Since there r only 25 medallion limited editions left, i think people should keep an eye out if someone is selling these online in bulk and reported for the theft. Send any links of postings selling these medallions to Emily and Ed
So, Snake Discovery fans, if you seen someone selling all that merchandise in CA, you KNOW they're probably the ones who took all that stuff...... Just get their merchandise on their website!
I'm a local, and there's two big farmers markets that they likely would be sold at. Denios Farmers Market in Roseville, CA(less than 30 mi from the show), which is open every weekend, and Folsom Blvd Farmers Market in Sac, (like 10 minutes from where the show was) which is open twice a month for the weekends. I don't know how long ago they were here, though. I think the sac reptile show was early september, so they might be long gone. I'm super dissapointed that this happened here. I'll certainly be on the lookout. then I want to move away, cuz woof. it sucks here.
Honestly this may seem rude but I'm not surprised it got stolen since they left their giant stash of suitcases in the trunk😐. In California😐. They were honestly asking for this.. I'm sorry this happened but this should have been common sense BUT it was a lesson learned. I'm not trying to seem rude I just hate this happened to them😭
@@ceciliacarrillo6923 I was taught the same, but then again I grew up in California. At the end of the day I don't wanna blame them too much. It was certainly a lesson learned
In San Fran it's sooooo much worse! You have to fold down seats, open glove compartments, and leave a sign saying, "Nothing in car, please dont break windows" But yeah, when I worked front desk in Sac, we told people take everything in *and* if you have any suction devices for the windows; wipe the mark off, as they're targeted for electronics as well.
In the future, I recommend contacting venues or local friends you can ship your merch to when you fly. It is what we paintballers have to do when we fly to games, and is likely cheaper and easier than a hilarious number of suitcases 🤩
I've always been taught that you never leave anything in a car overnight. Always take everything in with you, even if it's a pain. There's always the chance that someone will steal it. They especially go after suitcases/backpacks, because those tend to have laptops or other electronics that they can sell.
@@MsIchigo93 Well sure, but unfortunately you live in a world in which other people were not raised as well as you and in which theft is quite common. So as true as it is that people shouldn't steal, they do, so if you don't want your stuff to be stolen you need to be sensible and take steps to make your possessions less of a target to thieves.
yeah one time my friend left her gym bag in her car and all it had in it was dirty sweaty gym clothes and someone broke her window to get in to her car and stole the bag lol. she figured since she had nothing valuable in her car everything would be fine, but just a duffel bag in your car is enough to attract a thief unfortunately. I would have loved to see their faces when they opened that gym bag and all they got was a whiff of stench 😂
@@pcatma It's not a matter of 'not being raised well'. Not everyone lives in a place where theft is super common, therefor not everyone is taught not to leave anything in their cars.
Imagine stealing 2 suit cases full of stuff, get it to the house, open it up...and it's a bunch of esoteric Snake Discovery stuff. LOL. I love the sign up idea. It really will help out the rest of the vendors also since customers won't have to stand in line for several hours. Finally, shout out Phil! The unsung hero of shows.
I didn't know what was in them so my first thought was what if you open a stolen suitcase and it's a snake. Glad they only took shirts though and not animals.
This is unfortunate but imagine how mad that robber was when he opened the suitcase expecting money or something expensive and he just gets pizza cutters and fidget cubes XD
Hope naming your new snake “Lemonade” because the end color reminds me of lemonade ALSO, when life hands you lemons you make lemonade. With everything that went wrong you still got the cutest little snake.
Emily, i love how you get down on the kids levels to talk to them. That makes them feel so special and comfortable when talking adults. All the Disney princesses do that at Disney. You are like a Reptile Princess!!!!
This show seemed cursed😭. The constant things getting stolen hurt my heart. Props to Emily and Ed for still having smiles on their face and a positive attitude because I dont think I could ever!!
I just wouldn’t visit a large city in a coastal state and assume my items are safe in the car. Cities attract capitalism, capitalism creates poverty, poverty creates crime.
California is a hole. I have had 3 cars broken into with nothing inside in 3 different cities. Police don’t even care. Never going to visit there again.
I help run a couple conventions and theft off tables is becoming quite the problem. We encourage every vendor now to look into investing in security cameras for their booth. Just make sure that you have a sign warning that the booth has a surveillance cameras. It may not help in the moment but it does help later if someone is caught. Most events have night security but having the cameras there running overnight also helps just in case something happens overnight. Glad you guys were able to make it through the weekend and have a good time in spite of the issues. I am sure everyone had a blast meeting you.
Oh no. This is the saddest I've seen you guys since your shop got broken into. I just want to hug you both. I really respect your ability to look on the plus side and recover as much as you can.
Please keep doing the assigned times for meet and greet. It would be so great to be able to see you and the show. Plus great as someone with disabilities that can’t stand in lines for hours.
I specifically didn't go because I thought I couldn't stand in the line because of my disability. I really hope they keep the assigned times so I can go in the future.
Wish I could give you guys a hug. When you got to the stolen snakes my heart was just so hurt. I wanted to tell you it was ok NOT to be ok, but you kept it sooooo upbeat and positive, I'm sure it was challenging to move forward and I am proud of you guys. And when Riley gifted you the snake it was like a happy ending. I pray the rescues are ok.
Thank you to Riley! He may not have known it when he gifted them that BEAUTIFUL snake, but that is such a great kindness after a weekend where they were hit with so much of the worst humans have to offer. Thank you, Riley!
Stolen rescues?! Did they mention that in this video or have I missed something?? EDIT: I just got to that point in the video (12:51), god that is just horrible 😢. I really hope the poor snakes are okay, what rotten people.
Emily and ed are so sweet and seem like genuinely good people that dont deserve such nonsense to happen to them. whomever stole from them i hope your pillow is always warm, your soup is always cold and you bread is always moldy
I get my feeders from their store and see them quite often, they 100% are the same in person as you see on camera. And yes, they are the type of bosses to jump on a register to cut down the line when it’s busy lol
They run a great store/zoo with great staff. Met Ed & Emily a few times, I actually held one of their snakes for the first time as my first ever snake experience and they were thrilled to be a part of that. From what I have experienced with them they really are genuinely good people who run a good business.
Riley’s voice has a ton of love, gentleness and passion! And so happy to see Phil’s smile with the present 🎁 It’s so sad that some people stole merch and animals, but because of those big smiles I could enjoy this video!
Aww Riley giving them a little snake and saying "too late" probably made their whole weekend so much better. I hope they could focus on the positives as much as possible! The carpet's name - my immediate thought was "Hard wood" types of floor XD
@that_one_who_is8037 possibly, but most of the criminals are just looking for stuff they can sell on Ebay or the open market street pop ups so they can make rent and feed their kids at best or at worse fund their drug addictions.
I assume you meant rubber as in plastic but I'm just imagining a suitcase with loose rubber boas and their colour throwing people off. Wiggling poop would be a good deterent.
Thank you for saying this! We lost my Dad Phil earlier this year, and he looked a lot like Emily's Phil, and would absolutely have been as big, and as kind, a helper as Stepdad Phil, so it just makes me so happy seeing the community love for this awesome (step)dad.
Pro tip: if you have to leave baggage in your car throw a bunch of garbage (dry stuff, like fast food bags and magazines and whatnot) and junky looking stuff on top of it. Car prowlers like to smash-and-grab, they like to plan what they'll take before they break the glass so they can disappear before anyone can identify the sound they just heard. If you keep things organized you're just making it easier for them. But if the inside of your car looks like pure chaos they're less likely to risk taking the extra time to dig for valuables, they can't even be sure if there is anything worthwhile in there. I'm dead serious, this helps. I live in a neighborhood that has an absurdly high rate of car theft and GTA. We used an old car of ours as storage for years and no one ever tried to break into it, it looked like a waste of time to them.
I will third this. Just make it look like a mess. I've worked many many years as fast food and some years as a delivery driver. I've seen peoples reactions to seeing vehicles full of trash and it's heartbreakingly disappointing. I've heard several comments about how even a thief wouldn't target them because of the mess.
Actually, not only is a messy car NOT a deterrent, it can actually make cars more of a target for thieves. Thieves don't care abt a mess - they're more likely to break into a car with trash and stuff strewn around bc they think valuables may be hidden inside whereas a clean empty car has nothing to take. For those stealing the car itself and/or parts, pros have buyers lined up ahead of time and go for specific ones while non pros take whatever is the easiest, regardless of condition. A quick Google search brought up multiple articles from the US and UK stating a messy car doesn't prevent theft.
The meet and greet worked great for us! We were the second group (10AM) on day one and only waited 20 minutes. Our 5 year old was sooooo excited to meet you (and so was the rest of the family!). We love snake discovery. I am so sorry for the stealing of merch and snakes. :( I wanted to tell you our kids play meet and greet as a game now. Its adorbs.
My home city has warnings around any parking lot to empty your car before thieves do it. Nice of the rental company to give you not only a new car but a free Phil!
I’m so sorry about the thefts. I had a meet and greet ticket for Saturday evening, but I ended up finding and purchasing my first snake at the expo, so between concern for her stress and being overwhelmed by how crowded the show was, I didn’t feel like I could stick around for several more hours for the official meet. However, I did stop by the booth and buy one of your coloring books and said hi to Ed and Phil. Both were so nice and I had no idea what you all had been through by how kind and friendly everyone was. I’m kicking myself on the timing now that I know you won’t be back next year, but here’s hoping a meet and greet works out in 2026 now that I have a better idea of what to expect. I’m so glad someone brought you señorita bread from Starbread. They are the best and have locations around the greater Sacramento region. Thanks for all you guys do!
For the future, you should cover it with like a foam mattress or a heavy blanket so it doesn't look like 7 suitcases in a car. (or just bring them inside)
OR you could just avoid Californistan altogether. Which I hate to say because I Live here. The Tulare Reptile show is on the 26th and 27th. A much safer area . OUR cops will show up.
Honestly that assigned queue system sounds great, especially for families with neurodivergent kids who can't wait in lines for long periods of time. Hope you guys keep doing that! It's great for the ND community!
I'm so sorry you guys had to experience that. Unfortunately, the three west-coast states are getting pretty bad in terms of theft and vandalism and other such crimes. But you were able to stay positive and that is so uplifting! Wishing you both the best!
Small suggestion! When making limited edition items always number them so that should any get stolen you can record which ones were stolen and it can help you track them back to the thief :)
Well they always engrave the back with their logo so they could, in theory, engrave them also with their number. Would make them a lot more expensive to produce though
I had a van broken into at a convention... it traumatised me and is the reason I never did another convention again. I am soooo sorry this happened to you. I feel like the worst part, coming from experience, is that because of how niche the items were, they probably just got thrown away... I lost a handmade cosplay amongst my stuff and whenever I think back to the incident, knowing all that just almost certainly just got thrown away hurts the most. I'm glad you were still able to do the con! Hoping this never happens to you guys again and wishing you the best!
I'm sorry that happened to you :( that majorly sucks, especially with how many hours and how much money usually goes into homemade cosplays also sad to hear that event completely turned you away from for going to cons
We love you guys. We know we don't /need/ to give y'all gifts, but you guys bring us so much joy and happiness, we just want to give the both of you some of that in return. ❤❤
you guys are like a comfort show for me. I relate to your passion and positivity emily. Seeing you coming to my hometown is so exciting! but seeing y’all experience the dark side of my city is kinda a reality check. Everyone is struggling with money here, people steal because everything is so expensive. Im sorry you experienced that.
Something I've been told from very early on (german here): never ever leave anything in the car if it can be visible (like you could see the various luggage). If there is someone going around looking to break in, they will go for a car with something visible they can snatch quickly. I image it's a huge hassle to take all of these inside the room, but it would be safer to always do that anyway. You might have gotten insanely lucky before leaving things in the car while you did things on road trips honestly.
Especially with the camera bag. I never leave anything in the car. And if I leave a backpack in the car, I always open it up so people see there is only food or something in it😂
As a French person, same. I wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving the suitcases in the car at all. I've also seen a Mark Rober video about thieves breaking car windows to steal backpacks, and I think that was from another city in California. Maybe it's a cultural difference within the US.
It's the same here in Sweden. Parking lots have big signs "Empty your car before someone else does it!" And "Warning! Don't leave anything in your car!" And we are taught from a really young age to not leave anything (visible) in the car.
Stealing is for the low IQ so dont expect common sense. Few days ago Chicago train cart got stolen from and there were dozens of TVs for sale that were seen being stolen LIVE
Yup. I said the same thing the day it happened. I said go look in garbage bins near the hotel within a few blocks. I can almost guarantee they were thrown away.
Idk, I've caught dog thieves selling dogs before stealing them from their owners using convincing sob stories they can't keep "their" dog, I daresay the thieves may get away with saying they're friends with Ed and Emily, or they bought it legit and want to sell it etc... Thieves are sly.
I AM SO GLAD YOU GOT THAT SNAKE FROM RILEY AHHHH ♡♡ That was soooo sweet and so needed after all the theft and stuff. I am so glad you had that lovely highlight of the day. ♡♡♡
Call her "Rainbow" cause after a storm comes a rainbow! Sorry that yall had soo many things stolen, but some really great moments at the show for sure😂❤
Went to this show and my husband and I got to meet you guys! I’m sorry about your car being broken into. It’s not just Sacramento that is bad, pretty much all of California. Whenever u come to California next, make sure you don’t leave anything inside the car. It’s even worse if you go to the Bay Area. Break ins are so common there that people just leave their windows rolled down so they don’t get smashed in. I hope this doesn’t discourage you from coming back to the Sacramento show. It was so cool to see all of you guys in person and to meet other Snake Discovery fans. Definitely a huge highlight of the show. Also I loved the new reservation system for the meet and greet. Was actually able to meet you guys this time! I wasn’t able to stay in the heat and sun for such a long time last show, so I wasn’t able to meet you the first show you came to.
Pretty albino carpet python! Riley is amazing and so are his animals. You couldn't have picked a better person to interview to represent the Morelia community.
Next time you have flasking lights can you please put up a warning even if its just for a few seconds at the time? like "under the meet and greet segment(tiestamp) ther will be some flashing lights" or something, I have epelepsy and I got a bit some sypthoms because of the flashing lights). I know you probably won´t see this but maby a patron will who can contact you...
My apartment was robbed a few years ago and even though I don't live in that apartment anymore, it really impacts me to this day. The stress of worrying about my house, wondering if there's anything I did wrong that made my apartment a target, the lack of help from the police all still cause me to worry pretty much any time I leave my house. I'm so sorry this happened to you guys :(
I hate that you had such a rough start to this trip between the car break-in to the two animals being stolen inside the show. California was showing off its not so shiny side which stinks. Congrats on the sweet little addition to the Snake Discovery fam - that little carpet python is adorable. Thanks Riley for helping turn the tides of their trip in a more favorable direction!
So sorry about the theft, my Dad always insisted that if stuff was visible in our car we had to cover them up. Most boots/trunks here in the UK have a parcel shelf so you can’t see through the window. However our cars are smaller too.😊
Same. You don’t wanna give someone the reason to break into your car. I remember getting rear ended so I had to drop my car off to a repair place. When they went in to inspect the car and tide me an estimate, they never locked it, so as I went to leave in my mom’s car, two young men saw us approaching my car and ran from it. (They were inside of my car) I’m lucky I decided to transfer all of my school stuff into my mom’s car before I left since it had my laptop in it. All they found on my car after that was a couple of slim Jim wrappers and a frayed charger cord.
After all the thefts, but still needing to be so peppy for the fans - you could sing Taylor's "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart"!!! Great job keeping it together for the show!!
That behavior is so common in San Francisco, citizens will leave their hatches wide open when parking on the street so everyone sees there’s nothing valuable inside the car.
After having my third window smash and radio stolen I stopped rolling up the windows. It weirdly stopped radio number 4 being stolen. Although by then I was getting my radios from pick and pulls. This was 2010s South Bay Area
Yep, Sacramento, San Francisco, Portland OR, and Seattle WA. People leave signs that their doors are unlocked and to please not smash the windows, leave the windows down, or doors open. Many other places are getting to be just as bad.
@RB-vg5ig a symptom of capitalism :/ when resources are scarce or hard to obtain ppl turn to theft. In Sac especially its well known u don't leave stuff in the car and if you do you park in one of the pay to get in parking spots that are enclosed with cameras up. Even then there is still a risk, but never does anyone local ever keep their stuff in their car especially over night. Hell even ppl living in that city have their cars broken into and that's in their own parking lot o.o
So sorry to hear, Ed and Emily. Luckily, I think most people are just excited to see you both. 💕 Editing to add - extra sorry to hear about the stolen animals. That’s so not cool. Maybe from now on you can set up a table behind you to hold the live reptiles? That way people need to ask to see them. I have to say - it is admirable that even though crappy things kept happening, you didn’t cancel and even met all your fans with smiling faces.
The carpet pythons are just so beautiful. They are beyond my physical abilities at 62 and chronic pain, but if I had known about them 30 years ago...I would have fallen love! What a very nice thing to do to give Miss Emily her own baby carpet python. What a beautiful baby she is! Can't wait to see her grow!!!
I’m so sorry that happened and I really hope it doesn’t discourage you guys from coming back to California. Absolutely the state has its downfalls, just like every state does, but it really is a beautiful and unique state. I have lived in SoCal pretty much my entire life and I truly can’t imagine living anywhere else. I tried living in other states and they just can’t compare! I can easily take a day trip to the beach, mountains, or desert because each are only 1-2 hours from me. We have so much to do from camping, hiking, and stargazing to tons of pro sports teams, amusement parks, and there is always concerts just about every night. Yes it’s expensive to live here but it’s a price many of us are willing to pay because we love our state. I’m sorry for ranting a little, I just know there’s going to be some California hate in the comments and I just wanted to show my home some love!
I wish I had paid attention to previous posts of where you were heading. I lived and still live around the Sacramento area. You NEVER leave anything important in your car. People break into them all the time to steal stuff. So sorry that happened to you.
I feel so awful about the stolen animals. Sacramento is the absolute worst. Please be safe and possibly look into the areas you travel to before you go there. When I was in middle school in Sacramento, I had some stranger try to stab me. It's really dangerous. So please be careful.
@@Ateezwooyoung Yes 2 snakes were stolen DURING the show saturday. The next day they got a security guard for safety thanks to the organizer of the show.
Oh guys I'm so sorry, I guess it does show the difference between your bit of the world, and elsewhere - you might get the rougher weather, but it seems you get the gentler people. I can't think of a city in the UK where anyone would feel safe leaving luggage in a hotel carpark overnight, sad really, but good on the hotel staff for securing the camera bag, and letting you know asap. Much love, keep your chins up, as my Dad would have said (he'd have also used quite a lot of non-family-friendly language to describe the thieves, and wouldn't have been wrong either!)
Precisely. I can tell it happend to me. Originally from Puerto Rico and there are places there where you have to be very careful once night comes. Meanwhile, I moved to Spain and you can walk around up until the morning knowing that nothing bad will happen to you.
“Their neck of the world” has plenty of smash and grab robberies, as any quick internet search will show. They just don’t leave valuables in the car in their neck of the woods.
@@smoothknyte Sigh. I BEGGED them to get security training (after hearing they left money in a register overnight!) after the break-in… I guess they didn’t.
@@khills I mean bless their hearts for being as trusting as they are, its not security training they need, it's common sense. For crying out loud, Emily used to work in a retail store. She should already know the procedures there and be able to apply them to their business. this stuff feels kind of avoidable.
Welcome to California! I grew up in Sacramento. It was an awesome place this live in the 60s and 70s. Today it's just sad... like all big cities...I live in Washington now and if your car gets stolen, the cops won't do anything to investigate... because there are too many. They take the report and that's it! 😮 On a happy note... you guys are so happy and loving and kind. The world needs more people like you!
That was so sweet of Riley to give you that baby carpet python. Next year, when we make our annual visit to Snake Discovery, we will make a point of asking to see her.
For future shows you can mail packages to hotel and they will hold them for you. That way you don't need to have 6+ suitcases and can bring more stuff too.
Honestly, I’m absolutely gutted for you guys! Especially because you seem like such wonderfully kind and genuine people, and it always seems to be the good people that end up with this kind of bad luck hitting them. I’m from a small town where growing up generally it was considered safe to leave things in your cars, and even leave the cars unlocked, and leave doors unlocked overnight in your house etc, but these days nothing is worth the risk, and I won’t be separated from my luggage when travelling at all. Even when I get to where I’m going I’m extra precautionary about things in my hotel room too. You just never know and I seem to have the worst luck. I’m just so glad that through it all you’ve received such kindness too, with all the thoughtful gifts and the organiser ensuring you had security on the second day after the animals were stolen! Again, I’m so sorry to hear all this but so glad you still made the best of it, and I can’t wait to see what the projects are that you’re planning for the future and throughout 2025!
It's a good thing you left your most important stuff in the most "beat up" looking suitcase. That's probably why the thieves left it alone. I'm so sorry that happened to you! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 That was a cool bit of trivia regarding Ed's old employment......my partner only drives Fords too! He was an apprentice mechanic when he was younger!
I am very glad to have been able to meet you this time with my sister after missing the last one. I am so sorry that this happened, but I hope you had a good show nonetheless. PLEASE don't let this tarnish the reputation of our city for you. These thefts are definitely nowhere NEAR as common as people make them out to be, even the cops. I hope you can come back at some point, we enjoyed having you here! Also I just HAD to give you the Rayquaza card, it was worth it!
I truly admire your ability to stay positive on this trip. Honestly, I would be devastated and ready to just turn around and go home after all the theft (especially the animals) 😟
I live about 3 hours from Sacramento, and this breaks my that this happened to you guys. 😢 Not how I wanted your second visit to be. Love you guys and hope to meet you some day.
Oh condolences, getting stuff stolen still hurts. I had a house break in a year ago and they took the most expensive thing I owned so it really hurt, especially since I'm unemployed. Sending love ❤️
When I worked for Hilton we had vendors come through on a fairly regular basis with pelican cases and we would be happy to keep them either in the back or behind the front desk that was never unattended.

I recommend listing all the shows you participate in and dividing the list in half, so every other year you attend the show. Also, for the California security issue, I recommend checking with the show coordinator and venue to see if you can ship stuff to the venue ahead of time for a small storage fee or something. There's a package holding system with UPS, I think.
I'm so so sorry you guys had to go through this! I pray that the reptiles that were stolen are safe and healthy. It's really really sad to think that for security and safety reasons, it may be a good idea to set up some more of the display ones with a lock and key. Either way, I'm glad you 3 are safe and unharmed. I'm glad everyone was so understanding and that you guys still had an amazing time. Thank you Jeremy for everything, including the security! They especially go after suitcases/backpacks, because those tend to have laptops or other electronics that they can sell.
See I've always been taught never to steal from anyone and to leave other people's property alone, idk tho
At least they didn't get any animals... they'd probably have killed them out of fear. 😟
I imagined the thieves opening a suitcase and SNAKES pop out. Or spiders.
I didn't know what was in them so my first thought was what if you open a stolen suitcase and it's a snake. Glad they only took shirts though and not animals.
(just making a joke to make light of the situation) they actually are snake discovery superfans and were directly looking FOR the shirts lol
@@cutecats532 I mean, later in the video they mention someone stole two snakes off their table somehow...so that sucks.
This is unfortunate but imagine how mad that robber was when he opened the suitcase expecting money or something expensive and he just gets pizza cutters and fidget cubes XD

That are hard to resell because it's so niche with a (mostly) loyal fanbase.
Sad that it means that all of it probably got thrown away cuz it has no resell potential.
I thought the same thing! Haha like aw damn just some puzzles! 😂 Moron robbers
They try to sell those and they're gunna know who stole it XD
Hope naming your new snake “Lemonade” because the end color reminds me of lemonade ALSO, when life hands you lemons you make lemonade. With everything that went wrong you still got the cutest little snake.

OMG I love this idea! EVERYBODY, LIKE THIS COMMENT SO ED AND EMILY SEE IT. 💯
OMG YES, LEMONADE!!!
Love this!
That's a cute and fitting idea.
Awful theft(s) aside, I wanted to CRY that Phil got HIS OWN goodies! That's SO SWEET!!! 😭💖💖
Yes!!!! I came to the comments hoping someone said the same thing! It made me tear up a little bit! He's so sweet 🥹
It's the city that's cursed!
And it was such a nice show to XD lacking in sales of bugs though this time .
@@Bellllllz - Sacramento is a wonderful city, but like any large city, there are good and bad areas
Ed and Emily should invest in those heavy table, lockable storage for their animals.
@@BeckyNosferatu They have other displays, but I imagine did not have the space to take them with since they flew instead of drove.
So sorry that thieves hit you guys twice.....car & stolen reptiles 😢😢😢 I pray for the 2 reptiles safety!
Literally
one rescue and one of their bred snakes, i think it was
Oh no...
Stolen rescues?! Did they mention that in this video or have I missed something??
EDIT: I just got to that point in the video (12:51), god that is just horrible 😢. I really hope the poor snakes are okay, what rotten people.
@@Aimee0206 they mentioned it
Emily and ed are so sweet and seem like genuinely good people that dont deserve such nonsense to happen to them. whomever stole from them i hope your pillow is always warm, your soup is always cold and you bread is always moldy
And their potatoes always hard
better yet, they don't realise the bread was mouldy until they already ate a couple slices
I hope the get caught on every single door
Riley’s voice has a ton of love, gentleness and passion! And so happy to see Phil’s smile with the present 🎁 It’s so sad that some people stole merch and animals, but because of those big smiles I could enjoy this video!
Aww Riley giving them a little snake and saying "too late" probably made their whole weekend so much better. I hope they could focus on the positives as much as possible!
The carpet's name - my immediate thought was "Hard wood" types of floor XD
Almost seemed like Emily was gonna cry, she'd have every right to after everything
Idea.. get a sticker that says "Danger Venomous Snakes " and put it on all suitcases. Maybe throw a rubber snake or two for good measure 😂
Might work if the criminals have any common sense. Lok
The issue is that venomous snakes could be valuable, and more of an incentive to steal the cases
@that_one_who_is8037 possibly, but most of the criminals are just looking for stuff they can sell on Ebay or the open market street pop ups so they can make rent and feed their kids at best or at worse fund their drug addictions.
@@that_one_who_is8037👆 this
They might think they could be expensive and try to steal it BECAUSE of it
I assume you meant rubber as in plastic but I'm just imagining a suitcase with loose rubber boas and their colour throwing people off. Wiggling poop would be a good deterent.
Hi Phil! Thank you for helping Ed and Emily do so many shows. We appreciate you! 💙🇨🇦

Or just don't leave anything valuable in the car, doubt that will stop thiefs.
i used to live in baton rouge. i second this.
Friends with a reformed theif. This is true. They hated messy cars (food bags, dirty laundry, etc). Also they weirdly got spooked by bibles.
The gift from Riley actually made me tear up that was so sweet!
Aww the baby snake did a fast strike attack to then a fast apologin kiss on the same spot. Sooo freacking adorable
The meet and greet worked great for us! We were the second group (10AM) on day one and only waited 20 minutes. Our 5 year old was sooooo excited to meet you (and so was the rest of the family!). We love snake discovery. I am so sorry for the stealing of merch and snakes. :(
I wanted to tell you our kids play meet and greet as a game now. Its adorbs.

Yeah, when I saw all those suitcases and figured they were visible in the vehicle, I went "Ohhhh, oh no...."
better yet. just bring all luggage into the hotel with you
No, they should take it all inside.
Covering with a blanket will still make it obvious there is something in there, possibly worth stealing
OR you could just avoid Californistan altogether. Which I hate to say because I Live here. The Tulare Reptile show is on the 26th and 27th. A much safer area . OUR cops will show up.
No. In California you never leave anything in the car.
Honestly that assigned queue system sounds great, especially for families with neurodivergent kids who can't wait in lines for long periods of time. Hope you guys keep doing that! It's great for the ND community!
Or for any other disabilities or even other factors that can make that more challenging, really!
I guess every small child in a queue is a challenge…
Way to go Riley for helping to turn what started as a rough trip into a more positive experience! Adorable baby snek!!
I'm so sorry you guys had to experience that. Unfortunately, the three west-coast states are getting pretty bad in terms of theft and vandalism and other such crimes. But you were able to stay positive and that is so uplifting! Wishing you both the best!
It sucks that things were stolen from you.

22:50 fan mail for PHIL! That needs to be a thing! He works so hard and hes shy!
I thought that was awesome!
YESYES!!! WONDERFUL IDEA 🤩🤩🤩
Small suggestion! When making limited edition items always number them so that should any get stolen you can record which ones were stolen and it can help you track them back to the thief :)
Might make printing them more difficult since a sticker could just be removed
Well they always engrave the back with their logo so they could, in theory, engrave them also with their number.
Would make them a lot more expensive to produce though
@idiotically-everything well much like the other person commented they already have a name engraved adding a number shouldn't be too difficult
@angelitabecerra well I'm sure the price might change but but by how much might depend on the manufacturer
I'm sorry that happened to you :( that majorly sucks, especially with how many hours and how much money usually goes into homemade cosplays
also sad to hear that event completely turned you away from for going to cons

Belgian here and yup, this is common sense here in Europe...
ja, das ist leider die realität wenn man nicht nur in amerika lebt, sondern auch in europa ☹️
It's the same here in Sweden. Parking lots have big signs "Empty your car before someone else does it!" And "Warning! Don't leave anything in your car!"
And we are taught from a really young age to not leave anything (visible) in the car.
So dope of Riley to appear & give a gift. Love seeing the community build eachother up.
Thanks to Riley for that sweet gesture. Emily and Ed needed that kindness ❤️ 💕 💗
The worse thing, is the thieves will probably throw most of your merch away as they probably wouldn't be able to sell it without raising eye brows.
Maybe they won´t up selling them anyways since it´s not what they expected to find.
Stealing is for the low IQ so dont expect common sense. Few days ago Chicago train cart got stolen from and there were dozens of TVs for sale that were seen being stolen LIVE
@@justicierodelaliga ... yes, that's what the commenter is saying, they're gonna end up throwing it out since they can't sell it.

I'm so sorry this happened to you guys :(
I LOVE IT THAT PHIL GOT MAIL. Phil is awesome!!😊
However our cars are smaller too.😊
I’ve had my car broken into when there was nothing inside to steal.
Riley you are amazing, you made their trip for this show that much better. They went through such awful things on this trip.
Really? Dang!
@Stef_T-G mark rober's glitter bombs showcase this! Check out the videos!
What a lovely man Riley is. His gift made me tear up xxx
So sorry to hear, Ed and Emily. Luckily, I think most people are just excited to see you both. 💕
Editing to add - extra sorry to hear about the stolen animals.
I mean they got robbed in their "bit of the world" too though. Of all people they shouldn't be of the mindset that "this won't happen to me."

Man, not only did your things get stolen, but people even stole reptiles?! >:( I'm sorry that happened, and hope this doesn't happen next time!

Wow, Riley! What a wonderful surprise. I bet that was a very bright spot for Ed and Emily after the rough start to the event. Stunning snakes!
For future shows you can mail packages to hotel and they will hold them for you. That way you don't need to have 6+ suitcases and can bring more stuff too.
That can get suuuper expensive though. Where I live at least, the shipping is almost as expensive as the items 😂
Events will also sometimes allow shipping right to the event location for a small storage fee
I'm incredibly impressed you kept your smiles. I would've lost it by Saturday night.
That was awesome of Riley to give you that baby. It helps the trip not feel like a complete bad experience.
You have such beautiful souls. Even when you are in a horrible situation you still stay positive ❤
Sorry to hear about what happened as for the little carpet python I think Hikari would be a perfect name for her as she was a little light of happiness for you in this dark time
I love how u guys are so positive!! Its rlly inspiring and you guys deserve everything❤
The fact that you left anything in a car at night, boggles my mind, i would never.
Y'all are so pure🥹🥰
They're from small town red state, they're used to people being polite
That was my first thought. I'm sure they'll only make that mistake once.
It would never cross my mind NOT to leave my stuff in my car. Where I live, the only rule of thumb is don’t leave your wallet on the front seat
@@RebekkaRN1962well you may now know what to vote… not blue.
@@that1juggalo_m2c42Florida? You kidding me right? Gosh they literally have the best governor! One who actually cares about his and even people from other states.
Name the snake Riley!
Great transition for setting up the table.
I'm so sorry this happened to you guys!😢
Oh, Ed, not Ford! My husband works for GM. He was hired when the plant opened just over 30 years ago. Our son works there now, too. I know how you feel Emily. We say the same thing when we see trucks and cars my husband helped make!
I think naming the snake Riley is a lovely idea, and second this!
May those thieves get the justice and karma they deserve!
I feel so bad for you, I want to give you all a big hug.
as a lifetime sacramento native, i hope this doesn't ruin your opinion of it as a whole! i'm so sorry that happened - people suck. I have loved seeing you guys at the sac reptile expo both times this year and i hope to see you again!
Your politicians suck.
@@Ateezwooyoung bro get out of here, we're not talking about politics
@@cassiecswsthis is the result of them voting blue for decades. Yes it has to do with politics. Nothing happened in red states, but as soon they are in a blue state they get robbed.
@@Ateezwooyounghow is that their fault 💀
I personally will not be going to San Francisco. Unless something changes I wouldn't risk my stuff or vehicles. After hearing about this attack, Haunted Nights getting all their expensive camera equipment stolen, and watching Mark Rober trying to attract thieves I can't justify ever traveling there.
I am so sorry that happened to you! I hope you like the gift I gave you and make you happy!
You guys are so great. Even after such a stressful violation, you were still happy and maintained an optimistic outlook. Def something I look up to and appreciate
Phil should have gotten fan mail for years! He's a great guy!
I love in California and i can tell u, the thefts are common in a lot of places here. Also tip, if ur ever in California, never leave ANYTHING out in the open. Sometimes there's even signs telling u to not leave any valuables in cars just cuz robberies. I do wish i could go see u guys at the Sacramento show tho
I would love to see like little interviews with your families & friends talking about their pets, love of animals, etc. There has been so many sneak peaks over the years and I love it haha ❤
so when yall start seeing snake discovery stuff for sale online and they have a lot of it we know what happened
you should sell a stolen snake pin, a snake in a skimask slithering out of a suitcase
That's kinda funny!!!
Awe, the baby carpet is so freaking cute! I can't wait to see what you name her. My vote would be Riley
So sorry for you guys for the break in of the car and for the stolen reptiles at the show!! You two are the most amazing inspiring people! ❤
Those medallions will find the culprits. Keep your eyes open for anyone online selling them. I've got a '94 Ranger and a '99 Explorer Ed, both tough old gals, like me!
