My grandparents used to make custom metal and wood puzzles like these. The second puzzle showed they made something just like it, but the sides were horseshoes welded to a chain. I love the recreation of Einsteins lock puzzle.

I found a second solution to the symmetry puzzle. Starting with the way the pieces are laid out at 4:18 in the video, if you take the left piece and put it in the middle, take the middle piece and put it on the right with the leftmost part of it sliding one stud under the rightmost part of the piece you just place in the middle, then take the right piece, rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise, and place it on the left, you will get a shape that looks a bit like a little pair of wings which has one line of symmetry.
These are actually as good as on those puzzle channels where they do a 20 minute videos about a single puzzle like this... PS. I meant this as a compliment because the puzzles as re good and still this video is short and sweet
