I was 17, in the Army and stationed in Heidelberg, Germany . February 1972, me and my two buddies saw them in the Stadthalle, the old town hall building with the most amazing acoustics. Amazing show. We were so high, we wandered the town till sunup, lost, unable to find our way back to the barracks. I saw them again in May at a 3-day outdoor festival, the 2nd British Rock Meet (est. 600,00 people) where they opened for Pink Floyd. They were my favorite band for many years and I still listen to them to this day. I have to admit, they sound even better with the symphony.
Just founding member Mick Box and Bernie Shaw, Heep vocalist since 1987, so I assume the rest of musicians were playing various Classic songs with maybe band members from the acts chosen to be part of the event, which loks something special. One of the great Uriah Hep songs played live still as it is truly a classic.
Bernie Shaw and Phil Lanzon both joined in 1985-86. Drummer Lee Kerslake (RIP) was replaced by Russel Gilbrook (he's a monster on his kit) and bassist Trevor Bolder (RIP) was replaced by Davey Rimmer. Mick Box is the only member left from the original 1969 band.
I wish when you did old bands you'd check out the original recordings instead of live versions 40+ years later. I think only one of the classic line-up members is in this version.
This probably their best song from their peak period. Seen this band so many times since 1971, and sung this song so many times with the band on the front rail. Great memories for a 71 year old.
This is cool and all plus rare to see a Uriah Heep reaction anywhere on youtube, but with only one original member, lead guitarist Mick Box, it's not the same as the original members doing it live back in 1973... There are Uriah Heep live performance videos from back then, including July Morning... Thumbs up anyways
I got to see them at the Shaefer Music Festival in Central Park in NYC in 74 or 75. Tickets were $2.50 ea. They were outstanding! Look online at the acts that played there. Incredible.
I cannot think of any music being better than Heep! But a few of the others are coming pretty close ... we hope for another Byron somewhere sometime in the future!
It looks like Mick Box only one left from the original band. Dave Presley lead the drummer the best player I remember are all dead but Mick Box still spuds good
öh yes this was amazing! but from the same concept it would be amazing for you to react to Thunder - Love Walked In from te same Rock Meets Classic thingy
Wolfhunterz and subcribers My fav band too!! URIAH HEEP with Saxon on US tour check locations start April 23 in Florida end June 2 in El Paso dont miss it they dont just play old stuff promoting new album Chaos and Color several cities check it out
NOT a cover band! Bernie Shaw and Phil Lanzon have been with them since 1985-86 and have co-written songs with Mick Box since then. Their 2023 album Chaos and Colour is one of their best in my view.
Too drawn out and way over dramatic! The original is so much better! One of their very best songs is Lady in Black. If you watch it listen closely to the words and make sure it's an older version. I am lucky enough to be going to the their concert this Sunday!!!!!
The sad thing is, this song, with it's great intensity, belongs to the world view of a young man and his tormented love life . To see an old bloke with a beer belly doing this is just pathetic.
Hey laughingbuda dumb shit. MY ‘so you call’ beer belly is the loss of abdominal muscle tension due to my prostate cancer operation l suffered from in 2013 which almost took my life. Stupid comments like yours just prove that you’re not a Heep fan as you don’t know any of our history. So read my comment , learn from it, or just fuck off. Bernie Shaw
It was my favorite band of early seventies.
Still recording and rocking and still my all time favourite band.
There will never be another David Byron (the original lead vocalist) RIP. He's voice was out of this world.
Thank you Uriah heep. I`m 61 and you made my youth. I will always love you
This beautiful song(with David Byron on lead vocals) is uriah heep's answere to deep purple's child in time!
I feel so sorry for Heep. So underated. Jesus the guys they had in that band. And then Byron.....The Voice.
But much better than Deep Purple.
Much more original music
URIAH HEEP British LEGENDS since 1969 till present
No more all have died except Box and. Newton are the only surviving fellows
You should listen to the original version that was recorded in Look at Yourself album.
Bernie´s great on many old Heep classics like this one. And been their vocalist for the longest time of them all, by far. Respect.

You have to see their live version of this from the 70's
This was surprisingly good but that version from that old live album was fantastic. "Friday night in Birmingham".
As a guitarist Mick Box is up there with Page, Blackmore, Hendrix, van Halen,Beck.
A great version I had not seen/heard before. Loved it. Thank you.

THAT WAS FANTASTIC!

Born of July 9 in the morning. Thanks and give more Heep!
Salisbury first song they did with orchestra is even better
Always loved July Morning! That'll get your blood pumping right there!
Hadn't heard this version before. Thanks!
You really should review the live version of the song 'Anastasia' by Slash ft. Miles kennedy and the conspiritors.. that's amazing!!!
Saw em a couple times in Atlanta. Once with Black Oak Arkansas. A band from that Era worth a listen. Still... crazy good live. Especially tripping...👀
Davide Byron originale voice Is great ❤❤❤

More HEEP
You need original lineup from way back when nit this as far as I'm concerned anyway
Try and find anything from way back where the soundtrack isn't crap, videos anyway. Almost impossible.
Heep is no more
this is a mick box tribute band
ok.
When only the guitarist is left from the original band, is it really Uriah Heep or basically just a Uriah Heep cover band at that point?
NOT a cover band! Bernie Shaw and Phil Lanzon have been with them since 1985-86 and have co-written songs with Mick Box since then. Their 2023 album Chaos and Colour is one of their best in my view.

Dude look at yourself

But did it sound ok.
The so called beer belly is irrelevant

@@bernieshaw5248 I don't know if you're Bernie or not, but right on brother! And sympathies on the loss of your wife. Keep up the good work!
Have you tired the original version that sung by David byron?
