Skiff has clarified their statement on their website to say that Skiff Mail will only operate as a dedicated inbox for 6 months. Only automatic mail forwarding will continue to operate for a 12-month sunset period. So for those of us who set up Skiff on a custom domain, you have 6 months to migrate away.
I think you should reconsider your position on Proton Mail and learn more about their privacy. Every company in the world has to comply with warrants from the country they have their legal jurisdiction in. In Proton's case, a court ordered Proton to hand over all information about the activist to the police because he was accused of serious crimes with enough evidence to prove it. All Proton could give them in return was an IP address. This is not an L but a W for Proton because they could prove that they have little to nothing to give because they store little to nothing (every service needs to know your IP address, this is why Proton suggests using a VPN with their service if this is a concern). Proton is pretty transparent about these things, what they can (or have to) give. One advantage of being based in Switzerland is that there are no gag orders like in the US, which can force a company not to tell its users when they have to comply/build in a backdoor, and Switzerland still has no legal way to force companies to order VPN companies to give them information.
Appreciate this perspective. I’ve been a bit conflicted about Proton Mail, but I have been testing it over the past week and think I am going end up switching to it. It ultimately is the best private email platform functionally.
I just started migrate to Skiff about a month ago and honestly I am glad I am also using email forwarding/alias service as well. So I don't have to change all login all over again....
i was on this stream when it was live as i said there, i'll say it here too -- it's time to run my own mailservers. i might consider zoho, but after skiff's downfall, idk if i can trust any of those companies anymore
I made the biggest dumb fucl mistake ever bc of this smh....was tryn to be proactive and change my email on a password manager wellll lost access to my 2fa have the backup but its not that it's the password and i basically remember the password I'm just off by some combination....I know how to brute force stuff like the screen lock or webpages but tbh idk how to get to the app if that makes sense. Like how do I direct it the 2fs app screen? Would be thankful if anyone knows and can help me un f myself 🙏 really just need to know how to direct my attack to specific app screens
I’m not sure which “greedy” RUclipsrs you are watching, but I can tell you that I never take money from a brand in exchange for “good reviews.” I will never do a “review” for a brand that sponsors a video, and my sponsored videos are always disclosed. In fact, Skiff has never sponsored a video and did not offer an affiliate program, so I never made a dime from them. But I would love to know who these “greedy” RUclipsrs are.

Yep. It’s so important if you aren’t going to use a major host like Google or Microsoft.
Skiffs email forwarding does not work well. I’m missing lots of emails that have been sent to my Skiff address.

If you are still testing to do this ask someone on a Reddit group under privacy and open source sections and they may help you
