It actually does. Education is needed to be successful, what you mean is Grades dont equal success (but they do help). All of the directors on this were already smart, most of the actors were educated in acting, or were related to actors.

I never went to university because I followed my dreams instead and it's paid off, I have a very successful career and I love what I do. Tyler Durden I agree with you, but graduating does not necessarily lead to having a boring life. I respect people who took risks in life to get a condition, but it doesn't mean they're better than the people who have graduated, and keep in mind sometimes it's the only chance those people had to make something out of their life, not everyone can afford drama or music lessons :) you can be perfectly happy with an office job, it all depends to the person. Problem is society told us we'll be rockstars, superstars or millionaires, that's why so many people feel dissapointed in life

it's a shame how 'education' determines whether you are successful in life. both of my parents only have high school diplomas and have managed to live an awesome/successful life and raise two kids. Back in the day, you'd be able to get away with not getting a high school or a college diploma, but now, you're looked at much differently compared to a person who did graduate.
True. It's really all about status today. Personally, I hated School. Sure I'm in University right now, I I seriously couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me. The degree to me is no different than the diploma I earned three years ago.
It's not a "shame" at all. Much of the workforce is increasingly involved in jobs that require a greater amount of education to perform. Specialization (i.e., becoming really good at, or really smart about, a particular subject or task) is what drives the advancement of society, from the stone age through a primarily agriculture-based lifestyle (and economy) to a technology-driven existence (working in conjunction with the still-existing agriculture) that provides all sorts of advanced benefits, from modern medicine to better forms of housing to easier forms of transportation, etc.

Employers treat GEDs and Diplomas the same way. I dropped out of high school because senior year is pointless. Got my GED, went to community college for 2 years and transferred to an Ivy League. I'm going to become a Heart Surgeon.
Medical schools also don't give a damn about high school. It's all about college. Just make sure you either have a diploma or GED. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

the easiest way to ensure that it happens is that you have schools. You also wouldnt have to cheat if u tried hard enough. Make notes in class and review them for the test. Shit is not hard or complicated, but you are being lazy.

As someone who is both 48 and Australian, I can tell you that not finishing high school was NOT considered an embarrassment outside the US when I was young. There were other avenues for advancement, including trade schools,apprenticeships, art school and starting as an office gopher and advancing up the ladder.,In those days,finishing Grade 12 was most frequently for those who wanted to go to university,which wasn't needed for a LOT of professions,even highly literate ones.. My dad left school at 14 to do a journalism cadetship.(He did get his BA(Hons) in his sixties!) My grandfather began his training as a student teacher at 14. My other granddad went into a carpentry apprentriceship and worked his way up to owning his own funeral home. Ita Buttrose, the most famous woman in Australian publishing, started work as a teagirl at 14 at her local paper. I very nearly left at 16 to go to art college, but changed my mind & did my BA as the culture was just starting to change. A friend of mine dropped out to go to secretarial college and runs her own business.I think it's a shame those avenues of alternative education are dying or often frowned upon. Not everyone is academically minded. A good electrician or plumber can earn a fortune & sometimes people just know what they want to do in life & for them those years in formal education are a waste of time. I wouldn't advise dropping out these days, as it does limit your choices, but I can tell you 30 yrs ago, it was a perfectly acceptable option to seek training or employment(or both!) elsewhere. It's a pity that really these days, you can't get a job in many fields like journalism or nursing without a piece of paper,when in days gone by, you learned on the job.

After moving with his single parent mom, Marshall Mathers moved back and forth from Missouri and Michigan, they eventually settled in Detroit. There, they moved a lot, he changed schools and was constantly bullied for being the new kid as well as being a small white kid.
At age 14, he was introduced to Hip-Hop by his Uncle and became obsessed with it. At age 17, Marshall dropped out of high school after repeating the 9th grade three times. He often competed in freestyle competitions to help break the barrier of being a white rapper. He also read the dictionary every night to improve his vocabulary and to tell which words rhymed with each other.
He did various jobs to get money to make enough to make songs with his friends, and later took more jobs when his daughter was born in 1995. In 1996, he released his first album, Infinite, to poor sales. Finished high school with a 3.7 GPA and I’ve been thinking about not going to Uni so i’m not going. I’m definitely just gonna pursue my acting career. and if I were you I wouldn’t dropout of high school. Trust me I had thoughts of dropping out in sophomore year. But I managed to pull through.

Schools are fundamentals, you or you may not able to use it because those lessons are sometimes based on the past experiences of others. And these people are up to making their own experiences that others may want to follow.
What should be stressed is that if these people were not incredibly talented, lucky or in one case, a royal princess, they'd be flipping burgers for minimum wage. Oh! Wait! There's a machine that does that now.

My advice to people who want to drop out of school, you should finish school and then you can go and pursue your dreams. you'll have less complications.
High school is important. You need to have bases. Cool to know some people are extremely talented or lucky and they happen to be millionaires now but it doesn´t happen to everyone who doesn´t finish high school. (not hating but I still don´t see whats so special about Giselle, I know she´s exotic, versatile and tall, but lots of models are..)

Just for the interest of anyone who isn't familiar with the British Education System, there are two sets of exams you need to pass to get a shot at going to university (college) - GCSEs (formerly O-levels) and A-levels.

Stay in school, if you know what's good for you! Fame and fortune are most likely not going to find you. They might, be it is doubtful.
I don't want to be a celebrity, per say, but I would like to be like Quentin Tarantino as far as being a professional filmmaker goes (if indeed I want to pursue that, for there are many other aspects of the industry as a whole that I can chase after. Voice acting is one I'm seriously considering).
