Ray spending hours examining every single fucking dust particle in a temple, but refusing to spend more than 5 seconds listening/reading dialog that will tell him exactly where to go is just peak streamer.
Ray venting his frustration over having to find Isshin only to be utterly confused when he suddenly is spotted through the wall is great.
Part 2 is here! Let's fucking go! Also, Ray, you can always send the super long vods. Watching all of it no matter what.
25:00 Yay Ray learned posture recovery!
And then never used it again!
Ill always be amazed by peoples inability to read stuff the game forces you to read
@@Helldragon789 Posture recovery being faster whilst guarding isn't a forced read pop-up. Its a pop-up on the side of the screen in the middle of a fight (I hope I'm wrong about this because I genuinely can only find this as a side pop-up). Besides, its hard to retain information without extra context and experience, especially when you have other things to focus on/being dumped on you at the same time.
Ray's ability to over search one area thinking there must be something there while not thinking to take a closer look elsewhere is certainly something lol. Checks every damn wall in the place a dozen times, but will just run through others without looking around corners or over ledges.
1:20:43 Ray saying “progress” as the snake’s perilous attack symbol appears = Priceless
I’m so happy Ray actually likes this. Hopefully more soulslikes?!
Ray, moments after being told the tree no longer exists "Yah, we gotta go to the back and find a tree".
Ray beat the 4 monkey really well. I remember beating my head against the wall trying to figure out the invisible one. Good Job Ray.
these games are too hard/frustrating for me, but watching Ray play is a lot of fun
It absolutely is. It’s been fun as hell watching him play this game. There are some boss fights I can’t wait to see him get to
I DO like the long VODs cause it gives me so much to watch during work, but I hate having to wait til they come out. So I'm satisfied either way
Really impressed by how well Ray has been doing, I'm glad he's enjoying this
@ray regarding monkey booze; here in new zealand theres there's a type of pigeon that likes to eat fruit that ferments in the sun and turns into alcohol. its very common to see them absolutely shitfaced. they're big fat drunk bastards and we love them so much they were bird of the year in 2018 lmao
MONKEY TIME! Probably the second coolest phase transition From Software has done so far. Only beaten by Ludwig.
Part 1 kept me entertained throughout most of my work week, really solid vid to put on to pass any downtime👍
Love seeing the comparison of the first and second videos. Ray is going for all the ballsy parries in this one.
I love that Ray's doing a full playthrough of this. Definitely a hard game so I appreciate that Stream Dad is playing it for those of us who aren't skilled enough
I love the longer vods but as somone who has NO idea how youtube monitization is, even if this is 3 parts of 30 parts Id rather the videos that are best for your income.
It's a bit late of a response I apologize, but from experience, longer VODs tend to be better for monetization. I think youtube only pays out ads if people watch the full ad. The longer the vod, the more likely people are to just either fall asleep with the VOD running, have it open on a tv in the background, or have it open on a second monitor. It also depends on ad timing, but that's how I see it. That being said, the main thing is how many eyes are on the video. If people aren't watching then it doesn't matter how long the VOD is, and I get the feeling Ray is looking for viewer enjoyment over optimizing revenue.
Ray is doing SO well with this game, I’m really impressed because I’ve heard this game is one of the hardest Frommsoft games. It’s making me want to give it a go lol!
Necro’ing this. You can argue that it’s the hardest or the easiest depending on how you want to look at it. Hardest because you can’t just get stuck on a boss and then go grind levels or weapon upgrades to brute force your way past something. But because the game is more or less linear From knew what tools you have and how powerful you were going to be at any given boss so it’s better balanced cause there is essentially only one playstyle and you either get it or don’t. It’s really dangerous DDR basically.
Difficulty is always so subjective, some bosses are just hard for some and others they can one shot them. Like Smelter demon in DS2 was a roadblock for so many and it was one of my favourite fights.
Don't let the notoriety of any From game deter you from trying them, they are all reasonable for the most part.
They do reward patience, in that if you learn from loss you will flourish.
Here we go boi’s!!!
I’m glad he is enjoying this masterpiece of a game! And yes longer videos please, especially with Sekiro
Side note, it’s still a travesty they never released DLC for this game like they have for other FromSoft games
the three inner bosses + the 4 gauntlets they added post launch are sick with Inner Owl I think being the best fight in the game but yeah... If only we had something akin to the ringed city dlc for Sekiro
@@flash-sn3ngA time travel DLC dealing with Tomoe and her journey west would have been so cool. Would loved to have fought Tomoe in the past
Finally able to sit and watch through this, i was hoping that ray hadn’t been aware of a certain bosses phase 2 and it would’ve taken him by surprise, still happy to see him enjoying the game, it’s making me want to try the game out, if maybe only at a discount 😅
Loved part 1 but 11 hours did take me all day to watch 🤣I will never complain at more content to watch though!
Me personally, i like the longer uploads! They're perfect for watching on a empty sunday!
I just finished part 1 not 20 minutes ago so this is perfect.
Like many people have said, it is wild watching Ray examine some areas dozens of times, and then fly past other areas with barely a second glance. In the first vod, I was so frustrated watching him say 'I don't know where to go' while completely ignoring several locations
I love longer vods I put it on my TV while I sleep
personally I'm more on team shorter vods more parts closer to when they were actually streamed, but a super big chonker is ok from time to time depending on the game
With a longer game like this I’m very okay with a longer part 1 and normal vods after. It’s a good format
Afaik, Bite Down and the Hidden Tooth have a niche use for boss fights (or I guess in general). After death and you resurrect, there's a black line through your remaining revives. Normally you remove this line by performing a deathblow. During a boss fight when you have more revives (and ideally very low health) you can use the item to die (some bosses back off and give you distance after death) and then resurrect again. An extra half health bar may not do much, but it can give some people the little extra they need. I suppose it may also clear terror and other status ailments, allowing you to die and resurrect as opposed to dying to the status and staying dead. It's very situational
I think the longer format vods are good I just never have time so usually wait for the comp highlights if it’s a game I enjoy. Kinda like a preview
Baja Blast shirt as I’m drinking a Baja Blast! Let’s go!!!!
Parts are better than a 11h super long upload imho, but do as you wish ✌🏻
1:54:11 DK.... Donkey Kong!
Ray playing Sekiro reminded me I own it on Xbox and finally made me jump in, so far getting my ass kicked, but making progress like with every Souls games I've played. Will likely have to put it down soon as Elden Ring DLC is on the way, and I don't think I will finish it before them.
It's a shame that you can't see the chat most of the time because watching them gnash their teeth at Ray beating the infamous monkeys puzzle boss in ten minutes was hilarious, as well as their reaction to the earlier monkey mob massacre.
Given the amount of trouble a single lone shadow gave ray he's going to hate the late game.
Also if he'd remembered the anti air deathblow he could've won in 30 seconds.
watching Ray play this makes me itchy XD
Finished part 1 just in time for part 2!
Perfect background play while shiny hunting Shaymin
Update: got it 😁
YAY More Sekiro!!
Given that this is 6 days late, Ray or Tina, if you do happen to see this, I think Ray would really enjoy Bloodborne. It's in the fast paced, reaction based combat category for Fromsoft like Sekiro. Much less focus on environment exploration like Dark Souls or Elden Ring, and more on the "follow this path til the end then go to the next path over".
I really think Ray would enjoy it quite a bit. Especially with the quick thinking strategies you often have to impliment.
Can't believe Ray beat the hardest boss in the game first try
The monkey boss is what made me quit. I couldn't...
Has Ray ever played Furi? His mention of Sekiro being a rhythm game brought it to mind.
I like how Ray doesn't know how hard the game is going to get soon
Keep em coming bayyybe
Excuse me a fucking Northernlion name drop in my Ray vod?? “If it’s good for NL it’s good for me” 48:30
Hey ray idk if you saw it yet or not but you can request access from biorand for RE4 remake randomizer
1:52:06
Missed the tutorial about the Jump Kick mechanic haha
Impressive to beat mist noble on the first try
lol
Did it click for Ray that Issin is Tengu from the castle gates that taught him the Ashina art of the blade?
Ah yes guardian ape... afrosenju has eternal beef with this guy 😂😂 kinda sad phase 2 wasn't a surprise to him it would have been amazing
Haven't watched the VOD yet but I hope he goes for the severance ending, I need him to see Fountainhead
1:20:53 Classic Ray moment 😂
3:21:04 Rick Flair whiffed it 😂 swing and a miss
To the game’s credit, the small arenas aren’t usually a problem. Ray’s playstyle in this game and most games is aggressive but extremely cautious when he makes any mistakes, so when he gets hit he retreats backwards hard and fast and because enemies pursue so fast in this game, he ends up cornering himself. Still kinda the game’s fault, but not completely
Ughh yess
Sekiro: Shadows Dither about!
I like Dragonrot as a concept, it's just tricky for new players. Maybe make it a feature of NG+, gives another reason to replay.
it's just a punishment for dying repeatedly and can be fixed by using the dragonblood droplet at the statues and by not dying, very simple solutions to a minor inconvenience.
@@ghastlyanarchy1720 I think they mean conceptually. They wish it was more punishing.
@@dancinginfernal
How much more punishing can it get really? We don't lose much upon death as is.
@@ghastlyanarchy1720 It was originally conceived with the idea that, with continued neglect, the NPC would die.
@dancinginfernal indeed. But seeing as how that is no longer the case, it is an annoying bump in the road that can be ignored
I put the Yakuza vods in a playlist after I finish each game to watch so longer vods are cool but smaller vods are probably better for the people who missed a stream or watch same day they're uploaded, while long vod goblins can just playlist/queue the videos.
Massive props to Ray for just exploring himself and figuring out where to go when lost instead of looking it up, really tests how good the game is at guiding the player, in this case it doesn’t really do the best xD
Honestly it does a pretty good job, nobody just pays attention to the fucking dialogue lol Ray refused to listen to Kuro explain anything
ray's getting good at this game, 100% played off screen or somethin whatever that guy said last stream
I like the smaller vids because 1) if I miss the first stream I can watch on RUclips and then maybe catch the second part on stream and feel caught up. And 2) I like the daily content, rather than waiting a few days with nothing becore a big upload
Really like long vods.
I listen to your videos and don't really watch (Unless I hear you start laughing excessively).
First!(maybe)
