After a year of watching Yammie noob I’m proud to announce I followed through and joined the ranks of subscribers that actually own a bike !!! I’m so happy with it for a first bike and doing my training next week :), it’s a little Honda CB125F 2017 but reliable and gotta learn to walk before I run ! If I didn’t get into this cool community don’t know who I would have been today .
I purchased a 2023 Speed Triple 1200 RS in Baja Orange last Wednesday and couldn't be happier. I test road both the Street Triple RS and the Speed Triple and the '23 Speedy, although heavier, does handle similarly to the street except it does feel a little more planted at highway speeds. It also has noticeably more grunt. This particular Speed Triple is on rails; the extra weight and slightly more aggressive ergonomics make for a very confident ride. The brakes are painfully flawless - a thing of beauty (on both bikes). and previous complaints about the clutch lever wiggling around and the inability to find neutral have been worked out (At least I, personally, don't have an issue finding neutral). The display every now and again is a little slow, but not even close to being a deal breaker. Every angle of the bike looks the business, it's a very premium feeling motorcycle (as opposed to the S1000RR I looked at that was just draped in cheap plastic all over). The only gripe I have after 200 miles of riding is for Triumph's decision to not have auto-cancelling turn indicators (even my HD Sportster 48 has auto-cancelling turn signals). Cruise control is a godsend and the seat is very comfortable and can see myself in the saddle all day without a problem. I'm 5'6 on a good day and tippy-toe the motorcycle so I lean to one side to get my right foot well planted at stoplights (29" inseam). At 145 lbs. the suspension is firm (I need to adjust for my weight at some point), but not uncomfortable in any way. In short, is the Street Triple RS a fantastic bike? Yes. Is the Speed Triple RS a fantastic bike? Yes. Which bike is better for you? I personally will never turn down more HP and that Baja Orange has me turning back to look at my bike every time I park it. My only other gripe is after an hour or so of riding it takes about 5-10 minutes before my Englishman accent fades back to my unapologetically American one.
How much heavier is the clutch on the speed compared to the street? Also, did the fueling seem linear or was the on/off still present at lower speeds. Cheers 👍
The exhaust isn't designed to be changed, Triumph claim even a full exhaust change won't improve performance one iota as it's been designed by the engineers as a maximum performance exhaust system.
That 437 lb weight is impressive. Like 30 lbs lighter than an mt-10 or superduke. Edit: I think the 2021 super duke lost some weight but the triumph is still lighter.

The larger displacement has now become a common technique for OEMs to comply with the Euro5 emission standards without having to forgo on power output. Way out of my price range, but what a machine. 180 horses from a triple ? Crazy numbers that make the truly lunatic MT10 look sluggish. You bought one yet ?!
Hi, thanks for the great review. I was waiting for that since Triumph released the official video last Tuesday. I’m the happy owner of a 2020 Street RS and I’m already tempted to switch for this one. Besides, I’m 175 cm and just comfortable with the 825 cm height. Do you think the 5 additional cm would change the bike’s handling? Ride safe and cheers from Paris 👍
I think I'd like it more with some sort of fairing, ... even a partial since the headlights don't look great, ... although a lot of bikes are like that now. Kind of the Decepticon Transformer look. On another note it looks like Suzuki is going to be revealing a new Hayabusa on February 5th, and I'm anxious to get your take on that once we know more. Would love to see you pick one up as a test bike and hear comparisons of your first gen vs a third gen.
@@tcrmn I totally understand what a naked bike is since I started riding before fairings were the norm. Just saying they could have made it look better even with a tiny quarter fairing to house those headlights. 😎
I don't know whether to be happy or sad ! I bought a 2020 Speed Triple RS, so it's about 10Kg (22 lbs) heavier than the new 2021 one, has 30 BHP less, but they were on a good deal , so around £3000 ($4100) cheaper than the new one . The 2020 is still quicker than I ever want to go , the slowest component on the bike is ME ! (So I should be happy) I do prefer the high level exhaust look on the 2020 one, yeah mass centralisation, but hey ho.
I watched the press release for this bike on 44Teeth YT chanel and I have to say it sounds incredible even with the stock cans on it. Realistically I won't be getting this any time soon as I'm only 2 years in to riding! Got my eyes on the Speed Twin later this year. I agree with Yam, I think the bike looks baddass. I think inactually prefer it to any other hyper, looks wise, apart from the Tuono. But that bike is another £13k on top.
How’s it compare to the Ducati v2? Price close? I need a “sport” bike and I liked my 675 street triple. Although it’s not really a sport bike; the speed triple might be kinda cool.

Way out of my price range, but what a machine. 180 horses from a triple ? Crazy numbers that make the truly lunatic MT10 look sluggish. You bought one yet ?!
Best bike I have ever owned
Triples are like V4’s with torque and high revving plus more character. Easier to work on vs a V4.
I'll take something simple with less power over something complex with note power. But something pretty simple yet very powerful? Sold.
This bike has more Horsepower than all the cars i own
Cars i own - None
I think I'd like it more with some sort of fairing, ... even a partial since the headlights don't look great, ... although a lot of bikes are like that now. Kind of the Decepticon Transformer look.
On another note it looks like Suzuki is going to be revealing a new Hayabusa on February 5th, and I'm anxious to get your take on that once we know more. Would love to see you pick one up as a test bike and hear comparisons of your first gen vs a third gen.
It's a naked bike, no fairings is the whole point
@@tcrmn I totally understand what a naked bike is since I started riding before fairings were the norm. Just saying they could have made it look better even with a tiny quarter fairing to house those headlights. 😎
Best looking bike ever
It’s a Street Triple on steroids. Have a deposit on a 2022. Did a test ride and really love how it performs (compared to my 2020 Speed Twin 1200).
(So I should be happy)
I do prefer the high level exhaust look on the 2020 one, yeah mass centralisation, but hey ho.
You should definitely get one!
$19k! Sheesh. Maybe I will get the Ducati.
A titanium exhaust weighs under 2 kg. Is it worth killing the looks just to move the centre of gravity down a couple of millimetres? Not in my opinion.
Nice bike but the triple cylinders brings a lot of vibrations to the driver hands. Had a Street Triple 765 GS and let it go for this reason.
MR YAMMIE SENPAI, can you do a video on short people riding sportbikes, im 5.5ft tall and id love to fit on a litre bike, but im scared i just might not reach the floor. pls do some video insites
On a sport bike it's better to be short than tall don't worry, Marquez himself isn't very tall
I’m going to get you to say it. Say it! Ducati Street Fight V4S! Ride it!
Yea I say buy one and send it my way,,,,thanks in adavance,,,,,,,nice video.
Now Noob got his love
I'm just happy with my 09 street triple r nooner machine
Speed Twin doesn't come with ohlins, but I forgive you yams. I can't wait till you get one of these bikes 🤘
They could have not made it look like bug eyes
Can you upgrade the quick shifter? I have a 2020 street RS. I’m not over the moon about it, it works well, could work better.
Lot's....Of...Love...From...Nepal......
In late 2021/early 2022 you should do a Trident for the Beginner bike, a Street Triple for the Intermediate bike, A Speed Triple for the Expert Bike, A Bonneville 120 for the Modern classic. The add just for that giveaway A Tiger 850 Sport for an Adventure Bike giveaway and a Rocket 3 for a Muscle Bike giveaway!
Sidenote: while the new speed triple makes 15 more hp than the rocket 3, it also makes about 70 ft/lbs less torque. But it also weighs a lot more soo...idk. fast comfy vs. Fast sporty.
Rocket 3 is a very uninspiring bike. Doesn't ride like you'd expect. Boring as shit!
Superduke still beats it in torque by over 10lbs ...shudda went ahead and gave it 10 more HP to offset 👍
I guess the speed wins on power to weight though, as it's 198kg wet Vs 198kg dry for the duke (around 210kg wet).
@@lordgibbness
10lbs wet VS 10lbs torque👍...heck of a predicament 👍
@@willraven7 well 22lbs weight :D but I get your point :)
The torque to weight ratio is slightly in the KTMs favour so it'll probably feel like a faster bike at lower rpms (sub-6k), above that the triumph will probably feel faster - but both very very similar. At least with the Speed Triple you don't need to pay extra for all the performance packs I guess.
@@lordgibbness
Amen to that brother (on the extra for tech packs) ...It's BS to do customers like that.
Luckily I got the dealer to throw them in on my Superadventure!
Like the look of the Trident better. When are you getting one?
I think Pappa Y had already decided to purchase one before its release !
Riding a SDR now, just made a deposit for the Speed Triple
I look at it from the front and all I see is Zorak from Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
i like that it has no undertail exhaust, i don't really like them
Dual disc headlight? And the ORIGINAL Speed Triple did NOT have underseat exhausts. In fact, the first THREE Generations had regular side mounted exhausts
Btw I would love to see the new speed triple vurses the kawasaki mach 4 h2 as far as hi power triples go.
We all want to see the bananas 1290 Super Duke R vs Speed Triple RS compare video asap!!
Would this be a good choice for driving within the speed limit on planet earth?
ZH2 Vs. Speed Triple 1200 comparison videos would be entertaining
Love the vid
My dude, you're bringing good content to us, the riders, but since you have squids watching overseas, it would be super amazing, if you add a metric system beside imperial.
When I see that this bike weighs 437LB I can't have it in perspective as in how much is it
Round headlights🤙🔥like on the new. Rocket3
damn i love you yammie noob, you're like that big brother or father that teaches me how to fix my bike and knows like everything about it, i never had, huge fan man, keep that good stuff up and ride safe ❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻 but all I really know is how to break bikes and ride them poorly lmao
@@yammienoob I know it’s hard to reply to everyone especially since you have the discord but if you could help me out it would be much appreciated. I have been riding for 4 years, first bike was a gsxr600 currently bikeless but looking to either the street triple rs or tuono v4 yes street over speed or tuono, don’t know if I want middleweight or hyper naked, I live in rural America with pretty much nothing but curvy roads
@@yammienoob same, crashed my bike (gsxr 125 because a1 euro bro but I'm doing a2 now) 2 weeks after buying (damn target fixation)
NEW BUSA THIS FRIDAY
There is a more powerful 3 cylinder (268 HP), but it’s not available in the US. However, it’s also not in a motorcycle. The Toyota GR Yaris.
Great Video! Definitely would be an awesome expert bike giveaway. Thanks papa yam!
