due to their much larger sensors don’t have a very good minimum focus distance so you can’t get too close to objects without it switch to macro
im using a samsung a20e and its really slow cant even run tiktok normal so i want to upgrade to a 14 pro or pro max but i dont know which one i heard that the pro max has way better battery life but i think its too big for me since im only 14 and have small hands but now that we have the feature to turn off the back ground with the always on display i think it may be ok to get the pro
14 pro is plenty screen size. I think it’s the perfect size

@@ardentlytech to be quite honest the base model iphone 14 would get way to hot and unusable without it being on the charger or being used so I switched to the 14 pro max and don’t have the issue anymore

Totally understand wanting to upgrade to the 14pro from a regular 13. I think it’s completely up to you. If you would benefit from some of the Pro features that your 13 doesn’t have. Then I think you’ll enjoy this phone. But if you’re able to wait through September. You’ll be able to upgrade to the 15 pro that might be introducing some major upgrades you might enjoy as well. That being said. If you do end up waiting and don’t like the 15 pro. At least the 14 pro will be cheaper!

If you’re able to, I would say so. But otherwise, you could be fine with upgrading to the 14 now.

@@geoazar03 It varies, but the main thing is being aware of the heat of your phone, if it gets too hot while charging, pull it off. heat is the main destroyer of battery life.

@@ardentlytech I like the size but the battery is decreasing it’s already at 89% and I’ve as since last year in January. So I’m ready do a bigger phone with a better display, better batter life & they can handle what I throw at it without dying so fast 😭
Totally understandable! Arnell did a great video on that 13 mini and there seems to be a ton of people who really enjoy that phone. That being said I’m sure you’re really gunna enjoy the benefits of the pro models when it comes to battery life!

@@alexolliverr we can’t expect more battery life from a 6.1” phone! But 14 pro lasts more time compared to the other similar sized iphones like 12 pro,13,13 pro, 14 without 120hz and always on display turned off

i hated my 14 pro due to shift from big screen phone ,games and videos are smaller but one important thing is audio quality it is definitely different class

I have a S23 base and an iPhone 14 pro. The screen resolution is noticeably better on the 14 p. Huge difference.
