It is only after breaking his ancient blood covenant with the Citadel overlords that Saint Duncan could share the arcane knowledge of the wet palette with mere mortals. "Never! You shall damn us all! You have no idea what you have dooone!" they shreiked. But Duncan was unafraid, undeterred, for his coats were thin. Some even said that this cataclysmic shift of power would be enough to force the malevolent Citadel barons to begin producing dropper bottles- But it was not to be, and the war in the heavens rages on.
"Zandri dust is a little bit too much on the dark side." You are a bold one. Only just found this channel as a new painter myself, absolutely love your content. Super helpful without going over the top on faff or jokes. Perfect balance.
Great video, Duncan! Appreciated. One minor thing I would like to point out that I feel like you guys could touch on, is when applying a glaze the directionality of your brush affects the paint. Glazes, as thin and watery as they are, deposit the majority of the paint where your brush leaves the model. So, for the white parts, paint it upwards rather than downwards to give the impression of light being brightest at the top. It's a small thing that really helps especially when doing a more pigment rich color like blue or red.
Thank you Duncan for the upload ! 🤘🏻 I’ve been following you for the past 6 years and you are the reason I got back into this fantastic hobby again ! Take care and cheers from Denmark 🇩🇰
I am SO GLAD to see you guys doing stuff from other games, especially Star Wars stuff! Warhammer painting gets a ton of great support on RUclips but a bunch of other also great games don't get anywhere near as much.
Lovely to see a Star Wars painting tuorial posted on May the 4TH, loved the meme puns and more importantly I'm glad to see that Duncan is well and healthy in this uncertain time! I extend the hope that everyone he knows and cares about is also well. My sympathies to anyone reading this who has suffered or lost a loved one recently.
Great to see the channel focusing on some more character-quality paintjobs. Not as instantly accessible as some of the rank and file tutorials, but great for those who want something a little more challenging. If anyone hasn't subscribed to Duncan's premium content I'd recommend they give it a shot. It's a lot cheaper than something like Mini Wagaming's vault and he posts several videos there for every one that ends up on youtube. His technique videos on applying transfers and painting late war German tanks has really helped me get my Market Garden Germans rolling again.
As someone who is prepping to paint up a Clone army, this has been exceptionally helpful, especially as it pertains to the armor. I love the technique you used there and it seems simple enough to use on a large army of clone troopers (before adding colored markings, of course).
No surprise that his tutorials are very good, but it’s nice to see him unchained from the warhammer video archetypes. He is able to go into more detail on techniques and explanations.
Great job as always, just watching these short tutorials are great to pick up a lot of different ideas and tips on how to improve even at a basic level of skills
Love the model and Legion, hoping to see more Star Wars stuff from you in the future. I'd especially be interested in seeing you tackle Darth Vader. Making black on black stand out would be challenge and I'd love to see how you yet again knock it out of the park.
Hello there! I painted that mini. I love legion and i love Obi Wan and the Clones. Wish this video came out before I got all my stuff but I did a pretty good job i think lol. Great work!
I've only ever used agrax so when Duncan started applying the strong tone on the robes I immediately said "oh... hello there". Made myself giggle a bit

He also used "the force" of the bristles and referred to the lightsaber as being looked at "from a certain point of view"!

Hihi
And the day the video was posted on.
He did the meme at the start
Dont have the model, have no intent of buying model
But damned if that didnt make me watch it all the way thru
There were more memes and star wars references during the video. Ionce wanted to buy the game to but at the moment im am overhelmed and frustrated with my backlog.
Only imperial storm troopers are so precise...
Can anyone list them???
@@complex9k In the commentsection was a list of memes 2 days ago. i asume its stil there

"General Duncan! You're a bold one"
"Your painting tutorial would make a fine addition to my collection"
The "Hello There" completely slipped past me on first viewing, bravo duncan.
Duncan: "Hello There"
Me: *Wipes proud tear from eye*
*Starts the video with "Hello there!"*
Me: Instantly like.

Welcome aboard!
Loving all those Star Wars quotes Duncan :)
I like that he doesn’t go over the top with highlighting like a lot of other folks do.
"Two thin coats" meets "Hello there."
Unable to contain the combination of two such powerful memes, the internet exploded.
That mini will make a fine addition to your collection.
Duncan and star wars legion, what a time to be alive!
Great video, Duncan! Appreciated.

Hi Casey. That's some really great advice and thanks for sharing with everybody 😊
Duncan: Hello there
Me: General Rhodes, you are a bold one

General Kenobi
"Hello there!"
Great first line, it did not go unnoticed xD
The sheer amount of puns was incredible!
So many references and the first sight of a wet palette on the channel. He's become an absolute madlad free from the corporate overlords.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Remember, two small light sabers are better than one big one.
😂
Two hands two blades, smart
General Kenobi! And May the Fourth be with you all on this project, should you attempt to paint it
The way he delivers all those quotes with a straight face...beautiful
Wet palette for the win🤏🏻 Love you Duncan!😘

'A more elegant palette from a more civilized age' you absolute legend, Duncan :-D
Extremely excited to see more SW: Legion paint jobs!!! Amazing work Duncan and crew!!!
Thank you and thank you for the support :-)
Thank you Duncan, I learned how to not only paint but to love table top games as well.
I really like how chilled this is
Your painting is impressive. You must be very proud.
Amazing as always.
Though I can't get over how Obi-Wan is wearing armor that protects everything but his vitals...
Rule of cool all day every day
In the 2003 Cartoon he wore full clone armor with his cape
That's a brilliant method for white armour. I know what to do with my howling banshees now, thanks!
The amount of references tho :) Great vidéo as always!
I just enjoyed this video so much!
I’m loving all the Star Wars puns. Also nice to see a wet palette in action.
its nice to see you finally let loose to make longer in-depth vids, always thought your gw ones were clipped and to short to be fully useful
14:31 using the force of the bristles? Nice
Thank you😁
Straight faced Star Wars quotes, top notch. Also very informative about painting technique. All in all, well done
Hello there
General duncan.
Love the kenobi model and im glad your back painting.
Thousand times better than the stormtrooper. Great work.
Stunning! Thanks for sharing, Duncan (and Roger).
Our pleasure!
This is single handedly the best video on the internet! Great job man! Keep it up
Duncan thanks for all you do - side note my Archaon is painted!!! Thank you for your brilliant painting tips.

The meme game/reference game is strong with this one.
Great tutorial as usual. Love the 'subtle' SW quotes that were scattered throughout.
this video is nothing but Obiwan quotes, and I love it.
Cant wait for the Anakin vid.

It's so nice to see you getting to use the full panoply of available tools (like all of us) when paintings mini's now.
Absolutely stunning work. Especially that armour. Loved all the puns/references throughout too. Both the subtle and not so subtle 😂
i love this video. Obi-wan looks fantastic, and all the star wars references are much appreciated.
Last time I was this early I hadn't even put my first thin coat on yet
😂

That's a great sculpt on that mini! Lovely painting too, wish I could do faces like this!!
Hey Duncan! Great video. BTW - I'm glad that you started using wet palette in your videos - it's a big help for new painters.
Zandri Dust on its own is a little bit too much on the dark side! Duncan, thank you for a great video and some brilliant puns along the way!
Thank you for the entertaining and informative video Duncan and Roger. This brightened up my day.👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Would love to see count dooku as well at some point, give the CIS some love!
Viva la Duncan! Long live the King
One second in... Beautiful
The amount of memes was strong in this one, many of which were so subtle that I don't think everyone even picked up on them.
Great work, as usual! Nice to hear you both chuckle at the end xD
The quotes make this a worthy watch without any quality painting techniques!
I did find it interesting that you didn't dot the eyes. Loved the work on the cloth. Thumbs up.
