    Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1: amzn.to/2VYv3mE
    Content
    2 cups of rice
    10-12 drumsticks
    Marinade:
    6 tbsp Soy sauce
    1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
    3 tbsp Brown sugar
    Aromatics:
    Thumb sized ginger, smashed
    8 cloves Garlic, smashed
    1 star anise
    2.5 cup Water
    1 green onion, roughly dropped
    1. Heat up the instant pot by pressing the sauté button. Wait until the indicator says “hot”. Once it’s ready, toast the aromatics - 1 smashed pice of ginger, roughly the size of your thumb, 8 smashed cloves of garlic, 1 green onion, roughly chopped and 1 star anise for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
    2. Make the marinade for the chicken. Combine 6 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce and 6 tablespoons of brown sugar. Give these a quick stir until all the sugar has dissolved.
    3. Add the ingredients to the instant pot! Pour the sauce into the instant pot and add the chicken. Close the lid on the instant pot, switch the valve to seal and set the instant pot to 8 minutes at high pressure. When the timer reaches zero, let the instant pot naturally release for 8 minutes and then quick release. When all the pressure has been released, open the lid of the instant pot. Remove the drumsticks and add it to a bed of rice and some steamed brocolli!
    Feel free to reserve the marinade for another batch at a later time - just be sure to freeze it.

    Chinese chicken soya sauce requires long process to cook in normal pan. With instant pot way easier and yummy. Thanks Andrea.

    • @AndreaCooksatHome
      @AndreaCooksatHome  3 года назад

      Yes, the instant pot process is very easy! It comes out better, in my view too, because it’s so tender and juicy despite being so low maintenance!

    Wow with instant pot it only took 8 mins. This is another thing on my list to buy. I love your quick and easy recipes! Especially With a 15 month old baby I would love to spend less time in the kitchen, Thanks for sharing ❤️

    • @AndreaCooksatHome
      @AndreaCooksatHome  3 года назад +1

      Yea, 8 mins cooking time, plus a bit of time to build pressure and some time to release! But it beats hovering over the stovetop making it some of the other ways! All our recipes pretty much are baby friendly, though you may need to cut up the food to make it a bit easier to chew/digest for the little one. Our 22 month old has tested everything on this channel I am pretty sure except for the Laksa.

    Love this recipe! I think the beauty of it is you can add whatever you like as long as there's 7 tbsp of soy sauce and a pile of chicken in there (in the end, it's about half a cup of soy sauce + whatever juice is in the chicken). So simple, I will be making this all the time!

    Hi. In the video, you said to use 6T soy sauce & 6T brown sugar for the marinade but in the instruction/descriltion you wrote 3T soy sauce ( and listed 6T of soy sauce under the marinade ingredients) & 3T brown sugar. Should I go with the written or the the spoken amounts. thx. can't wait to try.

    • @AndreaCooksatHome

    I just discovered your channel through your sticky rice recipe in the instant pot, and after watching immediately subscribed to your channel. I have a question about this recipe. Did you dry sauté the garlic, ginger, star anise or did you add some neutral oil before the sauté? Thanks, and I’m looking forward to making this!

    • @AndreaCooksatHome
      @AndreaCooksatHome  3 года назад +1

      We haven’t tested that one yet, though we have tested it in the Itaki Pro. It would probably be around 35 minutes or so, but we’ll have to test still :). In the future we may insert alternate text instructions directly in the regular (non-Itaki) videos for additional value for the Itaki subs! But trying to see what works.

    • @KoriandrOfTheStars
      @KoriandrOfTheStars 3 года назад

      @@AndreaCooksatHome Would you recommend cooking the wings for that long on the higher setting of the Shabuki pot, or the low? I'm going to make these tomorrow but I don't want to burn my wings 💀💀💀. It get so hot so FAST 🤣

    • @AndreaCooksatHome
      @AndreaCooksatHome  3 года назад

      @@KoriandrOfTheStars The instant pot way makes the meat so tender, it’s good in the itaki pro but not quite as soft. I haven’t tried the Shabuki yet but I would definitely use the low heat setting - the pot heats up fast then stays hot! But there should be enough liquid in the pot that it won’t burn, it would be just tough if overcooked.
