The bass playing on this is outstanding, vocals and lyrics are exceptional as always and the sentiment is so poignant and timeless, such an underrated band, they had a way of magically hitting the nail on the head
OOOOHHH MAN, I HAD CHILLS ON THAT ONE…!!! ITS LIKE THEY GOT UR ARM IN THIERS, TALKIN TO YOU. THEN BAM …!!!! THAT BASS N DRUMS WAKE YOU UP. GARY THAIN N LEE KERSLAKE, POWERHOUSE. THEN AT THE END, THE BASS N DRUMS ARE SOLID, DUELING LEED GUITARS IN EACH EAR, THEN IN COMES THE PIANO N THE VOCALS WITH THE ICING ON. WOOOWWWW, REMEMBER WHEN THIS ALBUM CAME OUT, THINK I PLAYED THIS NONE STOP FOR A WEEK. IT IS STILL ONE OF MY TOP FIVE ALBUMS TO THIS DAY. BEING A DRUMMER MYSELF, I ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE BASS GUITAR N BASS DRUM. THEN EVERYTHING ELSE OVER TOP OF THAT. EASY LIVING, IS A GREAT UP TEMPLE SONG. WHILE PARADISE/THE SPELL, IS AN EPIC JOURNEY. BOTH A MUST HEAR FROM THE SAME ALBUM. GREAT REACTIONS, LUV TO SEE THOSE SMILES. ROCK ON 👊🖖
I may have posted this before, but I am a life long Heep fan since 1970 when I was sixteen years old. I saw them live in 1971 just as they released their Look at Yourself album. I saw them again in 2015 and 2018. They are still on the top of their game with current lead singer, Bernie Shaw, keyboardist and backup vocalist Phil Lanzon, drummer Russell Gilbrook, bassist David Rimmer, and of course the legendary Mick Box on lead guitar.
Heep has been one of my favorite bands since circa 70/71. I saw them in Germany around 82 and 87 and in the U.S. also in 87 and 3 more times around 2002 and 2010 and 2012. Mick Box is still carrying the torch.
My favorite Album and favorite song in college 1972-1976, put on the head phone's and get lost in the music 🎶 😮. Peace✌️ and Love❤️ your 70 year old forever hippie Gary😊 great reaction 🤣 check "Come Away Melinda" my theory is 😅 1946-1964 the Baby Boom generation after WW2, largest generation even today, the more people, equals more artist, equals more talent, equals great music 👍
Try the live version of July Morning or Gypsy off their Live '73 album or Stealin' off the Sweet Freedom album. Great band - Uriah Heep was the first live band I ever saw in the Caley Picture House in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1971.
What I enjoy most from your reactions is your openness to all music regardless of genre and how you really absorb what you listen to. Could I suggest that you take a listen to "Desolation Valley" by Nektar (the live performance on the BBC's "Old Gray Whistle Test from 1973 and readily available on youtube should you have the time and inclination. Thank you.
It is so much fun watching you dive into Uriah Heep and especially this album! It's on my "deserted island" list...albums I would HAVE to have with me if I were stranded on a deserted island. The final song on this album...actually a medley...is Paradise/The Spell. The keys and guitar and vocals and lyrics are just outstanding on that one. I hope you react to it. Back in the late '70s, I was the oddball college kid who didn't do drugs. When my friends asked me why not, I said, "I don't need them. I have Uriah Heep and their songs take me places I'm sure your drugs can't!" And while I'm on the topic of deserted island albums, I really hope you'll react to Edgar Winter's Dying to Live (ruclips.net/video/opGVGKw_lDU/видео.html) from his days with his band White Trash. You saw him with his brother Johnny (Tobacco Road) and his later group (doing Frankenstein). White Trash came between those, and Dying to Live is possibly the most beautiful song you've never heard. Everyone who's reacted to it has been blown away by its simplicity (just Edgar's vocals backed by his piano and some strings) and its deep and touching lyrics. Totally different from what you've heard from him before, but equally amazing.
It's hard not to like Uriah Heep - lyrics or musically. The entire "Look at Yourself" album is a hard-charging and uplifting piece. You should give it a try, especially July Morning and the title track Look at Yourself.
I would suggest watching documentaries of the 60s to get a better understanding of the times There was a strong movement against evil that has always existed
July Morning from Uriah Heep's studio album, Look At Yourself, is an epic track featuring great vocals by David Byron, and it is superior to the live rendition.
I grew up listening to these GREAT musicians. The late 60s and 70s had some of the greatest music in history.
The absolute best ever ..the great Gary Thain on bass
Uriah Heep is big magical world. Absolutely amazing level of musicians, melodies of Ken Hensley and voices of all band and her fantastic vocalists.
The bass playing on this is outstanding, vocals and lyrics are exceptional as always and the sentiment is so poignant and timeless, such an underrated band, they had a way of magically hitting the nail on the head
Fantastic group, Paradise/The Spell, July Morning, Salisbury......
july morning is an amazing song as well
Thank you so much for reacting to Uriah Heep. Their music and lyrics are magical. Please keep reacting to them, they have so many more great songs.
For me one of my all time favorite songs of all time! Love the Band!
One of my favorites off my favorite Uriah Heep album. Epic lyrics.
Today is only Yesterday's Tomorrow.
David Byron’s voice is utterly amazing.
In my opinion Byron was up there with the very best. Died at 39 from alcohol related problems. So tragic.
A great , underrated band! Still active!

The artist who did this album cover, Roger Dean, did many of Yes’ album covers and stage designs
Heep is timeless.

What i have always loved about Jackson Browne's music is he forces u to listen to the lyrics. Always so profound.
Some real gems in this one. Good one guys.
Salisbury is the one you are missing, with orchestra
The vocals is so clear...like learning English
Uriah Heep - July morning
Polish song Arahja by Kult was named after Uriah Heep

Великолепная партия Кена
If you watched the mini-series Wednesday, Uriah Heep might sound familiar. There was a store by a very similar name.
Ichkeria❤
There is much GOOD still in the world, the evil is just MUCH louder.

'Today is only yesterday's tomorrow' ? Yes, it is, but so what? It means nothing more than that! lol.

Uriah Heep - Lady in Black. If you not reacted to that already.
July Morning from Uriah Heep's studio album, Look At Yourself, is an epic track featuring great vocals by David Byron, and it is superior to the live rendition.
I like/liked Uriah Heep, but they don't/didn't hold a candle to Led Zeppelin. It's very dated, alas.
