Luna moths are the same. Their entire "adult" life is for breeding and laying eggs. No time for food! I'm sure there are others, I only know about Luna moths though 🤷🏻♀️
Calling moths and butterflies 'adults' isn't totally accurate since their caterpillars have to make huge life decisions. As somewhat of an insect geneticist myself, it amazes me that despite sharing a lot of our genetics with these creatures, there is so much more that is different!
I make jumping spider hides with them. Otherwise I pretty much collect them. I kinda want to make soap but I also want to save them in case I want something made with them.
One nitpick... The species didnt "decide on its own to prioritize reproduction"... All evolution prioritizes reproduction. Not for any reason. Its just... sort of accidental. Circumstantial. Creatures born carrying traits (behavior, preferences, fertility, mutations, anything) that result in more reproduction are going to pass on those same traits. And the next gen will have those too. Evolution is just... consequential.
That's the most down bad human decision I've ever heard an insect make.
At least they are hyper adorable.
*I have no mouth and i must breed*
Yoo nice reference
That sounds kinky
Haven’t playing but it’s on my wish list. And I’ve been meaning to read the book as well
They’re adorable! And fascinating 🙂
Thank you❤
Thats so cute and also funny to see moth 18+😂😂😂😍
Are these the domestic ones that can’t fly? Because seeing them not being able to lift while flapping is funny 😭
@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist5 hail Satan I wanna give Satan the glug glug before we cuddle and I lie on his big squishy pecs
It makes me a little sad
Fapping I mean flapping
That part is due to breeding
A defining characteristic of moths in the Saturnid family.

At last an intelligent channel, thank you
What do you do with their cocoons? Can silk cloth be made from them, or does removing the moth from inside ruin the silk?

Awesome❤
This moth is already dead, it just doesn't know it yet
