I told my godkids, "Sometimes I really worry about my short term memory. But, not for very long!"

If you're having short-term memory problems, that's DIRECTLY related to a lack of vitamin B12, and it goes downhill from there-- it can actually do so much nerve sheath damage that there's a point of no return, which causes irreversible neuropathy! This is deadly, as it affects swallowing. So don't wait around, get at least 1,000 mcg of methyl B12 specifically and get busy taking it every day. The other name for it is methylcobalamin. If it doesn't SAY methyl B12 or methylcobalamin, it's not. There are melty lozenges and there are capsules. If there's other methylated B vitamins included in the formula, like P-5-P, Benfotiamine, and folinic acid or L5-methyltetra- hydrofolate, that's even better. This diagnosis is NOT alzheimer's, but a low B12 dementia. B12 is necessary for making energy in the body, so it will negatively affect your heart, slowing it down. My dad had this as a genetic mutation which runs in our family, but he unknowingly made it much worse by popping OTC drugs like Rolaids. A lot of seniors suffer from dementia because of various digestive ills which hinder their ability to break B12 out of food (meat), as it is a large molecule. NEVER take a proton pump inhibitor, as it will create this adverse situation by reducing your stomach acid! However, stopping that kind of medication will NOT reverse the problem. What is going on in the so-called medical community when GI problems are "treated" is not just sad, but criminal!

“When we react, they have control but whenever we respond, we have control.” The way you say this really sticks in my mind and makes sense to me. I appreciate your simple nuggets of truth. I like the way you show kindness and understanding.

Good questions. Some of them flat out trigger me here and now. How do I respond to criticism was the hottest.
But Like one person said, it depends. Two huge things affect most of my responses. One of course is the cumulative result of therapy. Another is , hallelujah hallelujah and again, retirement. Not being endlessly hammered with all those many things. Being ABLE to simply leave, physically exit, stressful, gratuitous unkind, uncalled for behavior by others. Amazing. Wonderful. Of course one has to be old, but it's SO much better in so many ways.
But what does trigger me still, quite effectively, is criticism. Lordy.

These questions go to self-confidence, assertiveness, self-reflection, humility. I do criticize myself way too much and don’t believe compliments, but I also stand up for myself in many circumstances. In family matters, I tend to go with the flow (except with the Ns). But not sure what you are getting at? You want us to understand ourselves better, I assume and what triggers us. Go easier on ourselves? Face our problems with more clarity? Understand where our feelings originated, and are they valid?

I got halfway through Patricia and I felt like I needed to drag myself up off the ground and start fighting for myself so I see what you mean ..tearing us down for a purpose ??.. but we don’t have to agree with all the parts ..but yeah it was very interesting for me ..I think it’s to understand our motivations.. I am very conflict avoidant and I think it’s the physical positioning of somebody across from me .I don’t know what it is ..I think I’m afraid somebody is gonna hit me, even in a verbal argument. I know my value and I don’t know why I continue to let people walk all over me ..I’ve gotten worse over the years

Thank you Darren, this video has been really useful. It's been a while since I took a look at my progress and these questions are helping me to recognise areas where I have definatly grown and still some that I need to continue working with. Sometimes it's only when you look back you can see how far you've climbed. 🖖😊❤

Wow.. number 2 released a torrent 😢I am so hard on myself and ashamed to say I let people walk all over me. On a positive note my years of journalling resulted in some self knowledge that deep inside me I know who I am and I know my strengths and I value myself but when it comes to the complex situation of somebody right in front of me I tend to shy away from conflict and go along with almost anything😢

Sorry, Darren-- "Can you allow yourself to fail?" really sounds to me like "Can you allow yourself to FEEL"? I feel like I love your accent sooo much, but sometimes I struggle with figuring out what you're saying.😐
On that note, I'd like to take a poll to find out how many of your female subscribers FEEL like they've become VERY fond of you... I admit, it's hard to see your handsome face every day and hear your lovely accent without being 'affected.'

I didn't notice until i was twelve years old that other girls did not always practice neurotic stoicism as a personal rite. I used to be quite masochistic. I still love to call myself names. I actually find it funny, especially when people get mad at me for doing it. Because they always end up in my past anyway because i never get to keep anyone or anything.
