I'm nothing else but a hobby guitarist, and I've mostly played Rock and Metal for the past 2 decades (I'm in my mid-30s now), but recently, I've SERIOUSLY gotten into Funk music. At this point, playing riffs like these has become more fun to me (although I still love Rock & Metal), and they can be surprisingly difficult to play too. Thanks for this vid! More riffs to add to my arsenal.
@@AleksandrsKarimovs your ridiculous comment is unforgivable. You are a fellow guitarist just like us why talk down on him? He's an amazing player. You yourself are a musician. We can't be tearing each other down man.
THANK YOU. With guitar as my second instrument, I can never figure out disco/funk chords. Just need to etch these into my vocabulary -- it's like learning to throw ghost notes anywhere in a bass-line. Just the requirements of the genre.
👍🏼 The wrist… I got a gig because of my wrist. Maybe 50+ guitar players auditioned for the job. I got the gig because the bass player (formally from Kid Rock) said, “it was your wrist…”. Didn’t matter what else. Had the job within a 10 minutes and didn’t even know it lol.
Ah !!! I didn´t know I was a funky guy with my acoustic guitar ... all the time I fell in the funky zone no matter if I´m playing Jazz or Blues ....whatever I play .... something calls for ... funk ... great video and I couldn´t help to miss ....Machine Gun By the Comodores ... that is the Holy Grail of Funk !!!! ... Thanx for this chords, man !!!
Il y a 11 jours c'était "10 great easy black metal riffs" et aujourd'hui le volume 2 de "disco funk" : 2 salles, 2 ambiances ! Personnellement pas d'hésitation : je me trémousse sur la piste disco 😄
The Actual Funk stuff sounded like Polka with the backing tracks, the Brick in the Wall sounded like the PF without Roger Waters. That is definitely big shoulder suits in pastel 80's Music. It's like a bunch of frustrated Bass Players stuck on Guitar, that's all they could fit in though were one note lines and a few really rhythmic high chord parts with all the horns and vocals going on. Good stuff a little lesson about a genera.
I love this style of presentation - like a lead sheet with visual cues and no "teaching"!

2:31 that progression from F# to Ddim/F to D#m is surprisingly beautiful, even though of all songs it’s YMCA

No it is not. He's rushing, which is unforgivable for guitarist in this style of music...

You've got your syncopated strumming down! You make even basic stuff sound good, like your amp tone too .
Thanks for the positive feedback!
very nice...the real problems in playing those funky diaco are the odd chird shape and how to mute the non playing string. tricky stuff.
Couldn't stop tapping my feet.....to the beat👍👏🤞🎸🦫🏒🇺🇸😎
Un peu de détente ça fait du bien au moral
