Yea this is not only the worst but most bizarre in the series. Like u said cringe and over the top sums it up perfectly. A few impressive moments but maaaaaan, I just can't. And that whole thing with the newborn ( also how easily it kills the queen) and what happened to it...Really disturbed me, even to this day.
I own all the Alien movies but when I rewatch them, I usually stop after Alien 3. I have seen Alien: Resurrection, though not as much for obvious reasons. I remember watching an interview of Winona Rider way back in the day and she was praising the cutting edge technology (from that time) as they used it to make the xenomorph swim during the under water scenes.
Couple of really good scenes like the underwater one and when the aliens break out of the lab. In two minds about the ending. Unfortunately they picked the wrong director and scriptwriter as well. The effects were good as you would expect. Ryder and Weaver tried to give the film some emotional wallop but they struggled with the material. Thought the third film was much better.
I hate Alien 3 so much.... Imnsho Resurrection is better. Also, Joss Whedon's actual screenplay and vision would probably have been a lot better. The studio changed it a lot.

Resurrection is kinda not great, but imnsho it's much better than Alien 3. Alien 3 is almost unwatchable. At least Resurrection is amusing. It has way better dialogue than any of the new prequels. I said what I said. What I don't think you get is that the "cringey" dialogue is SUPPOSED to be like that. It's camp. The whole movie is campy. Whether it pulls it off well and whether camp is appropriate for an Alien movie is a different discussion.😂
@@PaulRGauthier I’d take Alien 3 over this any day. And I totally get camp. I’ve celebrated many films that nail camp. This film didn’t, which is why it’s cringey and unenjoyable. Funny enough, I like the hybrid at the end of this film more than most things in this movie.

there was a time in my life when I couldn't get enough alien.
