If you're having issues with darker images you can always set the ISO to a slower speed and develop your film at box speed to get a lighter image, it also has exposure compensation to help with that. Focusing issues can be solved by looking at the display on the right side of the viewfinder to see what distance you're focus is at. Hope this helps.
99% of the time, focus issues with auto-focus cameras, including this one, are problems with the user, not the camera. Many folks today are spoiled by wide area, contrast ranging, autofocus systems in later 35mm SLRs and digital; cameras This camera uses an earlier system which projects an infrared beam to the subject and determines distance by reading the reflection of that beam. The older system is more accurate at closer distances, where exact focus is harder to achieve. However, that system is rigid: it focuses on where you point the camera focus patch, usually dead center in the view finder. Use requires thinking about that you are doing. At long subject distances, the subject gets too far away to reflect a useful beam to the camera, so the camera sets focus based on aperture (exposure setting) and depth of field. The last model in this line-up, the GS645Zi uses both systems: active beam ranging close to intermediate distances, then shifts to contrast discrimination to focus longer distances. A few of other cameras do this as well, such as the Contax T3.
I have the same camera and the only "con" I agree with is the missing focus, all the other "cons" you knew have known before you got, well at least I did. Thumbs up!
same :( ive had mine for about a year and I think its time to move on. i love it but the missed focus gets to me so mad. so many wasted photos because it randomly decides to focus on some random back object and miss the entire subject in front. sigh...
Yeah the prices are astronomical now, about a year ago I got mine for like $700 which was crazy and a couple months ago I got my second one for about 1100 - I wouldn’t call it affordable anymore but for the quality and for being pretty much the only one of its kind anything under 1500 at this point is “affordable” whatever that even means 😂
I appreciate that & the support! I get my cameras USUALLY from International sellers via eBay (after tonsss of research) and rarely I use Facebook marketplace
Jo bro great video , i wanted to ask in what mode u shot with the flash? Iam currently testing it and I got some issues with the shutterspeed being to low when I want to flash
Preciate it bro, and personally I shoot in “A”, aperture priority the whole time, that way everything else is adjusted for me and I just have to change my aperture. I don’t own a light meter so I had to go with my gut but I stuck to A mode
Hey, have you had issues with loading film? I recently just got this and whenever I load film, it doesn’t rewind when I close the back. So when I go to look at the screen it still says 0, as though there’s no film inside! Lol, it’s very annoying. Just hoping there’s someone that has had a similar issue. Thanks
Hi Safia, thank you so much for the kind words! Also I have not experienced this issue, I would maybe try reloading the battery or maybe looking for a manual online to see if you can do some sort of reset? I know sometimes the digital screen on these cameras can be real "figgitty and annoying so sometimes the screen and the actual camera aren't on the same page (a.k.a it may actually be working but the screen isn't updating)? I hope one of these suggestions work, if not please let me know how this plays out! Thank you again for your support
