- As a Subaru WRX owner, I struggled as many others did between buying the Tomei or Invidia N1 catback exhaust, we NEED an option in between that hits not too bad of drone but also showing the rowdy characteristics of the EJ motor we all love the sound of!

Exhaust is entirely preference and is one of the main ways to customise your car to make it sound the way you like it. And I believe the sound and time of your exhaust is one of the Very most important aspects of a performance car.
I personally didn’t think it sounded great, and actually prefer an off the shelf invidia n1 race single 3” which is why I’ve got one on order from MAP for my ‘21 STi. But people do far far stupider crap to their cars then get this exhaust. So go hate elsewhere. You also sound like you’re projecting pretty hard.
This is the literal definition of CUSTOM EXHAUST. He got his exhaust completely done by a exhaust manufacturer. Blows my mind

My cousin use to work at Magnaflow and he told me they did everything Cam wanted and asked for. But when it came to the business side of things Cam felt that he should of gotten some percentage of royalties or profit distribution once his idea hit the market. Magnaflow on the other hand felt like they went above and beyond by letting him come into their shop and design a custom exhaust using all their resources and staff which obviously cost a nice chuck of change. So long story short they aren't seeing eye to eye to say the least. At the end of the day it's business nothing personal. Kinda like a rapper signing away his masters or publishing for a little advance because he doesn't understand the paperwork basically.
This often happens when big business deals with their talent.
Then, a contract should have been drafter, agreed on, and signed. Hand shakes don't always cut it. It is nice what Camren did and MF opened their doors to him. However, business is business and Carmen didn't go far enough on his end.
Royalties?!? How much money did he make off of this video? Also he was able design his own exhaust with them and I doubt they got anything from the money he made off of them (other than the advertisement). I feel like bro is trippin for that. If what you say is true, this is the first I've heard of that.
did cam pay the hourly rate the engineers n the insalers spent on his car ? did he also pay for the use of the workshop .he is being greedy imho n owes magna flow an apoligy .to me it sounds shit n ive been an exhaust tech in australia for 40 years but its my opinion .

Being an electro-mechanical engineer, this place looks amazing. Cameron great job filming and having the ability to get to a main manufacturer like MF, work with their engineers and have them build an exhaust with you right there. That's very inspiring

Why the ST and not the RS?
I've been watching this man since his MS3 days. Thats what got me into his channel and years later i got rid of my MS3 and got a wrx i think it was about the same time he got his STI. But no i was not following his every car move just happen to have the same decision so i kept watching 😂
I haven't owned a Subaru STi in 4 years, but everything you said about searching for an exhaust is EXACTLY what I went through. This sounds AMAZING. I'm ready to rejoin the Sti world when this becomes available.... seriously. Amazing job. New subscriber.

Wasn't a believer about WRX's till I witnessed a street race 23ish years ago and the WRX beat a Vette by 3 car lengths. It had turbos of course but still.
I'm still a Camaro/Vette guy but mad respect to WRX owners. Its a great car.

I've had a Tomei in my sti since August, every drive is a dream. So happy I upgraded.

It's crazy to see how your content has popped off lately. I've been watching since the speed 3 because I had one as well. Recently someone hit me and totaled my speed 3, but I'm ready to bounce back and make the best of things and hopefully pick up a wrx/sti. Hard work pays off for sure, it's great to see you build a positive place for us all to learn and have fun.
Just had my exhaust redone. Had to have all the piping replaced and I had Magnaflow cat, resonator and mufflers installed. What a huge difference in power and sound. So much smoother now and power didn’t drop. Also power delivery seemed to improve as well. Loved the video

I use to have a brz and I love that thing I would take it to the tail of the dragon all of the time and had a blast with that thing unfortunately a burning truck hit my car and burned both of them and my sisters car to the ground. So I was in the car buying scene for a little bit and I would always see wrxs and stis and think how cool they were on the road ,so I went to a dealer that had a 2012 wrx and test drove it and instantly fell in love with. I’ve had it for a couple months now and have been saving to do my first mod and have been looking for exhausts because it would liven it up so much and instantly enjoyable mod. Don’t have the funds yet. One of my friends just got back from being stationed and him and others from my group got together and did a cruse of the parkway. I just love the bond we can all have about cars and how they can bring us together.

Cameron OMG your emotion gives me chills, I have struggled with the same issues regarding the droning decibels of HWY cruising yet being heavily addicted to the throbbing notes that the Subaru is famous for , it's such a fine line between the two so much so, on my third WRX I have put off the purchase of the exhaust system for a year now for fear of loosing the drivability & the enjoyment not only myself but the family enjoy.
Like you on my second WRX I customised the design with a dual chamber system to modify the resonance & back pressure to elevate the drone & it worked quite well but you have taken it to another level my friend your journey was amazing & I congatulate you on your attention to detail persistence it certainly paid dividends well done!

I have tried many different exhaust setups, I found the single exit exhaust has the least droning inside the cabin .I was never able to find one single exit exhaust for my STi with a Helmholtz chamber until now!
You need a minimum of 15in resonator, to cut most of the drone. Usually in the middle of the exhaust. While still keeping exhaust note. It's what I had to do being catless

Your focus st build series had me hooked when I built mine, as she got into higher mileage I decided to part ways and got lucky in finding a pearly white 15 Sti. Once this magnaflow version exhaust comes out, I’ll jump on it 100%. Thanks for all you do for us car guys Cam!

except you shouldnt even put exhaust on it right away. Start off with an engine management computer like cobb accessport, then a wideband afr sensor, egt sensor, then right into an alchohol injection system. After that go for intake, and exhaust, oil catch can, boost increase, timing increase (better for alcohol injection.) and of course get it tuned. Should be at like 370-401hp without going crazy on forged internals, big intercooler, and bigger turbo. Oh and fuel system.

It should bolt up to the 11-14 sedans. There are exhausts out there that fit 11-14 and 15-20 out there, I'd assume this one would be the same.

My best experience was going downtown in my friends focus and I was only a little into cars and as soon as we pulled up is was like I was in a dream like that one seen from cars were everyone was cruising and it made me feel so great. I go there every Friday and Saturday night and it never gets old. I have a 2006 Wrx Sti and I love it Right know the clutch Is broke so it will be fixed soon. I can tell you have worked super hard on this video and you progression on this platform inspires me to want to star making videos like this so thank you so much Keep it up bro.

Its a shame the STI content has totally disappeared from his channel... there is virtually no information out there on this exhaust. I'm DYING to hear a driving video with this exhaust.
I installed a MF muffler on my Forester a couple years ago. Seeing how your also had drone in the beginning, it makes me think about addressing it again.
this is one of the best car videos I've seen by a content creator probably ever. Ever since I got my 2019 wrx I've been wanting to start making modifications and mainly just exhaust. Since I didn't buy the car my parents said I can't do anything to the car until warranty is off which is at 36k and I'm at 30k and i could be more exited. Great job on the vid Cameron!

Personally, i think it sounds super stock, Like what the sti should come with. really really nice, hard to compare volume, but i can imagine it i think. it reminds me a bit of my TXS turbo back too if im honest.

Yeah I’ll agree tomei is the best sounding for sure but not for what I do and how I daily my sti id be happy with that middle ground for an exhaust set up like Cam and magnaflow have created.

Josh Jordan I hear ya, to each their own. I wanted a tomei initially but they where out of stock when I ordered so I got the cat back awe tuning track edition and it sounds amazing. Been digging the single exit look and something different than the norm plus the mag looks clean af is the the only reason I’d change my set up.

Honestly tomie isn’t obnoxious loud with oem down pipe, it’s perfect. We just installed on 2020 sti the other day plus all titanium and good welds

First of all FANTASTIC video man. Great content, and I watched the full 30 minutes. I was so relieved to see it say not finished yet, and I'm glad you ended up with a tone you wanted. I think the end result sounds really nice, and miles different from the their first attempt. To me, it just seems like a ton of effort to get to the level of sound and tone quality that already exists on a different option you didn't mention. This sound tone and quality sounds ALMOST like the dual exhaust Borla. On my first 2017 STI, I had a Nameless set up and loved it, but like you I wanted something that was deep and aggressive when I wanted it, but less drone and tame when taking it easy. I went with Borla on my new build and it is in my mind the PERFECT balance of high end quality sound. It has a rich deep tone that is almost on par with what you would come to expect from a V8. At the end of the day we all search for the sound that's right for us, but just wanted to take the time to share another option with the community that gets slept on.
This setup sounds ok. I never like Magnaflow on anything, not my sound, too muffled. Everyone sleeping on Nameless, to me, it sounds a lot better than this.
