@@BrettPapa I would love to see instruction on the rhythm parts you are playing... chord structures and how you are fretting them. PLEASE!! lol No really though... please
its okay, but i don't really hear ANYTHING special about this Fletcher guy, but whatever... and I am a very humble guy, player and judge of all... Mixolydian unison lines, ez peezy, japaneezy...Minor #9 brother! They make it sound like kirk is the only person on the planet that can play like Jimi, or R&B style...Mayfield? BB King, etc... Give me a break...Ha!
Never had the chance to see BB King live, but I saw Kirk Fletcher for the 1st time live... A life changer... So much feeling and musicality... Kirk is "my BB King" 🙂
Omg You are my hero man.The way you play is just effortlessly awesome and you are such a cool guy ! I live in St Louis would love to see you play here the River City has got the blues a great music town.I love Bb also.
Kirk is such an encyclopedia and wealth of knowledge, and you're no slouch either Brett. Both send me to the woodshed everytime I watch you. Thanks for another great show and guest.
The great thing about the blues is that there really is so much you can do with it. There's so much you can say and you can say it YOUR way. I think every blues player has THEIR blues. It's just a language with which to communicate. And you can take little parts of players who came before as the building blocks of a language you can use to express yourself.
Saw Kirk Fletcher in his 3 piece [ hammond organ no bass ] down under a few years ago.. Kirk is one of worlds top blues guitarist and took the audience through almost 60 years of blues from the 40s till the new millenium.
Well...some folks just know what they're doing, and do it so perfectly they themselves know it. Welcome to what America's is all about folks. Love, diversity, friendship, and great talented folks. Love you guys! Brett's vids on Hendricks are also insanely good! Thanks Brett and friends!
Hey Brett, everything Kirk plays just flows and his soloing just fits perfectly with what you were playing like you guys practiced for hours, totally unmatched. I love this guy.
Kirk is such a lovely man. Wish I had his laid back vibe and amazing musicality. First came across him playing with Charlie Musselwhite. Brett sounds as stoned as me 😂😂
Man o man this is just the best blues lesson- Kirk makes it seem accessible even though he is clearly a master. I love his "less talking more listening " comment. Such a warm humble man .Thanks to him and to Brett for sharing this. Ps what I wouldn't give to see him in Nashville!
You are knocking it outta the park with great guests. I personally would never get tired of Jack Ruch. And Jack Pearson would be the cats ass. I really enjoy what you do. Thanx Brett
Reminds me of when I was first starting to learn the guitar and somebody gave me the Mickey Baker Guitar Book, which was just page after page of jazz chords. It took me about a week to realize I was a harmonica player.
I echo the sentiments of those who've commented that Kirk's lead playin and phrasing is incredible, but I would add that Brett is backing him beautifully here (and on other video lessons, as well) with fantastic crisp, tasteful rhythm guitar. (and BTW, the lead playing I've heard from Brett is amazing as well)
im a new player and im just now realizing how much i underestimated the value of the these kinds of interviews. lesson vids, and just listening to music is great for learning, but man just listening to to players go back and forth is such a wealth of knowledge drops i dont think better players notice. The vibrato trick of using the guitar weight isnt something id have thought of myself, but to them it just a "oh well yeah theres that too" kind of thing.
Others have mentioned the word, "Joy." That's one thing I took away from this was the joy that comes through Kirk's playing. It's all fun, as it should be. Great, super practical lesson!
I’m a fairly new player but have been going over and over The Thrill is Gone. Before I could play and just now letting it come through in so many other ways.
Kirk is so professional , but he seems so laid back. I’d pay to just have a cup of coffee with him and talk about the weather.
He is such a good dude!
"I'm not worried. I got no where to be." - priceless!
Kirk is such a joy to watch playing. Such a humble and kind soul. Glad to see him on your channel!
More coming soon!
Man would really like to see Kirk and Jack Rush together!!
