Thanks Master Sorastro, i dont know how you always makes your videos so insanely awesome. Thanks for pushing the whole legion community to paint better
What a great video mark! Even with such a limited palette for the base subjects you were able to give the models visual interest with just a few pops of color. Very instructional for me - thank you!
Amazing paintjob! Lately I've been lacking the motivation to paint but I have my magnaguards on the way and watching this video made me want to start painting as soon as they arrive! Thank you Sorastro for a top quality video as always!
Thanks so much for these awesome tutorials, they're SO FREAKING HELPFUL!! I just felt I should mention in the comments that I've been just using my basing medium to stick my guys on--it's just as good as glue, although it takes like, half an hour to set so your guys have to be able to stand on their own for it to work.
Your paintings are always satisfying to watch. Sometimes, i take a break watching this. I used to paint some Warhammer and SW legion for friends and your tutorial are so usefull. Thanks a lot for your work. (sorry for my broken English, I'm french😅)
Would love to see the Stap and tank done :D I love your videos thank you so much, i was browsing the magnaguards last couple of days so happy you reelased this video :D
oh wow they look amazing ! I've only just started collecting the 1st core set . The clone wars core set and new releases look amazing better models i believe !? I will certainly be moving onto the new models eventually. Thank you for all your tutorials . Camo tutorials were very helpful my Han Solo came out awesome . Still having trouble with source lighting from light sabres though lol 😆 stay awesome 🤘 😎 🤘
Outstanding work, these contrast paints are surely very good for droids/armoured figures, with only a pair of glazes you can gain a realistic look, now also The Army Painter is for launch their equivalent range
I am yet again inspired to paint tonight. Not these models yet, they will have to wait till next year haha. Thank you for your great video quality. The painted models look awsome
Thanks! I'm not sure if I'll be covering the Spider Droid but I am currently shooting a video for the Persuader-Class Tank Droid, and I think the colours and techniques I'm using will work great for the Spider Droid! :)
Awesome Series! I will be returning to the world of miniatures painting shortly (after payday :D ), I find the painting more therapeutic than the gaming side. This series has really helped me plan for taking on Star Wars Legion. I was wondering if you would be tackling either the imperial specialists, Death Troopers or the Shore Troopers soon?
Thanks a lot Adam! I've actually covered some additional Legion minis as PDF guides over on my website - including the Death Troopers and Shoretrooper: sorastro.com/?s=Death+trooper 🙂
I'm very new to the idea of wet blending. Can anyone explaining me the process of why he is applying different paints to parts of the cloaks and what paint should go on what part?
Excellent tutorial as usual can I just ask what matt spray your currently using as I see testors is difficult to get and if its an airbrush one do you thin it.
@@Sorastro I really look forward to it. Also if you don't get round to making pathfinders, would you consider painting rebels in a scarif theme from rogue one? :)
Awesome tutorial! Do you reckon the initial paint mix would work for B2 Battle Droids, or would changing the Apothecary White for Bascilicanum Grey suit more?
Love your painting guides! I was curious which grey you're using for the zenethal highlights on some of these guides? I've been unsuccessfully digging for the answer
Your tutorials are so inspiring. I started painting miniatures when I got heroquest back in the days and sadly stopped because nobody was interested in playing other miniature games with me. I then got into drawing but now I really want to get a nice miniature game and give it a go again. Can you perhaps give me some advice? My budget is kinda limited and I can spend roughly 80-100 bucks on colors and brushes. Would you recommend just going for a paintset of vallejo or army painter or just buy single colors? Since I lack experience I really dont know which colors I really want besides the obvious standards. Since my main hobby (and job) is drawing I will try to mix what I have learned in your tutorials so far and won't use wetshading on small miniatures and just try to learn to use washes perfectly...just because my time is also limited and I want to get done with painting the game in 1-2 months. :D Keep up the good work, as many already have stated you do an exellent job explaining every step with a very calming voice...I often just watch a tutorial of yours to relax a bit. It feels kinda like a zen zone when you come from a whole day of stressful speed sketching because of tight deadlines and stuff like that. ;)
Thanks a lot for the kind comment! I think Vallejo’s Basic Colors paint set is a nice place to start, although you might want to also pick up a cyan and a magenta to go with it (which can’t really be mixed with primaries). 😀
@@Sorastro ohhh! Very nice! I've been looking at DSLR Cameras, but would you rate the Lumix over it for video quality, ect? (I've started streaming painting on Twitch so just searching around for options, haha) Your videos are so clear, it's nice to see!
Well, the GH5 is a DSLR.. I've been using it for the last 4 years or so for both stills and video, and it's been great for my purposes. The main weakness of the camera is that the auto focus doesn't handle motion well, which is fine for how I usually shoot (fixed position), but if I wanted to film a battle report where I want to move the camera around a lot, I'd really want a Sony or something. 🙂
Nice video - as always ;-) Do some of you guys here have any alternate recommendations for "Anthracite Gray"? I've looked for this color but it seems as it is not existent anymore :D All I can find is "Anthartic Gray", but that is more gray than the blue-ish color used in the video.
Thanks Kevin! It's strange; it looks like they have indeed changed the "Anthracite Gray" to "Anthartic Gray" (a bit like when the changed "Autumn Green" to "Fall Green"), and they've kept the same product code (SC-04), yet in the pictures is does indeed look like a darker grey with less blue. In any case, if you have Dark Reaper from GW and add a little Celestra Grey you'll get very close to Anthracite Grey :)
Thanks Master Sorastro, i dont know how you always makes your videos so insanely awesome. Thanks for pushing the whole legion community to paint better
Thanks so much mate! I really do appreciate that 😁
Nice video! Can't wait to see a painting guide for the DSD1 dwarf spider droid and NR-99 persuader-class tank droid
Thanks so much! I've actually finished the next episode which covers the PC Tank Droid, and will release it as soon as I can 🙂
With new Sorastro videos I hit the like before I even full screen it. The blue paint technique on the leader looks so good!
Ha - thanks so much Andrew! :D

Thanks again! I'm glad you like 'em :)

Masterful as always, Mark!!! I liked the take of doing the blue paintjob of the metal after the main chipping step!! I was caught off-guard there!!

These guides have been amazing for me. Would like to see a shore trooper one.
Thank you Andras! I did make a PDF guide for the Shoretrooper a couple of years ago which might give you some ideas: sorastro.com/?s=Shoretrooper
Funfact you can use clonetrooper heads on magnaguards and vice versa.
Huh
how do you put the magnaguard head on a clone? I see how it works the other way around.

Thank you very much! Practice, and enjoy the journey.. 😀
The Return of the King
They look great 🤩
Thank you so much! :)
Fantastic video!
Would love to see some super battle droids in a non-metallic style! So many guides just go the leadbelcher + dry brush route!
Thanks a lot! NMM Battle Droids sounds pretty epic.. 😀

Absolutly amazing can wait to pick up my own and hopefully they look almost as good as yours

Amazing as usual!
It´s such a joy to watch your guides. And with every single video a learn a bit more.

atomic mass? did Fantasy Flight loose the rights and i didnt notice? i am confuse.
Hi! Yes - all the miniature-based games were moved over to Atomic Mass Games a while ago, leaving FFG to focus just on the board and card games :)
What’s the R&C brush you’re using for the details? (Not the RGG one) Is it a rigger?
Hey Matt! It's actually still just a Size 2 Series 8 but one that I've had (and abused!) for some time so it's thinned down quite a lot.. :)
