I have watched all of your Ruckus videos, Colin. Thank you. I had a Ruckus years ago, along with a few other scooters. Loved them all, but my Ruckus was my favorite. I'm retired now, and I am going to get another Ruckus... I'm thinking even tomorrow. I live in a retirement town in AZ, and the top speed for most streets is 35mph... So it's perfect for my commutes around town. Thank you Colin for your videos. Please keep them coming. Respectfully, Steve
The Ruckus certainly has a fanatical following. I love the fat tires, off road friendly design, beefy construction, 100 MPG fuel economy, Honda reliability, and no need for property taxes, registration and insurance. The only mod Id want to do is make a custom fuel tank to fill that large space under the seat, in addition to the small fuel tank below. I hate stopping for 1.2 gallons of gas. It's crazy that a new Ruckus is $3000 and a three year old Ruckus is $2700.
Mine is called the "suckus".Im officially middle aged and way past caring about what other people think.FYI a ruckus is not a vehicle to attract women on.I think it's great if you don't want to ride the bus or bum a ride. Its fun to ride from point A to B.
I agree riding is much more fun than on a full size motorcycle or 4 wheeler. I think it's because the performance expectations are less. Nobody is expecting 0-60 at warp speed or plowing through a deep mud hole. It's just so much more relaxing. I found the same thing with watercraft. Traded my 125hp Mercury bass boat that would fly through the water for a 10hp john boat that now allows me to just cruise down the river at a much more comfortable speed and actually enjoy a full day on the water without feeling exhausted after all the fun is over.
I agree with you! Just got one in June and it's been awesome. 5 things I love, 114mpg, 37mph top speed, the military look, tires great on dirt/muddy roads, and Honda reliability. One pain for me was realizing I needed an M permit in MA in order to ride it. Not a big downfall, just thought I'd be able to just hop on and register it :)
Andy Benevides Glad you got registration figured out, I am still so glad that in Connecticut I can just jump on and ride without any paperwork or DMV days haha
The honda ruckus is slept on, I got a motorcycle but still want one. There super cheap and if ya just need a little around town vehicle its the most cheap and reliable vehicle you can get. The younger you are the better for this scooter
My Ruckus has about 5000 miles on it right now and I have never changed the fluid or had the light come on yet ever, I really wish I could help you but I have no idea on the cooling system, I post questions on Honda ruckus Facebook forums often and they’re pretty helpful, that is my only advice, good luck!
Its definitely not stock, its missing the bottom part of the floorboard that wraps around the frame. Airbox delete like you said needs carburetor jetting too. If it has that intake then I'm sure the variator and weights are changed too. Also here in NC if it does more than 30mph then it is a motorcycle, regardless of being 49cc. Some cops don't care and will ask you about it, others will give you tickets and have it towed if the registration isn't right, not to mention if you have a motorcycle endorsement either.
Lol that’s a bullshit lie like you might not need any modifications with the Japanese scooter but something like a The Taotao you going to Def most definitely need modifications because all the shit on there is dirt cheap it is dangerous you’re gonna need to spend a hell of a lot of money to get it to where it needs to be Japanese scooters already come with quality parts on it so that’s a no brainer I have a Taotao scooter so I know trust me when you get a Chinese school you just wanna replace everything because it’s just so poor and cheaply made and like ong 🤣👍
And you’re speaking for yourself because when it comes down to modifications like making your scooter particularly faster you will want your scooter faster depending on where you are where you are you don’t need your scooter that fast but everywhere in America doesn’t have speed ranging where you live at it’s like 45 or at least 50 on some normal roads not highways in Virginia where I’m from LOL so it’s even more dangerous just to ride on regular roads and remind you I drive a Taotao scooter 50cc The engine is way better than the Rockies that’s why people swap them and put it on the Rockies but they’re more slower out the crate didn’t recognize you have to put the big bore kit in them for them to surpass the ruckus The rocket is already at its full potential somewhat just out the crate
I got one 3 days ago and we’ve already put 100 miles on it.
Glad to hear you are loving it!

I’ve always loved the look of the ruckus.

We don’t need an M permit here? I thought it is just a “limited use” vehicle so all you need is a class D license.
@@mikeh1954 Yes, it is not a motorcycle as there is no clutch and it’s 49ccs.
Love see future video’s of you riding around town on your Ruckus. Awesome video’s on your channel.
That’s for the comment, I just got some go pro footage the other day for my next video, thanks again!
So cool. Thanks.

No modifications? The air box is off
Hello, thanks for your videos. Have you come across any issues with the temperature light coming on and how to address any over heating issues?
My Ruckus has about 5000 miles on it right now and I have never changed the fluid or had the light come on yet ever, I really wish I could help you but I have no idea on the cooling system, I post questions on Honda ruckus Facebook forums often and they’re pretty helpful, that is my only advice, good luck!
@@colinsview Thanks, we really like ours this issue just pops up from time to time then goes away for a while.
It's $15 for a 3-year sticker in Michigan for a moped or a scooter
Seems like a great deal, do you need a motorcycle license?
Great video great channel love Honda ruckus 👍
I'm planning to buy one for commuting to campus😃
Very cool! hope you have a great time!
The Ruckus is a FUN-US
Ok, I know this a a horrible joke, I will show myself out~
Easily the best purchase I’ve ever made…SO much fun…though I get no love from motorists
is it rain proof?
Is your Ruckus a 2011?
No modifications...where's the stock airbox?
where can i get one and how much do they cost?
cost 2199$
@@antonkrot8586 every new one i see at dealer is $2700 ish plus this and that in U.S.
'whats up guys", "hey guys" youtubes mandatory start.
I sold my Africa Twin but I'll never sell my Ruckus.
That ruckus is not stock, it's air box is deleted, with an air intake
And it's front signal lights have been dropped

Looks like you have a cold air intake
