This is the very first sone I ever heard that I remember hearing.. I was a really young kid,,I was in bed, radio was on, I woke up to this playing, I remember this feeling it gave me.. the one you get when you wake up to something beautiful. Can’t really describe it. But I remember it.. I know I heard music before this.. but it was the first time I had a favorite song I was probably about 8 yrs old
Uriah Heep was one of the heavy British bands that came out in the late 60's a long with, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. This song is the intro to their fantasy album "demons and wizards". When Ozzy went solo (1980) after Black Sabbath, the bass player and drummer from this band joined him...
T, if I understood anything about your open mindness and your musical tastes, you're gonna absolutely love most of Uriah Heep's 1970s songs. Musically, I like to define them as sort of "Deep Purple with a touch of magic on top". Vocally though, they just had no rivals: their brilliant harmonized vocals are what really set them apart and I'm convinced they had some serious influence on another wonderful band like Queen, at least vocal wise. My suggestions are the following, and it's just for starters: Easy Livin' Sunrise July Morning Look At Yourself The Magician's Birthday Sweet Freedom Paradise / The Spell Happy Heeping and keep up the good work!
URIAH HEEP, "WIZARD".. ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS..SAW THEM WITH MANFRED MANN. IN 1973 DANE COUNTY COLISEUM IN MADISON WISCONSIN... WAS SUPERB...MORE "MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY". "SWEET LORAINE",
Tragically, a few people in this video have passed away... lead singer David Byron, rhythm guitarist Ken Hensley and drummer Lee Kerslake (R.I.P)... Kerslake was also the drummer on the 1st 2 Ozzy Osbourne albums - 'Blizzard of Ozz' & 'Diary of a madman'. Uriah Heep was formed in the UK in the late 60's... guitarist Mick Box is the only original member left. Current vocalist is Bernie Shaw and the band still records & tours...
It's really, really sad to think that four of the five fine musicians you can see in this video are no longer with us. This includes the very talented bass player Gary Thain, who passed away in 1975. Uriah Heep, especially in their first 6 / 7 years of existence, were a marvelous band and produced a few must-have studio albums during the 70s.
Well done finding Uriah Heep, named after a character in the Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield. I really like their album. Demons and Wizards and have always thought of them as sort of folk/rock with a sort of medieval/spiritual world feel. Great band.
Im a 64 year hold heeper. Seen them on sept 14-1974 at Moody Colosseum in Dallas Tx. the night bass player Gary Thain got electrocuted. Would you please give the Uriah Heep Live album a listen. Its one of the best live recordings to come out of the 70's and still holds its own now. It was recorded in 73'. Thank you for helping out the 70's.
The context these 70’s songs gives you definitely makes your reactions of other genres much better because you can see and hear the threads that bind all this music together.
YES!!!! You’re the first to react to Uriah, my dad introduced me to this band on a reel to reel player and I’ve loved them since. This is so awesome that you’re getting a taste of this long forgotten band!!!
Try their 2nd album Salisbury which was the name of the album and the 16min song, my personal favorite by Uriah Heep, their first 6 albums were so different and unique.. Another great English import that the states are only now realizing what they missed out on… Ken Hensley their Keyboardist and main song writer died recently so please play it for him…
The first 5 albums or so are "classic heep". They also had a track in the early 80's i liked called "Too Scared to Run". They even played it last time i saw them.
Easy Livin' is the most well known track by the band as it entered the top 40 back in 1972. Other good tracks to check out are Gypsy, Look At Yourself, the epic July Morning, Lady In Black, Circle Of Hands and Sunrise.
The album that inspired my art.... The entire album is bent towards spirituality, but the sound and vocals/meanings, was/is absolutely beautiful rock !!! ❤
T, Try "Paradise/The Spell." It starts out very slow like a ballad, but you'll get so many tempo changes it's brilliant !! Pretty long though, but worth it.
Check out the band The Gods which had future Uriah Heep members Lee Kerslake and Ken Hensley. They released two albums: Genesis (1968) and To Samuel a Son (1969). You can hear a similarity between the two bands, especially with vocals.
T, my man, been watching and that lovely lady a lot this weekend. I notice with the lyrics in front you are RIGHT THERE singing with it first time. I suggest BIRD OF PREY and GYPSY, EASY LIVING as equally a love song as a Christian song. I love your journey I remember these songs and those times and although there is no race, just culture IT IS SO WONDERFUL to see our cultures all of us united by this wonderrful music of these mega musicians who opened our minds and hearts both. I love my reaction channel music buddies you and your wonderfully beautiful wife are amongst my favorites with DP, Faleena, Tom Jones I subscribed long ago and someday I hope I can be a Patreon
I commented on your stealin reaction. You must listen to Lady in Black by Uriah Heep. Also Uriah Heep took their name from a character in a Dickens novel
when i was a teen, i discovered uriah heep at a gas station bargain tape rack on the way to the rocky mountains.. was perfect for my long haird dreamy butt on that vacation
@@JB-xh5mc , the thing most folks don't realize.....that song was written by Shorty Medlock (1912-1982), Ricky Medlocks grandpa and Shorty played the harmonica on the cut with Ricky doing lead vocals and guitar. Who the hell gets to cut a Top 20 song with their grandpa?......and Shorty played the SHIT out of that harmonica! Most folks don't realize that Ricky Medlock has done two different stints with Lynyrd Skynyrd (1971-1973) and 1996-Present. Shorty was 67 years old when that track was cut! Incredible. T & Tasha need to do a reaction.
Hi man ! Great Great song ! I just found your channel and I agree with your summary..You seem like a great guy with an open mind to listen to my 50 yr old hippy music with me..Thanks I will subscribe !!
Hello T! First of all, I like your vids! you seem to be a cool guy, and watching you enjoiy the music of the 70's (that I'm currently discovering too) is bringing joy to me. I saw you fall in love with ME262 of BÖC (one of my favorite band btw), so I would recommand you to try and listen to other of their classics, but I'll suggest one for a start : 7 screaming diz busters. If this doesn't blow your mind, I don't know what will! Also, I would like to see you react to some Rainbow. This band's so epic, and I do think that you'd enjoy it too. Especially tracks like Stargazer, that are absolutely mind blowing. Anyway, hope you see my comment! Peace!
I think you can´t much compare Heep to Purple... UH´s sounds are vastly wider and richer. i think no other band has ever made such good tracks with the variety of sounds, as Heep did. I mean, July Morning, Lady in Black, Rain, Salisbury, Circus, The Park, Look at yourself, Firefly, A year or a Day etc etc ... these songs could have been made by 7 different bands... and excellent each! thanks Heep for so many hour of pleasure listening to your music in my life
Have you ever redacted to iron butterfly ? In the gadda da vida if you haven't check it out. It was supposed to be In the garden of edan. But there were so stoned when they recorded it. This how it ended up.
I've been catching up on your Megadeth reactions and was wondering if you have heard of the band Sepultra, chaos a.d is a great album to explore...thanks for what you're doing 🤘😛🤘
Back in the day - it was albums - not songs (for me). The Demons and Wizards album (not the deluxe version but the original) is one that should be listened to in its entirety. The sum is even greater than the parts. It would be like trying to listen to Rick Wakeman's Journey To The Center of the Earth one song at a time - shouldn't be done. All or nothing (for me).
I heard some of our subs complaining about this happening. Im not sure what to do about it because many of our subs complain about not getting notifications when we go live or do jam session.
Here is another one for you. Paradise/The Spell By Uriah Heep. ruclips.net/video/5WVrGCa02IA/видео.html Also check out their song 'Tales' from The Magicians birthday. ruclips.net/video/BGN2yQdHACM/видео.html
URIAH HEEP simply BRITISH LEGENDS

Look At Yourself, Easy Livin', Rainbow Demon they have a very deep catalog as they are still recording, and working on a new album this year.

Well done finding Uriah Heep, named after a character in the Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield. I really like their album. Demons and Wizards and have always thought of them as sort of folk/rock with a sort of medieval/spiritual world feel. Great band.
Smiling 😃 too!! Love Uriah Heep! All of the choices I would have chosen are already mentioned. Thanks, T
for the Country Music journey check out Leann Womack's " I Hope You Dance" the girls in the video are her daughters, Wonderful message
lots of original melodies and harmonies in those old songs.
My "CB" handle back in the 70s was "Rainbow Demon" from the album.
Great reaction. the bass player is Gary Thain, from christchurch, new zealand
Fridaynight in Birmingham.the opener from the Livealbum is my Favorit
I freaking LOVED Uriah Heep! Saw them in concert 5 or 6 times. Or mostly saw them, anyhow. Between the acid and the MDA,I was seeing a LOT of stuff.
I love this band, their early stuff was just fantastic… Their early lineup was ass kicking!
Im a 64 year hold heeper. Seen them on sept 14-1974

Stay Awesome Thank You
Come away Melinda, an amazing song, very emotional song. Uriah Heep is one of most underrated rock bands ever. A very versatile band. Love my Heep!
Uriah Heep Steelin' , Lady in Black are two great tunes from these guys
The context these 70’s songs gives you definitely makes your reactions of other genres much better because you can see and hear the threads that bind all this music together.
YES!!!! You’re the first to react to Uriah, my dad introduced me to this band on a reel to reel player and I’ve loved them since. This is so awesome that you’re getting a taste of this long forgotten band!!!
Really nice to see someone listening this track the first time 😊
One of my all time favorites, such a feel good song! I agree T, the older stuff has a quality and charm that newer stuff lacks, to my ear at least!
I loved Uriah Heep.
The album Magicians Birthday was really good.
One of my favorites from Uriah Heep. Used to listen to this in the service.
Very nice!
Good one Scott. Nice to see a follow up for Uriah Heep
Try their 2nd album Salisbury which was the name of the album and the 16min song, my personal favorite by Uriah Heep, their first 6 albums were so different and unique.. How cool, I have known these guys since I was 14, great people. I get together and jam with Micks son pretty regular.
And try listening to "Acoustically Driven" the whole concert is a piece of art
Great song
Uriah heep - the spell. is a very underrated but so well done. One of my favorites that no one reacts too
The first 5 albums or so are "classic heep". They also had a track in the early 80's i liked called "Too Scared to Run". They even played it last time i saw them.
July morning by uriah heep is great

Ken Hensley was a freaking Legend may he drink wine share tales and forever feel fine RIP
Bless you T. I love this song, it makes me feel so many different emotions.
July Morning. Best version is off the 1973 Live album.
The album that inspired my art.... The entire album is bent towards spirituality, but the sound and vocals/meanings, was/is absolutely beautiful rock !!! ❤
Great album. Another fantastic song off this album is Circle of Hands.
T, Try "Paradise/The Spell." It starts out very slow like a ballad, but you'll get so many tempo changes it's brilliant !! Pretty long though, but worth it.
OMG ! I have a story from 1974 or 75
Check out the band The Gods which had future Uriah Heep members Lee Kerslake and Ken Hensley. They released two albums: Genesis (1968) and To Samuel a Son (1969). You can hear a similarity between the two bands, especially with vocals.
Uriah Heep is amazing. Check out Beautiful Dream from the Return to Fantasy album. A true hidden gem.
Rainbow Demon, Bird of Prey, Gypsy, Lady in Black , Look at Yourself

Gypsy, Bird of Prey and Time to Live are somewhat more Deep Purple style harder rock songs.
Your smile says it all cobba. Check out some early Aussie bands, Midnight Oil, "beds are Burning. Little River Band, "Cool Change"👏
when i was a teen, i discovered uriah heep at a gas station bargain tape rack on the way to the rocky mountains.. was perfect for my long haird dreamy butt on that vacation
Love Uriah Heep! For the ultimate crazy hammond organ sound listen to their song "Gypsy".
Their newer stuff is just as awesome as their early stuff!
you should dive deeper into the heep: "gypsy", "july morning", "look at yourself", "easy living" ....... and many more.
Check out "Lady In Black" when you get the chance. Killer song!
Try Easy Livin'. I think Blackfoot did a great cover of it too if I'm not mistaken.
Blackfoot is terribly underrated. I love Train, Train.
@@steventweed3599 That is a massive track by Blackfoot.
@@JB-xh5mc , the thing most folks don't realize.....that song was written by Shorty Medlock (1912-1982), Ricky Medlocks grandpa and Shorty played the harmonica on the cut with Ricky doing lead vocals and guitar.

Hi man ! Great Great song ! I just found your channel and I agree with your summary..You seem like a great guy with an open mind to listen to my 50 yr old hippy music with me..Thanks I will subscribe !!
July morning is a classic by Uriah heep can you play that one.
I would've chosen "Gypsy," myself. But still a good tune, just on the mellower side of UH.
Once again this shows how talented the band were back in the 60s and 70s were, and how diluted the bands are today.
Heep load of quality there T! Nice one Scott
SONO CONTENTO CHE TI PIACE QUESTA CANZONE ANDAVA QUANDO IO AVEVO 14 ANNI
If your on this journey down the 60-70 rabbit hole…Little Feat live version of Spanish Moon from the Waiting for Columbus album.
how about reacting to The Magician's Birthday by Uriah Heep that will take you on a spiritual journey
Magicians Birthday another
Heep blew me away the first time I heard them. I actually like some of the slower stuff like The Park and Lady in Black as well.
No wasp Wednesday yesterday

UH very underated at the time. Really the starters of Prog Rock. Tull, ELP, Yes, King Crimson etc. Great choice for UH but the earlier songs go deeper
