Some old friends are too harsh. Too rough for me.Texans are too loud.
I prefer kind voices like Darren here. I like to find softer people. Thank you.

People talk of smear campaigns, but noone mentions what to do other than "grin and bear it". Hard to do when most of family have been turned away. Esp. when children are involved!

The way around that tactic is actually simple. The narc says bad things about you to others. But... The people the narc says them to don't understand why the narc is doing it and it makes the narc look bad, not you. The narc is trying to fool you and hopes you don't know they're actually smearing themselves.
Anyone who thinks less of you after a narc has publicly smeared isn't a good person. A good person would dislike the narc, not you.
The narc wants you to forget that other people have minds of their own and get to make their own choices. The narc wants you to believe the only person with a mind is them. Don't be fooled. It's an act. You're never in any danger of losing anything good by being smeared. You'd only lose the bad. It actually helps you.

Darren, have you ever read Marc Brackett’s book Permission to Feel ?
I read it several years ago and was so inspired by it that made a “mood meter” (a large, labelled quadratic chart) it’s posted on the wall above the kitchen sink. My (ASD) teenage son and I “check in” with our moods periodically every day (almost every time we’re both standing in the kitchen at the same time) ☺️👍

I agree that support groups are designed and recommended by therapists or professionals after individuals have gone through therapy and made progress in managing their initial problems, as well as achieving their short- and long-term therapy goals. Support groups can also be beneficial when individuals from dysfunctional families lack connections at home, providing an outlet to feel connected. It’s important to understand that social, focus, and therapeutic groups differ in terms of goals, procedures, and time frames. And yest, educating one self and daily reflection can help ground us from being influenced by negative dysfunctional people. Good luck finding uplifting social groups that can help us grow healthier!

Hello 👋 do you have any information about narcissism mixed with delusional jealousy disorder? I've just recently found my way out of hell with someone who had this & I'm trying to wrap my mind around this all
