Was thinking the same. When you make a list of 10 (or 12, as it de facto is) songs you SHOULD learn, you'd expect some diversity and some of the all time greats. Not saying these songs are bad per se, but most emblematic of the genre - no, they aren't

Start slow, nail the transitions on the chords down and only then add the riddim
It's actually easier than it looks like, your strumming hand does the least work, while the fretting hand frets in the right notes only when it's necessary. Just gotta find that funk style tone and ready to rock!
Don't be afraid to slow stuff down and raise the funk up from the ground, the Rome wasn't built in a day!!!

That's funny how people sometimes doesn't pay attention to timing, like they think that if they just next time try better it will magically become better. No, if it's off, than probably you have to practice with metronome, record yourself, do your research, etc., but make your way to play in groove.
