I'm not going to lie: I did not want this video to end. Kirk seems like such a down to earth kind of guitarist and it's really refreshing to see someone who plays so well and remains so humble at the same time. Loads of good vibes!
Joe Marcos - When I was young, I fell hard for Blues guitar. I received my first guitar when I was 10 and I found, almost immediately, that playing made my lonely days less so, my headaches not hurt so much, and my sorrow at the loss of loved ones not so debilitating. Kirk’s playing touches off so many wonderful feelings inside. I think if the world could experience someone playing music like that, this world would finally know a global day of peace!
People say Kirk seems so down to earth, such a nice guy.. Well, he is, and the 'cool' you see, is natural and just his way.. He is one of those players who inspire. If you met him, he is the same out at a gig, or club, as you see now. The only difference is you see him in from of you. He is truly a kind and generous person and inspires all who meets him. One of the most supportive genuine persons I have encountered in the industry.
Soon as he spoke, I went in to relax mode. What a voice! My musical diet has another ingredient in the form of this guy. Thank you for bring that to my attention!
I’m 60 and just started my electric guitar playing journey…I wished this gentleman could come by my house and teach me how to play like he does …and pick his brain of knowledge some…
I didn't know Kirk at all. Just saw him for the first time and heard his voice. His style of music, his way of playing the blues in a manifold way, gave me again more inspirations. Especially also by the sound of his guitar and: his voice. Oh yes, I am 69 years old. Bought a used Telecaster MIM and got lucky with it. Am totally in love with it. Thanks for the information and stay well. Regards Volker
Kirk is a great blues player. What I love is his overdrive tone is an extension of his clean tone using mainly the guitar volume to overdrive the amp. Also his days in the swing bands has really paid off giving him a great sense of rhythm. He can sing well too. Kirk and Robben Ford are it for me.
Found my new favorite guitar player through a guest appearance on Brett Papa RUclips Channel, now I can’t stop checking out Fletchers playing his playing and tone is perfect to my ears
Not only a brilliant guitarist and stylist, but easily the most charming guy on the circuit today. A joy to listen to and a joy to be in conversation with. Thanks, Guitarist Magazine!
I agree with what so many others have said here in the Comments: this interview and his playing could've gone on all day long and I would've watched every minute of it, never wanting it to end.
What a relaxed, exquisite, and technically masterful playing style. I could listen to him play all day. Would love to see him play live. Thank you for posting this. 🎸🙂
Inspiration for having all the shit together! Just above, I saw somebody commenting on his humble paddle board, for such a giant. "Simplicity, the ultimate sophistication."
Man fantastic tone! I'm more of a strat guy but Kirk makes the tele sing with so much character! I'm so impressed by the warmth he can get out of his guitar.
Kirk is such a positive guy so sweet and positive vibe kinda guy, i like your playbing also. Your the kinda guy you want to spend time with all the time when your down, he is so positive.h3 makes your day. Thanks kirk 👍👍👍
@@matthewhorizon6050 yeah. I dont think his technique is particularly "clean". Even so, its kind of a weird thing to point out in a comment like that lol.
Finally, a guy who plays those licks as **melodies,** not licks. Straight from the heart. No wankery, just honest, straight up blues. Jeepers. Love the tele, as well.
Why would anyone dislike this video? I can only assume they're not guitarists and don't like music, but then why watch it in the first place! Crazy people out there
Not familiar with Kirk Fletcher but he seems like an awesome player and a great guy. Very down to earth and according to this video he gets a ton of sounds out of a really simple setup. Impressive!
TexasTornado187 - Dennis Haysbert...played the Sergeant Major on the series The Unit. Also played Pres. Palmer on 24. But I don’t think he sounds like anybody but Kirk Fletcher.
THANK YOU! Hadn't heard this guy before. Now I will look for more of his music. I will also support his career by " Buying some if his music!!" If we don't support them. They tend to go away! Thanx again.
"it depends on the mood" - Kirk is a fantastic player and a very nice guy. (The pedalboard is small and fine - Kirk is playing with his feeling for vibrato....so very good!) Thanx fo Mike Landau - he is doin' the support for Kirk!
You can tell he loves them humbuckers. I love my Gibson SG's for the same reason... so full and meaty yet so clean and clear.... with a warmed up tube sound it is so satisfying!
watched a buddy guy video many years ago where he showed how he would play finger style with a pick jammed in a crease in his palm, to switch it up, with the pick ready to go at moments notice. The trick was in switching between the two and not dropping them on stage when switching.
RUclips Suggested videos was finally helpful. This Kirk Fletcher video and one of him demonstrating the Fender Deluxe Tonemaster popped up on my feed today.
Funny, that Moo Moo guitar goes off in his hands and he leans back laughing, like YUP, I just spanked this guitar for y’all ... 🤘🎸🎸 Humble and wicked good, nice interview format 👍
The world is a better place with Kirk Fletcher in it.
I'm not going to lie: I did not want this video to end. Kirk seems like such a down to earth kind of guitarist and it's really refreshing to see someone who plays so well and remains so humble at the same time. Loads of good vibes!
Chris Kopin met him norms super cool
I can second that. Never met in person, communicated very briefly online, just a real human being. Props.
@Chris Kopin, #Exactly!! Anybody with a good sense of wot #TheBlues should be like wouldn't want this kinda thing to ever end just like that!! 👍👑
He's a friend of a friend and a great guy and fun to hang with!
Why would you have lied?
This is long overdue. The guys touch is incredible.
I will not lie, today my day was so sad, so depressing, this video, so inspiring, made me really happy, contagious and inspiring, God bless you all

JoeyJoelBand - Thank you for that commentary, Joey. Knowing that his persona matches his playing is affirming. Again, thank you!
What a lovely person Kirk is.....and a great blues player too....what more do you want.....cheers..
That tone. That playing. Just perfect. And what a nice down to earth guy.
The way he speaks and carries himself just makes me smile. Great humble dude, amazing guitarist.
Ian Cochrane I’m really with you. No bs. Just a great player and nice guy.
Tone and touch. Kirk is a listener, obviously. Seen him backing many greats; He is a headliner now; very well deserved. Humble, fresh, and passionate.
What a ray of sunshine this guy is. Thank you for posting.

It's a great thing when you hear someone play so natural and fresh and alive and you get to discover it all over again.

Although most give up after a week.

Kirk Fletcher is my favorite living guitarist. His tone is just my favorite. That mulan tele is amazing it looks like a tele and sounds like a 335.

My blues playing had been going nowhere for a while until I saw this video.
Fantastic individual. A very generous person in sharing his technique with us. Thank you Kirk.
That was the cleanest shit I've ever heard.
Cristian Romero I do hope there was a compliment in that somewhere. Lol
what do you mean by clean? as in, he has clean technique?

Been listening to the new album on repeat, and Kirk is quickly turning into one of my favorite blues players!

Great job. Love the BLUES
He's an amazing player and isn't as recognised as his talent deserves
He has played with everybody

TexasTornado187 - Yep
The Clouds Have Eyes as silly as that sounds, you’re correct!!!
