I honestly was really excited to see another Star Wars legion painting release! I’ve just got into collecting them and your videos helped me choose the paints to get etc, thanks for your help by showing all the paints you use etc. 🙂🙂
Ha, thanks a lot Jesse! I've been busy working on some Star Wars Shatterpoint videos (which I can't show yet), hence my not having posted in a while. Looking forward to sharing more in the coming months though.. 😀
This is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Just checked the channel for the first time in ages, and this immaculate painting turtorial of Moff Gideon, played by one of the greatest actors just went up. Amazing job as always.
Your videos usually start with a great tabletop paintjob, with steps that can be achieved with limited skill. On this one your really demonstrating your amazing skills with the brush. The result is impressive. Thank you for sharing!
@@Sorastro absolutely! And he‘d probably look quite monotone in 28mm scale, just black on black on black. Bringing out the different textures via these advanced techniques is a great tool aspiring painters can learn to use!
⭐️ your Star Wars Legion videos are always as inspirational as they are superbly presented - your choice of palette is excellent - thanks for sharing your skills ⭐️ 👍
Kind of off topic but...Any suggestions for someone who is getting back into the painting hobby after a long break and has developed a minor tremor in their dominate hand? Also so you know what I'll be painting, if it helps I will be attempting to paint Frostgrave cultist as my first foray back into the hobby.
Hi John! That's a good question. I don't have any tremors myself (not yet), but I imagine keeping your wrists resting on the work surface might help, and mounting the mini to something that can also rest on the work surface too.. 🙂
I was hoping you'd get around to SW again. Great work. How do you find working with Musou? Also isn't there a fluo white? That might be neat with the edge.
Thank you kindly! The Musou Black is a very interesting product; the finish is kind of powdery, and I think it's uses are somewhat limited, but this was a task it was really made for I think.. 😀
@@Sorastro The powdery finish has to be there as that breaks the light up so it doesn't reflect back to the observer. :) For a long time now I've been planning my Legion of the Damned army for WH40K. I have been looking at both Musou (fragile when handled) and Black 3.0 for the base black. Then bonefish dry brush and etc. The insanely dark black will give the models (no matter the model) this eerie feel. :) Just like on the sabre.
Hey buddy! Yeh, that's a real shame. I believe the Raphael 8404 brushes are very good (and available in the US) - although I've not tried them myself yet.. 🙂
Incredible as always Sorastro 👏🏻 I saw you mention that you had more star wars miniatures incoming? I wonder if you will be painting the "strike me down" box from the convention? I would love to see your take on that 👌🏼
Thank you so much! I certainly will be painting the "Strike Me Down" set at some point, but at the moment I'm focused on getting some Star Wars: Shatterpoint videos ready.. 😀
@@Sorastro awesome! I'm looking forward to the shatterpoint figures, be great to see your tutorials 😀 Please please please If you do paint strike me down can we get a tutorial video!? I will shelf my until then! Haha 😎👍🏻
I just recently found out this channel and I love it, both the painting style, the exposition, everything! I have just recently reapproached to painting miniatures after having done it a bit and with very limited means during my high school years (sadly, almost 20 years ago :( ). I have noticed you consistently use Scale Colors. From what I can see, I really love their finish, but people often state they don't cover well and are very hard to use. What's your opinion on this matter?
Thank you so much for the kind words! Regarding the Scalecolor paints, I also found them a bit odd at first, but I'm very comfortable with them now. I'm actually thinking of making a video on the topic.. 😀
Sorry household chores, sorry daily shower, sorry airplane model... Sorastro released a video so you'll all have to wait! Excellent as always. Still don't paint figures but one day...😬
Hey man! It might require a bit of back and forth; don't be afraid to go pretty bright for the brightest highlights, but keep them quite tightly focused. 🙂
It's all good, folks! I understand that everyone would prefer to see tutorials that use paints that match their own preferences, and I accepted long ago that I'm always going to disappoint someone by using whatever paints I choose, and I've made my peace with that. 😁
Excellent work on your part, par usual, but the sculpt on the mini, itself, screams but one thing: "The Darth Vader at home:" The detail on these SWL minis look great, but the silhouettes on the stuff I've seen are just wholly uninspired, which is kind of a shame, given the eye-wateringly high prices...
Whoever wins a challenge in combat against Sorastro wins this mini.
Ha ha 😄
Wow Gus fring miniature looks Amazing

Can I request a tutorial video for Cad Bane please?
Hi Payton! I actually produced a PDF guide for Cad Bane some time back; I just haven't gotten round to publishing it on the website yet.. 🙂
I've always been worried how to paint darker skin tones - but your breakdown is amazing! Thanks for the video
Thanks a lot Alexander! I'm glad you found the video useful 🙂

Love it bud fancy sending me your one. I cant get mine looking right 😅

All of your minis look fantastic, but I'm hoping you have plans for the cis at tank

Edit: I mean, as well 😁
Thanks a lot David! I do try to speak as clearly as possible :D

You could use whatever black you like really, but I'd personally favour something quite matte like the Scalecolor Black 😀
