Yeah that was great, the touch of blue added to the black tattoos really makes it pop, and the yellow tint in the core of the lightsaber warms that up nicely as well. Fantastic job!
Honestly, you make this look so easy that I was like, I’m gonna give this a go… how hard can it be… I’m pretty proud of how mine turned out but the eyes man… the eyes get me every time… thanks for the amazing paint guides!
Great to see you back. :) so many good legion models coming out, I hope to see them. I loved the different take on maul vs the episode one appearance. I feel like you were able to capture the animated version of the character while keeping him feeling detailed enough. Cheers!
Thank you! I actually published a PDF guide for Dooku some time back which you might find helpful: sorastro.com/2022/02/08/count-dooku-pdf-painting-guide/ 🙂
I love your work man I had a request for something rather pacific its the Geonosis desert camo on the clone troopers I would love to have some of my guys painted like that but I have no idea how to tackle it?
Hi Alejandro! I don't currently have any Legion videos planned for the immediate future, but will be covering plenty more minis with PDF guides (including Din Djarin) going forward.. 🙂
@@Sorastro that’s absolutely fine, I’ll gladly wait as I religiously use your painting vids to guide me. I have a back log of minis to do in the meantime. Thanks for the reply!
Thanks a lot! I have the B2s primed and ready actually. I'm not scheduled to produce a video for them but I'll probably cover them with a PDF guide at some point.. 😀
Hey there! Yeh, Maul is a tricky one for sure, but remember, he only needs to look good enough from arm's length for gaming purposes, so don't beat yourself up over the accuracy of the skin markings too much.. 😀
I dont understand how you can have such opaque layers while still making the paint flow so nicely. For my S75 to flow as nicely as yours I need to water it pretty intensely
Hi Christian! I won't be making a second video of Maul to include the darksaber, but it's very easy to paint; just use your most matte, black paint, then use white to paint the crackly edge 🙂
@@Sorastro That's fine , I'll use the tutorial here to paint the arm and then I'll paint the saber. One question , is it possible to follow this tutorials without using the same brand of paints?
Will you be doing any of the Star Wars Shatterpoint figures when it comes out in June? From what I hear they will be a slightly larger scale than Legion. I really hope you do, I look forward to seeing your work on those models.
I've been watching your vids for a long time on and off as I can. I noticed you use a lot of scale color paints now in addition to some citadel. Do you still utilize army painter?
Ha, Hi Stefan! I'm afraid I don't have plans to paint it any time soon - sorry! But if I did I'd probably take a similar approach to that used on my Persuader-Class Tank Droid (but with more brown tones in the Contrast Colours) :)
Hi! I'd paint it with the most matte black you have, then just add some super bright, crackly edge highlights with pure white or a very light ivory tone 😀
I love the way you achieve masterpieces with, seamingly, simple techniques, and without redundant proceses.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the kind feedback 🙂
Yeah that was great, the touch of blue added to the black tattoos really makes it pop, and the yellow tint in the core of the lightsaber warms that up nicely as well. Fantastic job!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like those little nuances of colour :)
Was looking up maul painting guides and Sorastro saves the day!
Good timing! 😁

Thanks Josh! Take some comfort in knowing that found his face quite tricky to paint too! 😁
Amazing work as always. I loved the blue tonal variation add and the new spin on painting the saber.
Thank you so much! I always enjoy trying new approaches to painting a lightsaber 😁
I live your tutorials. I can't wait to see you paint Din Djarin and Grogu
Thank you sir! :)

Looove your legion guides! Thank you.
Thank you kindly! 😀
Phenomenal lightsaber effect. Beautiful work as always!

Really such a great paint job!
Thank you very much! 😊

Ha - thanks Piotr! :)
You never fail to make utter perfection look simple lol
Ha, thank you! Making something look effortless is certainly not effortless.. 😄
I love this sculpt far more than the other one, excited for the video, thank you!
Thank you! I really like this sculpt too :D
Dear Sorastro, a very enjoyable & informative tutorial - thank you. Best Wishes Johnny
Thank you sir! I'm really glad you enjoyed the episode 🤗
Can't wait to see how you paint him when Shatterpoint comes out.
Thank you! The Shatterpoint minis really are something else.. 😀
Yo did a great job painting my favourite Star Wars character ❤
Awesome! Thank you so much 😊
Love your tutorials, and SWL! Very first one I ever saw was a WH40K Ork Boy, years ago. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much Nate! (I don't remember covering any Ork Boys though 😁)
@@Sorastro maybe I'm crazy, but at any rate. Been watching your videos for a long time. Cheers!
Thanks man! I do appreciate that 😀
Amazing!!!!! What´s next for ST Legion Mr Sorastro?? Thanks!!!!
Thank you! I'm honestly not sure yet.. :)
This was unreal my friend, fantastic job.

@@Sorastro true but vids are better to have in the background is all
Great work man, you should try with the republic commandos, they will be awesome!
Thanks a lot Mikee! I’d love to paint them one day 😀
I love your work man I had a request for something rather pacific its the Geonosis desert camo on the clone troopers I would love to have some of my guys painted like that but I have no idea how to tackle it?
Hello, you will continue with videos of Star Wars Legion, such as the mandalorian commands or Din DJarin
Hi Alejandro! I don't currently have any Legion videos planned for the immediate future, but will be covering plenty more minis with PDF guides (including Din Djarin) going forward.. 🙂
Beautiful work!😁👍🏽☢️
Thank you so much! ☺️
Can you do the Mandalorian commandos?
Hi! I'd like to if my schedule allows.. :)
Hey was curious if you’re gonna get round to doing the BX commando droids?
Hi Sharp! I'd love to paint the BXs one day, but I've got so much going on at the moment it might be some time before I get to them.. 😀
@@Sorastro that’s absolutely fine, I’ll gladly wait as I religiously use your painting vids to guide me. I have a back log of minis to do in the meantime. Thanks for the reply!
Amazing guide, can I ask if you plan to do one for B2 Super Battledroids?

@@Sorastro that would be amazing, thank you, I'm about to get them and can't wait to paint them!

Will you be doing a Rook Kast?
Hi Samuel! I'm honestly not sure if/when I'll get to them.. 🙂
Will you record a video of how to paint the winter guard, from Marvel CP??
Hi! I probably won't be making videos for them, but will be covering at just some of them with PDF guides (I've actually just painted Darkstar..) 🙂
@@Sorastro O, a pity that you haven't made videos of it, where can I get those PDFs?
I publish the PDFs to my website (after an "early-access" period on Patreon): sorastro.com/😀
I dont understand how you can have such opaque layers while still making the paint flow so nicely. For my S75 to flow as nicely as yours I need to water it pretty intensely
Hi! I find adding a little flow enhancer to the water you thin with really helps (I use the Daler Rowney stuff) 😀
Could you make one with him holding the darksaber?
Hi Christian! I won't be making a second video of Maul to include the darksaber, but it's very easy to paint; just use your most matte, black paint, then use white to paint the crackly edge 🙂

@@Sorastro That is awesome. Thank you for such a speedy reply as well.
No problem at all! 😀
Nice work! Which white do you use for zenithal effect?
Thank you! I believe I used a white ink (Daler Rowney) 😀
Fantastic work as always, how often are you able to get in a game?
I've been watching your vids for a long time on and off as I can. I noticed you use a lot of scale color paints now in addition to some citadel. Do you still utilize army painter?
Hi! No sir, I don't really use Army Painter paints. 🙂
@@Sorastro thank you! I was curious as I have a large range of AP that I enjoy using and was not sure if you did.
Would you ever do the wookiee flutter craft ? Asking for a mate ...

@@Sorastro awesome thanks will take a look 😀
Brilliant as per! A guide on your wet pallet would be appreciated!
What would you suggest for someone who chose the darksaber?
Hi! I'd paint it with the most matte black you have, then just add some super bright, crackly edge highlights with pure white or a very light ivory tone 😀
When you do the mixing on the pallet do you use a different bush to the one you paint the mini with to save the good brush?
Hi Andrew! I do not. 😁
A master at his craft! Question, will you be painting Din and Grogu when they are available?
Thanks a lot Corey! I'd love to cover Din & Grogu.. 😀
@@Sorastro i know they drop sometime next month. I pre-ordered. Hope you do, your videos are what’s helping me tremendously
@@Sorastro question will you go true Metallic (I think that is what it’s called) or use a metallic paint?
Hi! I'll probably go with some non-metallic metal effects 🙂
@@Sorastro ok. I’ll have to watch videos on that. Have zero idea how to do.
Cool vid.
Thanks man! 😀
thats amazing! But each video seems much harder to replicate. Feels like imposible for me
Thank you! Maul is quite an intricate mini to paint for sure, what with those tattoos.. 😬
The Broken Sith never looked as good as he does under the Maestro’s brush strokes.
Thanks so much - glad you like him ☺️
Bro the fact this was an hour ago I thought it was years ago cus he normally uses citidile
I think he's mainly went to scalecolor now
