I love watching the reaction videos for Jinjer, they are all the same. This is nice, little boring, smooth and melodic, she has a nice voice and WTF?????????? Did I just hear that? lol

      Melodic? Yes.

Even if tge whome song was just that melodic sound i wouldn't say it would be boring but the screaming takes it to a whole another level and i fucking love it

I was blessed to be able to see Jinjer live on Saturday night and they were F'ing amazing! They are technically precise musicians. There were only about 100 people at this little club in Nowhere, USA (Kennewick, WA). They brought the house down! I'm still pinching myself. Pisces is a great song but they have a lot of other great stuff. Check out "Outlander" or "Just Another" or "Who is Gonna Be the One?"(Live) by Jinjer. Rock on, Pink!

Love ya, Pink! Yeah, my buddy and I got to chat them up a bit and hang out. Got some pics with them too. Super nice seem like good people. Everyone including Jinjer and all the bands in the room were so grateful. A lot of people were a little starstruck. Totally surreal night.

Jinjer is one of the most rediculously talented semi-unknown bands on the planet. I've been a metalhead since, I guess 10 yrs old (I had ....And Justice For All on fuckng cassette tape, yeah I'm ancient) and damnit man, what a band!
Can't tell you how thrilled I am at the current female fronted metal acts. This genre needed some fresh ideas and this is it. So much of the old school metal fell down when it came to the vocals, we don't have that problem here. Amazing clean vocals and a perfect tone on the aggressive stuff.
I'm a Jinjer missionary, show this band to everyone I can and they all have the same reaction "Holy shit this is fucking incredible!"
Haven't seen any but if they ever come to play anywhere in the US I'm going.

james staggs I've been listening to metal for a long time myself. That being said, I disagree 100% about this band. Extremely talented but overall this band lacks everything I look for in a metal band or song..

Hey, nice to see you Beau here. What another reaction channels are you lurking? I have somehow gotten hooked to these channels :). I currently follow Ruben Bujis, jReactor, TruantReacts, AMAReacts and A&P-REACTS. I check Weaboo occasionally too, but unfortunately he doesn't do song reactions that much anymore. Did I miss some good channels where people react to songs new to them? Asking help from the expert, since I know you know at least some of these guys. And you channel rocks by the way. Like the occasional speeded up drawing videos. I wish I could do the same or at least something worse :). Tried to learn digital painting myself, but at the age of 40 it's hard to find the time and patience for that anymore when you are starting practically from zero.

Apparently what she's doing is officially called fry scream vocals (the alternative is false chord vocals).
Screaming/growling would be an accurate way to describe these sounds; when in doubt I just refer to them as unclean/gutteral vocals.
My new hobby is watching reaction videos to this performance - there are several of vocal coaches as well.

Welcome back Pink, I hope the copyright issues weren't too serious {I just can't imagine what was that different from other Reaction videos. Anyway... I'm glad you're back because I like the fact you go deeper ito the songs and, in this case, beyond Tatiana's vocal talent. You did that here and I'm super glad you did. She told in an interview I heard "Pisces" and "I Speak Astronomy" are her own favorite songs, specially because they are the most personal and intimate onses, lyrically speaking so I would go for that song before any other from Jinjer.
PS: You're too sweet by the way... next time your flatmates make that noice while you're recording just release a growling advice to them... if you can't... well... just use Tatiana's fry grwols to scare the hell out of them!!!

It’s a “fry scream”. What is impressive to me is that if you watch a concert vid of this song she sounds even better. What’s also impressive is she doesn’t cup the mic with her hands to help deepen to tone of her fry screams like most men do. She is extremely well trained and has a ton of natural talent on top of that training.

There are a lot of bands that scream but there are a lot that sound like screaming but there’s a sense of serenity and peace too. When you sing gutturally it should not from anger because that can actually destroy your vocal cords (check out M Shadows from A7X) and you risk permanent damage to the vocal cords. If you’re singing from a place of serenity and joy not only does it show in the singing (even with the guttural sounds) it also protect the vocalists from destroying their gift. She’s one of those cases where she’s singing out of peace and serenity and not rage and adrenaline induced fury. And the musicianship is so badass but her voice can overshadow the awesome talent of everyone else around her.

Hello, if you want more Jinjer then i suggest - I speak Astronomy - probably their best song. Sit Stay Roll Over - is their first song to catch my ear and I still love it.

The song is called Pisces and she's a Pisces that's her astrological sign Neptune is the ruler of Pisces as she says, Neptune's child shivering inside. So what he's doing and saying how to sign of the fish which is Pisces and the fish itself is symbolizing the character of a Pisces person which is almost a little like naive and just filled with wonder and curiosity and along the way you they get hurt. The begining, "Step Foward and meet a new sunrise. " keep that in mind, because revisit that again. The chorus is about talkin about a fish actually, the scales are of a fish and it looks like a AMA but actually it doesn't really help much that's what they realized mean that whatever it is you're putting forth really doesn't live up to what it should be. And then one being brings life so you know one person can ReNew Life and another will run for death so this is bringing life and then dying. Moving along, people who are born under the sign of Pisces there a little evasive you know like he says I'm skidding so you know like very easy-going people but they sometimes don't they're not Direct did not sign back there a little bit of Meek they're very giving and they're very loving and there's this fear rejection but then there's this niceness about them actually like the sacrificial lamb and its really really coincides with the idea of Jesus. And so she goes back from her signed to who she is and then an example with the fish which I like the way she does that very effortlessly. And then the next, no promises I can keep don't rely on me and I losing a don't want to see that very much like the sign of Pisces being skittish

A lot of the lyrics online are wrong. People think she’s singing, “scale armor blaze”. She’s not. It’s, “scale armor belies virgin innocence.”
Her weathered, tough and armor-like scales are a seeming contradiction to the virgin, untried, inexperienced innocence that still exists within her.
I’m not a Pisces, and don’t subscribe to Astrology; however, that being said, this song is probably the most accurate and creative song, or even poem, written about Pisces. She references and balances the aquatic features of the sign with the conflicting duality of its nature. And both the music and the vocals reflect that, as well. Shoot, even the lighting choice in the studio for the video has depth and subtleties that enforce the themes in the song. It almost makes me wish I was a Pisces so I could claim this song as a theme song for my sign.
This is a brilliantly written, flawlessly played, and impressively vocalized song.
Also, I think I’m in love. Oh...with whom, you ask? Tatiana Shmaylyuk or PinkMetalHead?
    ...Yes. 😉

Pink I truly enjoyed watching your reaction. I would venture to say you felt the same thing I did when really and I mean really listening. It was impossible to listen to her and watch her and not feel emotionally overwhelmed by her precision and range. Her transitions were absolutely amazing. Listen to their songs Outlander and Sit, Stay, Rollover. You will see the power in that little body she has just become a beast on stage. In a world where female singers are starting to take a driver's seat in metal, I really think Jinjer is gonna go straight to the top of the list. I really enjoyed your reaction. Please do more and find a good place to kick up your feet in our metal community!! 😉😉😉

I think the proper term for her non-clean vocals is a Roar. I'm not 100% sure but the higher scream is a screech as you said and there are growls but I think they're deeper and harder to understand for most. She's got an amazingly guttural roar and also she is Ukrainian and sings perfect English. Jinjer is a great band, check out I Speak Astronomy if you haven't yet.
