Things like: selling your personal data on the black market or ripping off small businesses that don't have the finances to do anything about it. But most notably is the fact that they intentionally lose money on each order so that they can keep their prices so low. This is at the expense of the vendor, not Temu. Some sellers have anonymously reported that they make no money selling their stuff on Temu and are just trying to get into the U.S. market. I don't want to be a wet blanket. Emily are you okay? It’s the middle of the night 😂 Edit: yes, I know that timezones exist. I also happen to know that it was about 2 am in Emily and ed’s timezone when this video was posted
I don't recommend buying things off of Temu. Jaclyn Glenn (spelling?) did a lot of research and figured out it's a horrible company that's causing a lot of harm. I highly recommend her video. It's very informative.
yes thats why Snake Discovery is showing the products and actual size to show people that its not a good idea to buy off a mass produced site that sells all sorts of things, rather then a specific area of expertise of the product in this case Reptile produts...
@@macaelatice-loma1048 They didn't say not to. Temu has stolen money from customers. I don't know how common that is, but it's not worth the risk. I just don't want people to end up being screwed over. 😓 It's scary, especially since most people don't actually know how bad Temu is.
This was hilarious! 😆 Also shows the level of 'quality' available on Temu. Honestly, if you still want to buy from them after seeing these, you get what you deserve.
Jokes aside, I really hope whatever card you bought stuff from temu on was a throwaway cause temu has been caught stealing credit card details and selling them
This was a super fun video! I'd love to see this as a recurring segment that you guys do! 🎉 EDIT: Maybe going forward you could rank the items on an ongoing tier list.... it allows for more nuance in ranking. I also love Ed reading out the whole title of the product title/description!
I suppose the "explosion proof" cage thing could be used to transport geckos and other small lizards temporarily (like if you're travelling to hand the animal over to someone else). It's bigger than the seller cups at expos, I'll give it that. Permanently tho it would have to be for insects.
The subject matter could be almost anything and I would watch because the style of this video is what had me rolling. The punch ins and editing GOT me. Also, as a long time viewer, I’m so proud of Ed’s camera growth!! Part of why this was so funny to me is your couple dynamic is VERY similar to my own!
I bought that exact mister off amazon when trying to set up my snake's enclosure on a budget. I had to hold the tubes in the machine everytime or they would detach and water would spray all over my room. Glad you guys didn't have that issue, but it was a recurring problem. As for longevity, the machine lasted about 6 months before the buttons stopped working altogether.
I have one of the acrylic habitats for my giant hairy scorpion and it works really well. I think it’s a different brand though… it’s like reptile growth or something. I got it on Amazon for like 20 bucks. Also, the lid definitely does lock onto mine. So much so that I can’t take it all the way off anymore.. I also had a Smokey oak millipede and a giant centipede (not at the same time of course) in there at one point as well as a temporary habitat for my baby banded gecko. I wouldn’t really use it for anything with high humidity unless you use live plants to hold it a bit better..
To answer your question, I love these kinds of videos and would enjoy more of them for a good laugh and some education. Some of these things like the misting system would be great for a crested gecko or any other animal that needs to be misted more than once daily. (in fact I bought one for my crested gecko Falcon).
I appreciate the positive energy and optimism that you always present, but in this review format I think it results in a promotional video that lacks important criticality. For example, what stuck out to me the most was the products presented that were “on sale” from high prices. I would feel confident in stating that these are a scam (were never intended to sell at the “full” price) but I understand that would be a strong claim to make in this video. I was just disappointed that you did not verbally question these at all. Often these are cheap copies of legitimate products, that will show images of the high quality item that the buyer will not receive. (possibly the case with the tong.) I’m not sure if you have background knowledge of Temu, and other commenters have mentioned other issues- but my criticism is that the video presented item quality as the only questionable factor. There is little to no accountability for these sellers and it’s important to make people aware that they are often deceitful, especially when products are claiming to be safe for animals. Like I said I am not suggesting you call any of your purchases scams, but please question and vocalize the possibility. I have not looked into the other claims about Temu but if you are considering making more of this content, it would be good to do so. Thank you for reading this feedback if you have. I love your videos.
I would absolutely LOVE to see more videos like this! I love where you just sit here talking to the camera, and best yet rating things, so we don’t have to waste money on something rediculous
I mean the explosion proof box wouldn’t be a good home. But maybe a carry case? Like to the vets, or taking it home when you first get it. If it is explosion proof it has to be car crash safe right?
I got that exact mister from Amazon a year back and it still works, surprisingly enough. It started to drip at the nozzle a few months in but that doesn't really bother me with my set up. I will say though, pretty much the first time I used it one of the tubes slid out of the pump and distributed water literally everywhere in a matter of seconds. Even though it never happened again, I only plug it in to mist while I stand next to it because I don't want a major water leakage happen in my absence. Definitely not for everyone, but if you are working with a really tight budget this gets the job done
if you told me 6 years ago when i started watching this channel that ed would burst onto camera with a bunch of temu boxes shouting "WOO" i would have called you insane
I have missed this format so so much, it is nice to have a fun video or a try anything video once and a while. I personally loved watching chyanne eat food and the last vlog you guys did at the conference was cool, would love to see more fun videos like this and shenanigans
I bet those gloves would fail with my tempermental cat. You never know if she's going to be sweet or strike. She rarely gives warning through body language for some reason. She's an odd one though, but I love her anyway! ❤
I have 2 of the mister systems in this video and I've been using them for over a year and they don't drip constantly and they work consistently, no problems here
I mean yeah, but I've had some decent cheap things. Not ordered, but same idea. $4 headset from dollarama lasted me a whole year before there were *any* issues. I'd say that's pretty good for the price.
For a backup mister to have on hand just in case the good one breaks. I think this mister would be really great. Just confirm it works ok & then pack it away after a thorough drying. Replace whats in the filter too if you can. I'd love seeing more videos like this.
Regarding the toilet: if it's been 3D printed from filament it may be problematic. A lot of basic FDM printed objects are porous, and water will seep through them; and bacteria love them. But they're also impossible to sterilise as heating them up to dishwasher temperatures will cause them to deform and stop working (inasmuch as a toy toilet ever works...). So they're pretty much a cleanliness disaster waiting to happen. You might be able to get some mileage out of it by filling it with rocks and putting it an aquarium, and using it as a biofilm substrate, but I wouldn't want to use it anywhere where it needs to be kept clean.
I wont judge anyone for buying cheap things on Temu. But i just cant bring myself to. In China, some products are made with forced labor, such as by the Uyghur people. Temu was found not to even pretend that it tries to keep such products off its platform. Things like this that are so cheap i can only imagine were not made ethically.
@@eileenmcdonald1599 There are definitely women who are forced into the sex trades in America (many of whom are then shipped out of the country) but it is highly doubtful that there is WIDE-SPREAD forced labor in the US. I’ve seen documentaries about meat processing plants that occasionally employee young children, but it’s not something that happens often. That is definitely not the case in China. Although it is very difficult to get information out of China due to the political environment, there have been multiple reports about laborers who travel to China for a job, but end up basically working in a forced-laborlike situation.
I absolutely love your channel and actually I actually always wanted a snake as a pet, but my parents were never let me keep up the great work and you deserve 1 million subscribers

The world's first ever potty trained frog. You love to see it.
Emily are you okay? It’s the middle of the night 😂
Edit: yes, I know that timezones exist. I also happen to know that it was about 2 am in Emily and ed’s timezone when this video was posted
Real lol 😂
I was thinking the same lol
Mornin for me, heh
I thought the same thing! lol
Not for me 😈
But then why are YOU awake?? Go to bed!!!
The irony of getting a Temu advertisement on this video.
This was hilarious! 😆 Also shows the level of 'quality' available on Temu. Honestly, if you still want to buy from them after seeing these, you get what you deserve.
Jokes aside, I really hope whatever card you bought stuff from temu on was a throwaway cause temu has been caught stealing credit card details and selling them
real, i was about to ocomment that
This is propaganda from Facebook (who wants to buy temu and tiktok) and Amazon (temu competitor)
It’s happened to my sister a few times
@@katylagan9631 No, it's the truth. It's a China owned site so that explains it. You sound like a Chinese paid spy.

love your content! how about reviewing items from small businesses??
oh this is such a good idea!
Yess!!
that's a good idea! maybe they could carry some of the items in the online shop too as a way to help spread about it if they're good
That's not a bad idea
Boost! 🎉
"you have two volunteers right there!"
both turtles panic as emily reaches in and picks one up faster than they can even get one inch from her. "Oh!"
I won't touch any product from Temu myself but this was interesting to watch 😮
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I laughed so hard at Sharon's new home lol. The way you just lowered her over the tiny box had me rolling.
Lmao Ed was a comedy king in this episode. 😂💚 What an absolute menace.
This was a super fun video! I'd love to see this as a recurring segment that you guys do! 🎉
EDIT: Maybe going forward you could rank the items on an ongoing tier list.... it allows for more nuance in ranking.
With the small breeding box you can use it while you are herping you can put all the smaller critters into it
Loved Ed's little "now breed" when the turtles were put in the breeding box
Mine lasted two 👁️👄👁️
Thank you Emily and Ed ❤ I held my first snake without being terrified this week!
Yay 🎉
I like this new style! It's great seeing Ed on camera more too ♥I hope you continue this style in the future
5:30 made me laugh absolutely way too loud specifically ed ill leave 🤣 😂 it was so nonchalant
To answer your question, I love these kinds of videos and would enjoy more of them for a good laugh and some education. Some of these things like the misting system would be great for a crested gecko or any other animal that needs to be misted more than once daily. (in fact I bought one for my crested gecko Falcon).
I had my bank details stolen and used by temu to buy stuff so be careful using temu they are still being sued by another company
Sharron just floating on top of the plastic box was delightfully silly. She was like a cat in a costume, just suddenly unable to move.
Can we just appreciate how polite Howie is to let hemself be put into that box.
(possibly the case with the tong.)
I’m not sure if you have background knowledge of Temu, and other commenters have mentioned other issues- but my criticism is that the video presented item quality as the only questionable factor.
Ed and Emily also struggling to sleep like all of us 😂
I have missed this format so so much, it is nice to have a fun video or a try anything video once and a while.
I, too, thought that those gloves wouldn't stand up to a cat bite.
The editing on this made it so much more hilarious for some reason 😂
You've gathered us here with our insomnia to watch a temu haul. Bless, I was STRESSED and I feel better now
I love how excited Ed is in the vid.
Ed is so dreamy 😭😭
He’s married………
I need an emotional support slug
I have 2 of the mister systems in this video and I've been using them for over a year and they don't drip constantly and they work consistently, no problems here
I don't buy anything suspiciously cheap because it ALWAYS has drawbacks: it breaks quickly, nonquality material or something else.
I mean yeah, but I've had some decent cheap things. Not ordered, but same idea. $4 headset from dollarama lasted me a whole year before there were *any* issues. I'd say that's pretty good for the price.
I love how Ed now is so comfortable to be in camera
Knowing how before he was so shy
"It fell, how do we check explosions" this had me in stitches. Thanks for the laughs 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The brewing thingy you put all the animals in is most likely a nesting box. That’s why it’s got a hinged lid.
I use those enclosures all the time with my tarantulas, and I love them. I love the little feeding slot on the side.
When Emily said “you bought a toilet?” I died laughing.
So you think people here are not forced?
Snake discovery when ya wake up 👍
That acrylic box would be good for vet visits or when moving buildings
all ill say for the gloves: they should definitly add they are not venemous proof
Us night owls are benefitting from Emily not being able to sleep lol😅
Yay for these videos!
Lizard Smokey black box…thing… could possibly hold eggs?
I’d be totally on board for more of this type of video!
Ed has become more unhinged and I love it XD
I love that Ed is in most videos now, the early ones arent the same without him
My favorite time of day is whenever Snake Discovery uploads a new video. Even after one in the morning and the upload is on the silly side of things.
I like how lion wasn’t even spelled wrong, Ed called it a loin and then corrected Emily for saying it right. This is why he’s gotta stay behind the camera
Emily’s reaction to the cage falling off the table is hilarious
I loved this video, because a lot of these products have shown up on my feeds. The critter keeper with a metal lid is the perfect size for a lot of tarantulas.
22:18 That platform actually looks really good for rats to go swimming in! Put some frozen vegetables and water and they've got a little diving platform😂
My favorite part of this video was Dino. I had a leopard gecko for about 15 years, he was my little buddy and they're my favorite reptile :) Of the products, my favorite would be the snail light, its adorable
The Snail lamp is adorable. The breeding tank is ideal size for nano-chameleons, Amau frogs, or Pumpkin Toadlets.
For the pet breeding box I was thinking of temporary snake box for snake babies. They are always grabbing a random box or a mug to hold the babies while they cut the eggs.
