Lifey, in the north of Brazil and in Rio de Janeiro the sound of "S" is similar to European Portuguese.

Rarely we find foreingners talking about us
In Rio, Pernambuco and other places we pronounce the “s” like “sh”. Estar for us in Rio is “eshtar”.
Always nice to hear about your culture, language or country from a foreign perspective. What I found unique in this video is the mere fact of mentioning the different accents we have here in Brazil. And yes, the gaucho Bah! is a trademark, really cool to hear about it.

I know that in Rio at Southeast and Belém at North the "s" sounds "Sh" kind in Portugal style, and in several Northeast parts the tone of "Di" like the word "Dia" sounds near european style as well
