    This is my favourite Z channel because of the detail you go in to and think about all the little things most others wouldn’t consider. Engine bay looks super clean and I hope to one day get mine looking half as nice. Another great vid 👍🏼

      Put the car through a good test today. 33 degrees Celsius ambient temperature, highway and city driving and the car had good pull, even with the coolant temp getting over 100 degrees Celsius. Cruising is would be around 90ish.

      Absolutely Agree. Z’s are awesome cars. But they are very intricate. By that I mean so many little things affect the cars performance and drivability. I
      For example: t’s not like other cars where an exhaust upgrade provides the same result on every car.
      EVERY little thing matters on Z cars. And Anthony really takes the time to help explain that with his attention to detail.

    I’ve done one of a kind build on my DE true 4 inch cold air intake all the way to bumper with the biggest 4 inch velocity stack USA green filter huge ass intake lol I made myself All motor build, cams, ported heads, pulleys, tomei headers exhaust, 14 pound flywheel and clutch, E85, ported polished plenum upper and lower, GTR injectors, aem fuel pump, NWP 75mm tb, modified upper plenum cut the bolt heads off on the upper sanded polished everything down and a 5/16 spacer with all thermal gaskets no heat soaking and sprayed the plenums down in heat resistant paint. Fully gutted car is under 2700 pounds. Gotta be one of the fastest 1st gen DE 2003 Z all motor around on the street if I had to guess

    I actually chose to utilize the rev up manifold, then port matched the lower runners and plenum. Polished. Then re-tuned. My z DE revs higher so i could utilize all that extra flow up top. Its effortless to move now. Your next mod should be trying to get your hands on a 3.9 final drive. Believe me.....worth every penny.

    I did a similar video to this. I have thermal and plastic gaskets, my manifold is stone cold during winter and during summer I ran it on average speeds of 80-90 mph and my manifold was still cool. The only downside is when your turn off the car and park the hot air will lift from the chamber thru the intake channels and will cause the whole manifold system to be hot.

    I like the way it looks and it does fit the OEM+ theme you were going for.
    Things I dont like are the angled spacer and the aftermarket strut bar.
    The aftermarket bars with pivot points are more for looks and not as structurally stiff.
    Personally I went with the Kinetix as I feel that even with all its flaws it is still better than the OEM setup + spacer for making power up top.

      @AnthonyJ350 Makes sense, one of the things I like to tackle with my car personally is to improve on the car's deficiencies and the factory manifold definitely is one of them.
      I know the Revup and DE are slightly different and respond differently to certain modifications, I don't have any experience with Revup engines myself.

    • @crimsonsw21
      @crimsonsw21 Год назад +1

      @AnthonyJ350 I got the Velocity, although not an ideal design, it certainly fixes the balancing issue with the stock manifold.
      It gets a bad rep, but in reality, any time you see a DE near that 300whp mark or beyond...it will either have the Velocity or a stock manifold with the neck cut off and modified. The stock throttle body neck is terrible for NA power, they discovered that when doing testing at SG motorsports for the headers and intake that never happened.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Год назад +2

      @@crimsonsw21 REVUPs have variable valve timing on intake and exhaust. They respond really well to the MREV2 and a plenum spacer and develops really good midrange power.

I've been following you off and on for years as a fellow fan and driver of a 350z...you've really come a long way. :) Just stumbled onto this video drawn in by the thumbnail seeing red valve covers....PLEASE....can you share where you got those? Would do that as well in a heart beat and the Z is leaking anyway so this will be one of the next things that will be done I think. Thinking the timing cover would look beautiful powder coated in that same red....like an old hot rod engine? A lot of work to get that done but a thought for a future upgrade if anything fails that needs that that timing cover removed to then have it powder coated..

    I have just bought the sikky gaskets to go between the block and runners, would you still suggest the motordyne iso thermal gasket over the sikky version? I already have the motordyne one as I got it with my plenum spacer and mrev2.
    Also what did you use to coat your plenum and would you recommend coating the upper, lower plenums and runners inside and out?
    I will be installing the Z1 CAI on my DE, would you recommend coating that in anything? I’m planning on wrapping it in heat resistant tape but was wondering if I should treat it with anything to prevent corrosion? I have had to modify the end slightly to fit my filter better.
    Finally some of the welds on the z1 intake are a little rough but I don’t want to weaken any of the joints, someone suggested using some jb weld to try and smoothen the inside of the tube out and I’m not sure if that’s a good idea or not.
    Sorry for all the questions.
